but a microswitch cutting power to the logic area of the board (the part that is getting confused)

Sounds like you've got the plan, like @Tpat591 said, I look forward to seeing your success in cutting power to the "logic area" with a micro tact switch, like a reset switch in a pc (I think is how you referenced it)

Remember, post pictures or it didn't happen. ;)

Right behind you...
If you're really serious about a reset switch to deal with the board getting wonky, I'd say target the ground circuit. That's pretty much all you're doing when removing the battery caps, you know. An interrupt switch on the wire between the 510 ground and the board would do the trick, albeit with some added resistance in the loop, and of course there's the issue as to where to mount the button/switch.

Or, just throw a real DNA40 in there and be done with it. :)

50W flask with spring loaded 510 - £56
Does anyone have any more info about this, the discussion on FT says SXK. DO WANT :)

$56.90 50W VW Variable Wattage APV Box Mod - w/ temperature control function / 2*18650 / aluminum alloy / silver at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping
I bought a used flask that had a dead chip, then replaced with a real dna chip. The original dead chip was a SXK something or another, and has a spring loaded 510 and Philips screws in the top plate. Which sounds the same as the one your describing. I think it was identified as a infinite made flask. So I'd guess the one you linked too is probably an infinite.

Can't say much about the chip since I never used the original chip but I'll say the flask itself is nice. It's fairly simple to retrofit a authentic dna later if you wanted. No hot glue inside. Plastic T shaped tray that holds the switch assembly and electronics, 1a usb charger. The 510 is spring loaded and very solid. The only thing that's different from my waidea flask is the finish. I posted some pictures of my black infinite flask in this thread before, and you can see what I'm talking about, it has like a coating on the finish that I would guess makes it more scratch resistant but I will admit I like the feeling of the waidea more.

Hope that helps.

As per below, it is SXK/Infinite/Yosen.

The Phillips screws are sort of a dead giveaway that you have the SXK model (Infinite and Yosen both re-branded this unit).

I was going to say it'll surely be the same chip that Kangxin is putting into the Mini VF, which is likely identical to the Heatvape Invader Mini etc. We've been pretty sure there's only ever one chip out there for all these clones, and it's now upgraded to 50W.

But now I see it's got °C and a slightly larger screen (0.74" up from 0.69"), that's in some doubt. Could it just be the latest upgrade to that same chip? In which case, it's the most major upgrade we've yet seen. Or maybe Infinite or someone has made their own new clone of the chip?

I rather want it too! It's got slightly larger screen, temp display in C, and most importantly, the spring loaded pin.

I've always considered Infinite to be one of the best clone manufacturers. Although you guys did say the finish on their flask isn't as nice. How noticeable would that be with the silver, I wonder? I'd get a silver if I got one at all, as I already have the black Waidea.

Anyway unless the finish is terrible, and assuming no hidden manufacturing gremlins, this looks like the new premium flask for sure.

The information I found on it suggests that it is made by Yiloong and has a Kangxin chip.

Where did you hear that? The FastTech discussion thread thinks it's Infinite/SKX with some justification. Do you have a contrary source?

From the 50w black version thread page 2:

"Hi. I spoke to sxk on Facebook and confirmed this is indeed their mod and it does have a spring loaded 510 connector."

0.74" up from 0.69", would hardly be considered a larger display.

I can see the °C thing and the 50W thing if you really felt you actually needed it, but how often are you really vaping that high?

Think the 50w units will be available from all of them soon.

What are you, the conscience fairy in my wallet? :D

Spring loaded pin is the main thing. And I just find it hard to resist it when it's $55, I mean that's ridiculous. I ordered a delivery pizza last night that was half the cost of the mod. It seems like a crime NOT to buy it.

As for 50W, I don't know - I do often vape the VF on 40W, and more importantly on my new IPV4 I often have it set to 40 or 50J which will go up to 60W.

Of course there's every chance I won't use it. But spring loaded pin, yes. And I'd quite like a silver to go with the black.

OK , I'll throw it out there again, if i't's true, it fires down to 0.06Ω. That would put it into dual coils of Ni200.
So for me that is the most important feature. But for some unknown reason I am doubting that it goes that low by design (50 watts).
Darn, I had some coffee.
