Main body ground, and throughly removing the anodizing/paint from battery tube threads, underneath the 510, and backside of topcap would have been my suggestions.
Along with fix fire form sleep (aka double tap), and fix lock mode.

Well right, those would all be nice fixes for this mod.

I was more replying to @Nikkita6's comment about a waidea squonker. If they were to make a squonker, that would be a cool one. They wouldn't have to go far for the chassis, heh.

My thoughts on it... squonker maybe but not necessarily a flask squonker.
I really don't think there's enough market for it to be worth their effort when they could make something that they could sale lots of.
Just thinking here, might just be full of it.
I don't wish to name the one that I think they should copy as they might just do it.

LOL Tpat, you must have some sort of psychic connection to China :p As life would have it, I woke up to a skype update from Waidea today, Andy has advised that the updated 510 connection is complete so they will be going out with the next shipments. Hard to say when folks will see them because that depends on each vendors current stock .. so if 3F or Focal still have say 100pcs in stock for example, then we won't see the updated Flasks until that stock is depleted.

On another note .. Waidea has asked me for new products suggestions and I have pointed them in the direction of bottom feeders. Not sure if they will attempt a Squonker (I think they should), but they have taken the suggestion to heart so I expect to see a bottom feeder of some kind within the next couple of months.

Hope everyone continues to vape happy :)
That's amazing! I was gonna PM you today to ask you for an update on the status of this! Great to hear that Waidea took the need to correct this seriously and that they acted so quickly to resolve this issue!

When you think about it, asking a clone manufacturer in china to stop their manufacturing lines to make a change in the way they do things and going to finished product so quickly is unheard of in the history of vaping! I guess there is nothing like the power of the press to effect change in the establishment. I Thank You for your excellent reviews and all you do for the community! You truly are a miracle worker my dear!:toast:

BTW:
-Would you happen to know if Waidea is planning to incorporate a proper floating pin assembly in the existing 510 now that the grounding issue has been repaired? I know you said in your review they had tried it in the past & weren't happy with the results but now that the grounding in the unit is repaired, I have no doubt their results will be more favorable and finally make their unit a True 1:1 clone!
-I think they would also do well in making Floating Center Pin Upgrade Kits available to those who bought their flasks already or at least the Bushing needed so we can mount a FDV V3 Shorty core in it! (think it is M8x.05mm outside x M7x.05mm inside)
-The squonker modification to the flask seems like an easy way for Waidea to open a new market with minimal effort in the face of increased competition and should serve them well reputation wise even though it is more of a niche catering and I doubt they will sell enough to make it worth it financially.
-Do you know if they are planning 50w or 60w versions of the flask in the near future to defend their market share against the new SXK/Infinite/Yiloong units now popping up on FT?

Thanks again for all your help! Great Job! :thumb:

I reached out to Doris @ Focal to see if they have received the Updated Waideas and here is her reply:

Thank you so much for reaching me out.

I have confirmed with Andy from Waidea that they are going to ship out the updated version to us. Please note that the current stock in our USA warehouse aren't updated version since that arrived at our warehouse on May 10th.

If you purchase from China warehouse, it would be updated version.

If anyone is considering ordering one of these I would definitely contact Doris to ensure they will send you the Updated Version in your order just to avoid any possibilities of receiving one that has not been updated. She is very helpful.

Bad news is it appears to retain the fixed pin. This is a pic that Waidea sent to Doris.

There is annealed (soft)
and tempered (hard)

I literally have about 5 rolls each of annealed so I'm not going to buy any tempered untiI run out.

I work harden each strand of Ni200 before I do my twist, by putting one end in the drill chuck, holding the other end with a pair of pliers and running the drill on low speed.
in other words twist each strand until it breaks usually at the drill this will work harden each strand, then do your twist.
This will take allot of the spring, but not all out.

Awesome, thanks Willie, I'll try the work hardening before the twisting.

Final, quick question - if you had an equal number of rolls of annealed/soft and tempered/hard, which would you use to make your twisted wire? I chose Hard, just on the assumption it would be stronger, but is there any reason to use Soft instead - maybe it being less springy, or easier to work with in the resulting coil building?

just pulled the trigger on 50w 2329900, hope for the best

A man after my own heart, taking the plunge into the unknown - excellent! :)

I got the same model in the silver, so when we get them we can compare. Hopefully you'll be lucky and be part of the batch that's coming in in two days time, the one I hope to be in as well.

Have you ordered from FT before? Any idea how long it will take to reach Saudi Arabia?
