People are just amazing sometimes. My friends that smoke have never turned away from me just because I vape. If were out somewhere and they go have a smoke I go with them and have a vape. Biggest thing I have a problem with is how these people judged you. Who are any of us to judge someone else for what they do. I dont recall a written law that says if you vape absolutely no smoking. Personally I dont use analogs anymore but I say to each their own.

You have a choice as to which kind of vaper you become. I don't care if people smoke or vape, or both or none. When i smoked the biggest [deleted] were the 'i quit cold turkey' brigade and i determined not to be so intolerant.

I was asked the other day at work by a new member of the sales team if i was smoking inside the building. Given that i use a box mod, you'd be hard-pressed to confuse it for a pipe or cigarette. I said 'yes'.

confession of a former smoking craybee: i caught myself turning into a bit of a snob recently. on my shuttle to work there was a guy who always smelled like a wet ashtray. seriously. as a former smoker i recognize there's a difference in smell between someone who smokes indoors as opposed to outdoors or well ventilated area. it was obvious this guy smokes in his apartment. once he sits down you can smell him no matter where you're at in the van but one day he sat next to me and the smell was just too much. after a few minutes trying to ignore it i got up, holding my nose, and took a seat upwind of him. yeah, i know it was snobbish, especially the holding my nose part but frankly i was hoping it'd give him a clue. dude stunk to high heaven and i just couldn't take it in such close proximity.

People are jerks everywhere. I work in a hospital and can't vape when I am on duty. When I take a break, I have to walk down to the parking garage. I was working the night shift the other day, it was raining and I snuck into what I thought was a dark empty room and started sub-ohming until it was just me in a dense fog in the dark...until I heard some tiny snores. I realized I was in the nursery but it was peaceful and the babies had kind of a smooth jazz beat to their snoring so I pretended I was Kenny G and my mod was my sax and each puff released a sweet note. Just then the lights come on and the head nurse who smokes and stinks comes in and tells me to get the hell out and its bad for the babies. I was like "um, if the babies didn't like it, they'd cry." She kicked me out anyways. What a jerk.

I've always thought the best thing anyone can do for their own mental health and well-being is...
Not to give a flying crap what other people think of you.
:)

But, if you do that, you must also take care not to be a jerk.
Because if you are a jerk, and don't care what people think of you, then you're a ..........

It's a fine line to walk sometimes.

I've found my happy place on that -- I really don't give a rat's patootie what strangers think of me, however I do not wish to cause a problem for anyone -- I believe in karma, and I don't want jerk behavior coming back on me!

Well, you were the better bred one in that conversation, SteamWhistle. They didn't deserve your conversation.

Makes me want to renew my "Make Stupid People Wear Signs" campaign.

Anyway... We got your back, SW. ECF is where your non-snooty vaping friends are. :)

Snicker... "Here's your sign!" :D Engvall is my hero!

In any given situation, people never cease to amaze me with the things they come up with to say.

...especially when hiding behind a keyboard.

Which is why its a good idea to be involved in the least amount of situations that one needs to.

Amaze, annoy, toy with you..... Without a word if your watching them close enough. >>>>> I dont like bad manners either.

Well, that pokes a hole in my wild-eyed zealotry of the other evening. I was sitting next to a woman who was smoking and she started asking me questions. She had tried e-cigs and they weren't for her. We talked some more about what she had tried and what problems she had and I said that the obstacles she had run into could be addressed should she want to try again.

I went on to say that one thing I really like about the vaping community is that we understand how difficult it is to get off of tobacco and that everyone quits in their own time. It seems we are more in tune with the issue of addiction and how easy it can be for people to lose hope after unsuccessfully trying to quit time after time. I said another cool thing about vapers is that they support each other and you don't get the holier-than-thou attitude often expressed by ex-smokers who quit using another method.

Silly me. I thought I was a snob because I have a ProVari.
