Ugh. I hate zealots of every stripe. Each group has them.
Aint that the Truth.

At least you tried to get 'em while they are young. I hope you tried to drop off some CASAA cards in the cribs before you left.
Well, that pokes a hole in my wild-eyed zealotry of the other evening. I was sitting next to a woman who was smoking and she started asking me questions. She had tried e-cigs and they weren't for her. We talked some more about what she had tried and what problems she had and I said that the obstacles she had run into could be addressed should she want to try again.
I went on to say that one thing I really like about the vaping community is that we understand how difficult it is to get off of tobacco and that everyone quits in their own time. It seems we are more in tune with the issue of addiction and how easy it can be for people to lose hope after unsuccessfully trying to quit time after time. I said another cool thing about vapers is that they support each other and you don't get the holier-than-thou attitude often expressed by ex-smokers who quit using another method.
Silly me. I thought I was a snob because I have a ProVari.

I confess, when I first quit smoking, I was a little bit of a zealot; it just smelled so bad to me when I wasn't partaking any longer, I made some comments about how bad it stinks, rather too loudly, out in parking lots. Having had this issue with the dehydration and needing to go back to smoking temporarily, in future I will be sure to remain less judgmental of those who still smoke, went back to smoking, or just never have heard the good news about vaping. It's a terrible, powerful addiction; it's no wonder we need something that *feels* so much like smoking in order to get over smoking!
IMO no one is a snob because they have, or don't have something ... some people are just snobs.
This is a funny thread. I have run into a few vaping snobs myself and I find them kind of amusing. Almost like a born again christian with their holier than thou attitude.
I've had folk tell me that my 'nic habit' is just as bad as smoking and I've only replaced one addiction with another![]()

While I Categorically and Vehemently Disagree with the First Part of what these People are Saying. I don't see the Second part as Being Completely Incorrect for Some/Many People.
True.. but replacing an addiction that has a high potential for killing you, with an addiction without that high potential, or really much of any potential at all, for death or serious health problems... seems fairly no-brainer to me. Like replacing hard drugs with bubblegum. Bubblegum *may* rot your teeth, but most likely won't cause either an OD or death.

Absolutely.
I made a Post one where I said that I had gotten One Very Nasty, Ugly Monkey Off my Back by Quitting Analogs. But Now I had a New Monkey. And it had the Potential to be, a Similar Monkey if I let it.
Because when I Switched, I needed to Chain Vape High mg e-Liquids to get Over the Hump. But Found that once I quit Analogs, I was starting to become Very Dependent on e-Cigarettes. And started to Think about Vaping Everywhere I went.
And that Vape-Everywhere Feeling was Not What I wanted to Feel All Day Long. Every Day.
Granted, the New Monkey was kinda Cute. But it was a Money All The Same.
... I think I may be better able to restrain myself from the constant chain-vaping, using higher mg nicotine, and putting the PV on the other side of the room so I actually have to get up and go to it, if I want to vape -- like I have to go outside if I want to smoke. ...
