The FD V3 Shorty 510 is the only 510 connector assembly (besides the Varitube shorty) that will replace the existing 510 in its entirety. It works & I have one working on my Black Waidea right now with no problems what so ever. Very stable connectivity & works great!

I just like the Single slotted look of the Original 510 and want to install just the FD V3 Shorty Center Pin Core from a FD V3 Shorty into the existing 510. I need to make a Bushing I cannot find to buy to mount it in there. I've made a bushing by heating up the 510 and threading the outer plastic of a papermate disposable pen into the lower threading of the original 510 & cutting it off to the height of a FD V3 Shorty 510. I need to thread the inside of the tube to a 510 thread to mount the core in there & I have a 510 Tap & Die Set on order from Amazon to thread the inside of the Bushing but it will not arrive until June as it is also coming from China. (Don't want to heat up the base of one of my attys to thread the inside of the tube) When it is completed I will reinstall it in place of the FD V3 Shorty 510 assembly I installed there.

If that fails the Insulator of the original 510 can be drilled and Tapped for the v3 shorty core. If that fails, there is always JB Weld.

:( ok wow, I completely misunderstood whoever said this first. I thought only the fdv v3 shorty was the only one that would thread into the single slotted 510 of the flask. I did not know to get the spring loaded 510 pin we would have to replace the single slotted 510 connector. I must have glanced over the post?

Well I'm waiting for my dna40 boards... I assumed I'd do the spring pin at the same time but now I guess I'll leave it non adjustable. Unless you or anyone knows how to replace just the pin?

I saw earlier that fasttech has the Flasks back in stock (in new Arrivals yesterday I think) they are $56 and don't mention manufacture but they share a 4 slot 510 connector is silver.
I missed that, checking now
Kind of looks like Infinite. Phillips screws and spring loaded 510

You are very well covered under the Ebay buyer protection program, contact the seller, they will about bend over backwards to take care of it for you.
BTW, pretty high price IMO
Yeah,I paid a good price for it thinking it might be a little better quality!:(

My other flask is an infinite and the spring loaded 510 is excellent. And even with an atty tightened down there is just a hint of a gap, like a sheet of paper or thinner. IMHO it's just enough to keep the atty from scratching the top of the mods.

To see the gap you have to hold it up to the light

Be thankful it wasn't working! Now you can send it back and get your money back. For what you paid, you can own 2 of them for only a few dollars more!
EDIT: Looks like your seller ended listing due to error in listing practically ensuring a full refund!

1) your reasons for wanting to do it no longer apply since you have presumably already established a proper ground.
the "proper ground" has improved it, it still gets silly sometimes requiring a battery pull

3) to disconnect batteries from board to deprive power your circuit would still need to have the capacity to allow maximum use amperage to the board while firing or it would overload.
4) perhaps it is time for another cup?

I think you misunderstand what I mean, not a switch in direct line with battery power (which of course would have to be at least 23 amps), but a microswitch cutting power to the logic area of the board (the part that is getting confused)

I bow to your wisdom.

After you have finished installing your switch, please stop back and post pics of the finished installation and a procedure so we may all marvel at your skills!

Look forward to seeing the finished project!
