Yes, but don't take it too seriously. Vaping is not smoking. The only similarities are the actions you take using the device, the nicotine within the device and the apparent plume that appears when you finish using your device.

Aside from that, over time you will begin to know how much e-juice you use in a day, how much you need later and can better calculate out your now-healthier habit.

Just don't go too crazy.

We all do it. Don't worry too much. You are not taking in the 4000+ Chemicals from analogs. One of the reasons we vape more is because we have more places we can do it. I used to only smoke in my car when I was at work. Now I vape all day and at home while watching tv. I use 6mg nic, which is substantially less than the 1 1/2 packs of analog Marlboro smooth i used to smoke each day, on average, I use about 2 ml of juice a day, sometimes more.

If you get headaches from too much nic, just put it down for a while, or drop to a lower level

Hi, Motoman! Congratulations on your switch!

First of all, not smoking is a great achievement. Then, probably a majority of vapers find they vape "more" than they used to smoke. There are several things to consider, though: first - the nicotine absorption is different with vaping, and and you tend to absorb less nicotine per unit of time spent vaping. So, that sort of explains it. Then, and this is neither good nor bad necessarily, vaping doesn't come with all the irritants and, importantly, asphyxiating CO - so you simply find yourself able to vape more. Should you? I don't know...

The point is that I guess one should vape as much as it is needed to fend off the craving for smoking - which in most cases is a bit more, in terms of absolute time.

What nicotine concentration do you use, and what were your smoking habits?

What I found during a few months is that although I was able to drop the nicotine concentration a lot, I still spend as much time vaping. There is an upside - I don't really feel the need to vape when I can't, so I usually end up vaping a lot at home, sometimes in the car, but then there are 8-9 hours stretches when I don't vape at all.

Honestly, nowadays I enjoy vaping for itself - the flavor, the sensation - rather than using it as a replacement for smoking exclusively, so there.

First of all, not smoking is a great achievement.

I would call that debatable depending on the personal addiction of the person in question. I quit smoking because vaping was cheaper. I literally threw my last empty pack away on the first drag of my 510 and I know a few others who find vaping superior in almost every single way to cigarettes including flavor, strength and throat-hit and many have switched because it is a better experience in nearly every regard aside from local availability.

But I do know just as many who have struggled and enjoy the burn and flavor of tobacco being heated by a fine zippo lighter but many of us cling to the nicotine addiction and throat hit and could care less if our e-cigarettes tasted like watermelon, so long as they hit like freight trains carrying a load of Mack trucks, and they do in the right circumstances and setup.

Congrats to Motoman on quitting cigarettes! But was it difficult? I don't know. I don't really care. Finding this forum, listening to the words written here, and formulating a kit that is good for you, buying the goods and taking the time to find and digest the information is the real achievement, because it means you believe there might be a better alternative to what you are doing, that someone, somewhere found out something.

Turns out they did.

congrats on making it three weeks! I am at two weeks myself. I've had one analog, but that was because my battery died while I was out. As far as how much I vape, it depends a bit. When I am busy doing things around town or when I'm working I don't vape very much. I do find when I am chilling at night, watching tv or on the internet I vape a pretty good amount. Over the past two days I'll notice that I start to get a touch of a headache so I plug it in and forget about vaping for awhile.
