Personally I can't even fathum why anyone would need 100 watt TP device much less 200 watt.
IMO any TP device over 50-60watts is pointless and counter productive.
I look at it like a rope or chain, for 50 pounds I want a 100 pound rope.

There is some sense in high watts for the pre-heat. My Dicodes does up to 80W and I usually leave it around there, and it gives it that little extra boost at the start to get it quickly at temp.

But yeah 200W seems silly. I am pretty sure they felt they had to "tick every box" - Chinese are doing 200W so they had to, as well. Sure it will use 200W for TC but it will probably send it for 100 milliseconds or something, and there won't be much or any noticeable difference compared to 100W for 200 ms or 50w for 400.

It wouldn't matter so much if such high power didn't also require a special battery config.

Anyway I'll bet anything that there will be a dna 80 or some such before too long - they're not going to want to miss out on the mini 1x650 market for too long.

All,
The flasks are up on Focalcig and I have mine ordered!
Thank you for the support via PM!
Sean
So temping
Almost, I took it back out of my cart.

This is off Focal's page for the SXK Flask, it really doesn't alarm me but just what is it that they are trying to show?

I guess I got it, it's Kanthal. I forgot that it stays in temp mode even with resistor wire.

FYI latest reply from SXK re low resistance "We have realized the issues you told us and we will try our best to fix it "

I believe this means there's no chance that currently in-stock / recently shipped mods will have the low resistance fix. But maybe in a few weeks.

That said, the low resistance issue appears to be not nearly as severe for TC as I first expected. It does require an NP offset, but much lower than I predicted.

For example, with Titanium the expected NP would be 35 (TCR 0.0035) but a value of 40 appears correct - that's with a 0.41Ω build that the SXK reads as 0.35Ω. I couldn't yet do proper testing with Ni200 yet as I found my Ni200 itself has a too-low TCR. But I ordered different Ni200 and it arrived this morning, so I will re-test tonight and see what I can see.

The Oort Cloud
Chipsets, brand of wire... etc at the moment they are all under suspicion.

By the way Nibiru, I have been using 4.5 mm ID coils for the last month or so and even without TP control you can't suck one of those dry. It's like the Energizer Bunny... "It just keep on going". If you have an Atty (I use the Lemo 2) that will take that size coil give it a try I think you will be amazed at how well it works. Caveat I do use Rayon but I thing cotton will work just as well. Who knows maybe better.

PS - the Oort cloud really... that is pretty far out there.

Your first comment has much validity to it for sure.

Wow! A 4.5mm coil... BIG DADDY for sure. The 3.5mm works great for me so far in the TC mode. My Universal Tools Coiler Jig has kinda spoiled me regarding winding coils, nice tight coils which are then easy the stretch on the mandrel and space my coil out. Not to toot my horn but I think I make some damn pretty coils. One of these days I'll post my process of how I do it. Maybe later this week.

I know that the "Bloke" has done his homework and such. For me personally it is just way too much info and time to really worry about.
His video about the iPV4 was way too long, and frankly IMHO, he doesn't possess a classic narrator's voice. I had to stop after about 20 minutes because I kept nodding off.
PBusardo has long video reviews too, but at least he knows how to inflect his voice and change up the pace. Monotone narration loses my interest quicker than an Obama speech.
A lot of this "wire debate" for me personally is like the classic case of the theologians in the Middle Ages endlessly debating about how many Angels could dance on the head of a pin!

Yeah... I know the Oort Cloud. Since I have difficulty in maintaining the cooling in my Tesla-based superconducting fluidic drive coils and the Flux Capacitor I've found it necessary to hang around out here with these big chunks of ice. Occasionally we fling them at each other similar to what y'all do on Earth with snowballs. Every once in a while, one goes off target and heads toward Earth, then we start what you call in "office pool" to see if it will strike Earth or just coast past it.

Hmmm... I should have never mentioned the Oort Cloud.

I'm noticing how important atty lock is with these evolv boards. Without it the resistance can flux-a-muh-tate a decent amount. I notice it on my VS DNA 40 with just power lock. Especially with those pre made ni200 Kanger heads. They are worthless without resistance lock. Might have to get the new Kanger rba from fasttech for my older ST mini.

I just got the new black subtank mini today with the new vertical coils and the new style rba (which is the reason I wanted it.) So far she's wicking better than the old style rba.View attachment 465643 View attachment 465644
FT has that RBA part listed, only fits the mini ST
I received mine about a week ago and that's the rebuildable head I was talking about when I mentioned how nicely it performed with a rayon wick. The one in the FastTech listing looks just like the new style RBA head that came with my Subox kit. If it is an exact match it should then fit everything you'd expect and not just the mini Subtank that the listing claims.

It certainly could be made to fit by cutting a few mm of the chimney tube, if it doesn't already.

And this is the earlier head

Have you seen the new ST rba listed anywhere else? Sweet Vapes has it listed but not in stock. I really wanted to order from US & not have to wait 3 weeks from Chiba.

No body has the Authentic Kanger Mini Plus Rba in stock..... BUT fast tech has a "clone" listed, pretty cheap and looks like a peek insulator. I ordered 5 to give it a go
