I don't even know if I still want the waidea one I ordered from FC. Heh, that's the problem with ordering from China, my impulse to buy was great, two weeks later I'm not even looking forward to it. I've moved on from dna40s, they have gotten no love in a week from me.

I dunno- I don't mind the size or looks of the KX-50D. Now, I want a dual battery TP setup. But if not for that I would consider the mini flask.

I was contemplating the same thing after just seeing it. Want a dual battery setup as well, but price point is nice. With thoughts of "well, i could always grab that instead of the SX Mini for a leave the house setup when it's raining" :)

Here:

If it doesn't ground this way perhaps the ground wire is attached directly to the 510's negative.

My Kangxin flask has entered the country! If I'm lucky I'll get it tomorrow, but in all likelihood the postal service will take its sweet time and I'll have to wait until next week :-( Extra annoying as I can pretty much walk to the foreign postal arrivals center but am not allowed to collect my package there...

Right behind you...
Seems like Waidea copied the real Vaporflask too well, and they copied the first run of the DNA40 2.1 model that sometimes had grounding issues.

Mine started showing "weak battery" with two 85% charged batteries. Didn't matter what tube the batteries were in, if the charge was not real close to full on a battery, it wouldn't work.

It's a ground issue on the 510 (and probably related to what TheBloke was running into). There's no solder used to ground to the 510, just a bare cable (actually stranded like a cable instead of a traditional stranded wire) that is trapped between the top plate and the brass nut threaded onto the 510. While it's a clean install and pretty abuse resistant, especially during assembly, it's not an ideal ground as it is.

Tightened the nut and the problem seems to have went away for now. Will probably end up breaking out the soldering iron and insuring a better connection.

On a positive note (see what I did there?) it looks like it should be fairly easy to install the 510 of your choice in there, tons of room top to bottom, unlike the Kangxin flask.

No !
That thing is uglier than hammered out crap.
And I wouldn't want to accidently blind myself with an LED while trying to vape.

You can switch the LED on and off and into a very usefull strobe mode LOL. First I didn`t like the LED, but I think it can be useful - work on your atty f.e.. I hope it will get a lens or sth to seal the hole - don`t want to flood the board.

Doris is everywhere, now she is on YT

Edit: FC has the big Flask in the promotion for 59$

Wow that video! The cheese!

I like the device even more now though, green still looks awesome! And it has sprung 510 pin!

In other news: Chinese bloke is contemplative about his vape.

Perhaps he's reflecting on Kangxin's many astonishing achievements: who knew they had the first ever 40W device, the first 50W 'variable' device, and the first ever 40W temp control device?! And all since October 2014! Ah, they must be using a rather narrow definition of 'in this industry' (Shenzen downtown area?) :)

Boy they definitely had a bad load of chips that reared its ugly head right during CNY! Hammy is like the 7th one I heard of a Kangxin failing like that! Love to know what is causing them to fail! Seems like in every case they are working great right up until the point that they suddenly shut down completely.

Any of you electrical engineers out there had a look at one of these failed chips to see what is frying these?

Really sorry to hear that happened Hammy75! Hope Fasttech takes care of you!

Thanks for the condolences Tpat:). I am sure FT will take care of the issue. I have ordered lots from them and on 2 occasions have had to warranty products. It's very easy. Just get a shipping quote to Florida then they approve it and give you the RMA number. Once shipped I take a photo of the receipt and they credit you within a day for the shipping. About a week later when it's received they either ship out the replacement or credit your account.

Takes longer then dealing with a local B&M but I only buy stuff from them I can't get locally. I usually pay the higher markup to support my local shop and the convenience. I just moved so I have no loyalty to the one in my new town but will probably keep that policy going as they seem very good and have reasonable prices.

At the end of the day if I am going to order from China it will most likely be from FT based on decent customer service (for what and where it is) and not a worry about needing warranty support. Again it takes time but will not leave you with a lemon just a bit of a wait...which should be expected dealing with China and only paying 2.50 for epacket.

It will be interesting if they can actually replace the Flask with them all being removed from their site. Does anybody remember if they had the Waidea/Sunlay before they were taken down? I will keep you all posted.
