Looking at the 3FVape Item Pics in the new listings, the Silver one is definitely the Waidea prototype Summer Sent Nicole pics of.

I Skyped with Summer a little while ago and he was initially unaware of the listing, Probably because 3FVape is indeed being supplied by Sunlay but As Per Summer, Sunlay will be buying them from his company.

I am unsure of what 3FVape has in stock but according to Summer, they units they are producing do in fact have single slotted S/S 510 that have spring loaded 510 connectors. I cannot confirm the accuracy of all this myself, but these are the pics he sent me:

Summer had to run to a meeting & cut our exchange short but he said he would get in touch later. If I learn any more I'll let you know.

I message d 3 fvape and they said it is NOT a spring loaded 510, there is no reason for 3f to lie about the connector, as it gives them only less sales.

I have been following this thread for some time. Would really like to get into the TP mods, but have been holding back. If this new one that 3F listed would get the spring loaded 510 pin, I think I would finally have to pull the trigger on one. Almost ordered the new fixed pin one tonight. Glad I held back for now.

HD

Summer has been giving out questionable information for quite some time during development of this unit. Hopefully his information will be more reliable this time than it has been in the past, but the silver units listed on 3FVape without the slot in the 510 don't make a lot of sense either unless they are clearing out early prototype production stock at this point to be revised later.

I wouldn't pull the trigger right away but it appears as if they are real close this time. When Summer gets back to me, I'll try to get more info on the chip but the fact that the display is not lit in his pics disturbs me.

I never said that 3F lied. I said I contacted Summer from Waidea who sent Prototype pics to Nicole last month that essentially matched the Silver unit listed on 3FVape right down to the un-slotted 510 and brass button (with battery caps that extended from the body of the flask).

Summer was surprised by the listing & asked me if 3FVape had the units in stock. I sent him links to the listings & told him that you or someone else said they were coming from Sunlay. He said they supply Sunlay, & the units his company is producing are equipped with Single Slotted SS 510s with spring loaded self adjusting center pins.

He Broke off the exchange to go to a meeting & said that he would get back to me later but sent those pics to me of their production units to verify what he was saying. He was the same guy who put the video up of the original flask in the past labelled as a clone so I have some issues trusting his word.

I have no doubt that if 3FVape says the 510 is fixed that it is on these early units now being listed, they are not lying.

I believe they are selling off the early production prototypes now and will switch the listing to self adjusting pins when the early production stock is sold off.

I'm just passing along information I am learning to the community in a timely manner.

Too much mystery around this Summer person & Waidea company. I'm going to avoid personally, just for the fact that they are providing false/vague info from the get go.

Three questions for the experts:

1. has anyone successfully installed the big screen real Evolv DNA40 into one of these? (or what other clone would be better for that, that is equally well built and just as low cost?)

2. is anyone using titanium builds in this yet? (nickel is really toxic)

3. someone said to get the SRX version if you replacing the chip with a real DNA40 (firing delays really bug me) - where is the best place to get that model - link?

Since the main feature of this MOD is the temperature control and it's stated to use NI200 wire "only". Some have health concerns about the wire being nickel.
My question is... why not use 317L Stainless Steel welding wire aka "G-Plat" ?

Since this is a lower resistance wire compared to Kanthal, roughly half the resistance. Would it not suffice to allow the TC to function? Also it would allow one to go to a lower gauge wire aka thicker wire to get more durable coils.

I went to this thread to read more about it: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/wick-wire/644568-317l-stainless-steel-welding-wire-24g-review.html

This has me curious to say the least. Now I'll admit I did search this entire thread to see if the question has been asked and answered though and didn't find anything.

What do y'all think?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Another question: Would y'all recommend getting this clone from Focalecig or 3FVape?
It's a $5.00 difference with 3FVape selling at $74.99 and Focalecig at $69.95
As I mentioned before, I ordered the 3fvape version #1660 (Vapor Flask DNA 40 Style Upgraded Version Variable Wattage Mod - Black, 1~40W, 2x18650, Micro USB Charger, Temperature Control - 3FVape) back on 2/13 and it still shows only "payment accepted". Oddly, the description for it has been updated to include the words "it will be shipped randomly", whatever that means. I'm starting to wonder if this particular model may be in short or non-existent supply. When I ordered I wasn't overly concerned about the brass 510 or no usb connection, as I prefer a screw type adjustable 510 anyway. I've emailed 3fvape 2 weeks ago and again last week for a status update, but never got a reply.
My questions are:
Since we are now seeing 3fvape is offering this unit in various versions. Does the version #2806 (Vapor Flask DNA 40 Style VW Variable Wattage Mod Version 3 - Black, 1~40W, 2 x 18650, Micro USB Charger, Temperature Control - 3FVape) with the stainless 510 and usb connection have an adjustable (screw type) 510? I do not want a spring loaded one.
Is the #2806 version as good a unit as the #1660. I had read some early reviews on the #1660 and they were very positive.
Finally, if I wanted to change my order, how does one go about doing it? I can't find anywhere on my account page giving me to option to cancel or modify my order and so far 3fvape hasn't responded to my prior emails.
Thanks everyone
Did you get any reply about the delay? It wasn't even shipped? That's crazy... CNY or not lol
I can safely say that the new VF listings in 3FV do not have adjustable or spring-loaded pin. I personally opted for 1660.
The fact that they are ignoring you is disturbing. I asked a few questions before even placing an order and I got response withing a couple hours! Quite impressed actually. Try the contact us feature again maybe?
wait nickle is really toxic!? so are you saying we should not vape on it!? This is the first I am hearing about this, i demand proof!
Ordered a flask from 3fvape on the 2-25-15. I got impatient and sent an email. This is what they wrote back.
"According to the update from the factory, all our Vapor Flask orders will ship out on next week.
thanks for your patience,"
I got the same reply today...I inquired a few days ago.
What do y'all think?
The resistance doesn't actually matter. What matters is how the board calculates temperature. In the case of the genuine DNA 40 and current available clones, they all calculate the temperature based on resistance differential ie nickel has an almost linear relationship between it's core temperature and resistance. Knowing the base resistance of a coil at ambient temperature, you can calculate the temperature of the coil based on the increased resistance of the coil as you fire it.
Titanium also has a similar curve although the base resistance and variations are a little different.
Kanthal and the steel you mention do not have an expressive variation in resistance with temperature changes (they are thermostable) so they can't be used by the current technology to provide a way to calculate temperature accurately.
Hope this helps
#1660 is a known good device. Electronics work well, TC is functional, finish is first class, and while its not a 1:1 clone, its damn close. With all the world-wide forum traffic being positive and dating back almost two months, people are certainly interested in it. I suspect there's a lot of demand for it, and lots of back orders to fill, as 3FVape, Focal and Fasttech all are carrying it and promoting it and competing for stock.
My main concern on these clones is that the 510 connection is either not adjustable or spring-loaded. In addition, they're either made from copper or brass or bronze which are all soft metals making them subject to the 510 connections stripping out or enlarging.
This is not acceptable in my opinion. The DNA 40 TC clones have stainless 510 spring-loaded connections, why can't these other cloners do the same?
I may just go with a DNA 40 clone instead... or I may wait and see what's coming down the pike.
P.S.
Two thumbs up for tchavei
Thanks for the input. I went ahead and attempted to email them again from my account page (as I had done previously) on the 3fvape website, and within a couple of minutes I received a "mail delivery failure notice". So I tried again but this time I sent an email directly to service@3fvape.com using my external email account instead. So far (only a few minutes though) I haven't gotten a mail delivery failure. Maybe there is a problem with their site...
Is service@3fvape the best way to reach them?
