You do know that people are able to reply to what you say online, almost, the same way they could IRL...you just wont get interrupted mid sentence

It's just not the same at all. Too much is missing from it, and what's missing is genuine human contact. Words on a screen don't come anywhere close.

Welcome to the Obama Nation of Amerika. He, he, he.

I saw all this going on long before Obama. Not that I'm any fan of his, but it's a large scale societal thing, not a political thing. People have become more insular, more angry, more suspicious of each other, and less friendly in general. For a time vaping seemed to transcend that and bring people together, but it didn't last, and now we are back to being cold to each other.

I am stuck in Benelux for the time being, in the country side, NO vape shops or lounges exist here or in any major cities close by,
My woman and I are parents, nobody speaks to us at the school gates, ever and even avoid eye contact,
vaping did not change that either...far from it.

Nobody dares speak to anyone unless you tap them on the head with a sledge hammer,
It is worse in CH, where the "vape community" is rather large in comparison, but still no social aspect to it,
In NL, you have coffeeshops for dry herb but you can not vape there, (lol?) nothing social about them either though.

It is cold on planet earth and segregation is rampant, specially in EU, IME anyway.
/rant.

Nah, my vape was on the bar and I'd been using it for a while before I asked her that. Maybe she was just annoyed that someone she didn't already know spoke to her. Society is like that anymore.
Some people are just like that unfortunately, and she probably wasn't a very social person to begin with since her reaction indicates that. Seems she may need an attitude check...but some people are just set in their own ways I guess.

Yeah theres a big convention coming up in Pomona, I think its next month. Its at the LA County Fairgrounds like 5 minutes from my house so Ill definitely be there. Do you use Tapatalk at all on your phone/tablet for the forum? Theres a forum on there called Cali Vapers or something like that, although its not really as active as this one, and the general attitude on it seems to be more the hipster cloud chaser type.
I went to ECC @ the Fairplex in Pomona last year (my first attendance to an ecig event) and it was a positive social event. At the time, I had started vaping only 2 months prior and was surprised by the amount of people who attended...it was like a concert event. People were friendly and very social for the most part. I was able to check out all of the latest products hands-on, sample tons of flavors, and got some freebies as well. I plan on going again next month (to help celebrate my 1-year vapeversary which was last week)...needless to say I foresee myself having some difficulty staying within my vape budget [again] next month.

Yeah. I was reading about that. I live on the other side of San Bernadino so it's about an hour drive for me but I'm definitely thinking about going.

I do use Tapatalk but it's been really stubborn and not connecting lately so I've just been waiting till I'm on the computer to check the forums. But I'll definitely look into that forum. Cloud chasing isn't really my thing but most of the cloud chasers I've talked too have forgotten more about mech mods and battery safety than I've ever learned and most of them can build coils in their sleep while I'm still fumbling around just trying to get the wire off the spool without it exploding all over the room lol

I started vaping in the beginning of 2009, and I miss the days when I was the lone vaper in town.

Lots of puzzled looks and questions.
Meeting fine people at the pub. People who were actually interested in knowing more about the device, instead of spreading the junk-science fuelled propaganda they heard in the news.

Not the same today. :(
My usual gag was to put my little Janty Dura on my shirt pocket, at a building's door, right after I took my last "drag" before entering.

People would look at me like o_O ????
No-one bats an eye when I do it today.

Very, very true. People sitting across the table from each other, texting, because they don't truly know how to communicate :(

I vape and smoke/collect cigars. Some ppl seem to not wanna be bothered but others will sit down and talk about anything for an hour and a half while smoking a cigar. I think some ppl just feel that there not all into the gadgets and gizmos of ecigs. Just like some ppl will buy a 2 dollar gas station cigar and care less. To me its all about the experience, flavor and etc. Yes I have about $1500 in cigars and I plan to smoke everyone of them..lol

Here in Texas, where I see more people vaping than smoking at this point (could be where I'm at on a daily basis) the topic of vaping gets brought up a lot. But it does vary, some people I can talk about vaping for an hour, others aren't as social about it. I guess it depends on the person, really.

There are a few of us running around. Sucks that you are stuck in Grapevine though. Home of ...... with badges that like to drive drunk.

Lol isn't that the truth? I actually really enjoy the area. There are about a million vape shops in my general vicinity though.

I have to say i live in Toronto and the vaping community here is fantastic, in the time i have been vaping i have maybe come across a couple stuffy people, just about any where i go im sure to meet someone who is willing to chat about vaping even non vapers, and going into the vape shops, you can just about sit beside anyone in there and leave 2 hours later with an ear full of good conversation.

I live in the middle of nowhere with cactus as neighbors, so I am internet oriented. But, when I go to a city, I try to stop at vape lounges to just sit and visit. If they have juice that I know is available on the internet, I will try some and buy a bottle or two out of courtesy. But I like to chat, too. Nice to spend an hour or so.

Oh that's so nice to hear! That's how it was when I started vaping here. Now we have a new vape lounge here on the cape, and no one ever shows up there to hang out and socialize. People stop to buy juice, mods, attys, drip tips, and off they go.

There are quite a few down here in Johnson county too. I'm half an hour from anything, but within another 5 min there are about a dozen.

It just sucks because about 85% of them either have poor customer service or literally don't sell anything but Kanger evods with ego-c twists.

I found a couple with a lack of service, but most that I have been in had a decent selection. There are a few that mainly sell juice because they know they can't match online prices.

DEFINITELY the hardest part about running a shop I imagine. Having people telling them that they've been undercut online by $50 dollars would suck.

Yeah, vape stores continue to be geared for beginners and they don't really care, they are all about raking in the cash for egos coil heads and clearos, and junk clones of whatever. I would so love to see someone open Advanced Vaping, and selling the real deal to experienced vapers. Authentic mods and attys, mesh, kanthal, DIY supplies, and decent batteries to support serious mods, but no one is doing that... anywhere.
