As I mentioned before, I ordered the 3fvape version #1660 (Vapor Flask DNA 40 Style Upgraded Version Variable Wattage Mod - Black, 1~40W, 2x18650, Micro USB Charger, Temperature Control - 3FVape) back on 2/13 and it still shows only "payment accepted". Oddly, the description for it has been updated to include the words "it will be shipped randomly", whatever that means. I'm starting to wonder if this particular model may be in short or non-existent supply. When I ordered I wasn't overly concerned about the brass 510 or no usb connection, as I prefer a screw type adjustable 510 anyway. I've emailed 3fvape 2 weeks ago and again last week for a status update, but never got a reply.

My questions are:

Since we are now seeing 3fvape is offering this unit in various versions. Does the version #2806 (Vapor Flask DNA 40 Style VW Variable Wattage Mod Version 3 - Black, 1~40W, 2 x 18650, Micro USB Charger, Temperature Control - 3FVape) with the stainless 510 and usb connection have an adjustable (screw type) 510? I do not want a spring loaded one.

Is the #2806 version as good a unit as the #1660. I had read some early reviews on the #1660 and they were very positive.

Finally, if I wanted to change my order, how does one go about doing it? I can't find anywhere on my account page giving me to option to cancel or modify my order and so far 3fvape hasn't responded to my prior emails.

Thanks everyone

I have been in contact with 'Kate' at F3V via their message thingy on the account and subsequently through normal mail.
I asked whether I would receive the new stainless steel v3 instead of the v2 I ordered and she said I could upgrade by buying 2 credits and sending them the new order number and supplied a link.

Having seen that th v3 has a fixed 510 I decided to stay with the original order. I placed order on 25th Feb and am still only
at payment accepted stage. I also got the reply saying that all would be shipped next week (I posted that earlier in this thread but none noticed I think..

I am hoping my inquiry about upgrading hasn't added to the delay but I guess I will see..

great thread to keep up with during the long wait...:)

Thanks for the input. I went ahead and attempted to email them again from my account page (as I had done previously) on the 3fvape website, and within a couple of minutes I received a "mail delivery failure notice". So I tried again but this time I sent an email directly to service@3fvape.com using my external email account instead. So far (only a few minutes though) I haven't gotten a mail delivery failure. Maybe there is a problem with their site...

Is service@3fvape the best way to reach them?

You do realize there's a wee bit of a time difference between Shenzhen and where ever you're at?

It's just a bit after 2 AM there now. :)

I thought China was a 24/7 business LOL

My payment should clear tonight so I'll keep you guys posted about processing times.

Croak, did you install an after-market 510 connection in one of these yet? If yes how hard was it and does it work with the TC?

I haven't messed with it yet. I have a 14mm Varitube stainless/brass floating 510, and the top plate from Kangxin is 16.5-17mm, and the cutout is 19-20mm. The top on the Varitube is also half the thickness, so it'd be recessed below the cutout 1 or 2mm instead of flush with the top of the unit.

Sounds like a whole production! Do you thing the FDV ones would be a better fit?

Off topic: How do you like the DeathStalker?

I think the V1 and V2 authentic flasks used a 15.5mm FDV to start with, before the DNA40 went with the custom flat plate.

So, you can get a FDV in 15.5mm, the V3 Short would probably be the best fit.

Deathstalker is ok, it's holding up well, got it in 2013. It's not mechanical, it's a bit mushy to type on, but response time is great for gaming, and I'm spoiled by being able to monitor my hardware on the secondary display, my rig is a double 360 radiator watercooled i7-3770K and dual 780ti GPU rig with the .... overclocked out of it.

Oh, something else to watch out for folks. The Kangxin board will let the 18650's go way low on charge, down to below 5%, before there's any weak battery indication. I'm not too stressed about it, but some folks are really particular about extending the life of their $6.00 batteries, and this can be a bit hard on them, and increases the amperage a bit which might stress the battery paranoics amongst us.

But then again, the Evolv DNA40 will run with very low voltage as well, it'll just throttle back output as the battery gets lower and lower, not sure if the Kangxin board does the same or just keeps sucking what you ask for.

Thanks for the info. I might grab one and do some soldering lol
* Nice rig you got there! I have a slightly newer system with a 5960X, SLI980 and a Novatouch TKL :)

Not sure if this has already been posted as I haven't had time to keep up with this thread, but the Waidea Times Flask is finished, they have sent me new photos and yes they are now using 1:1 battery caps. The fire button is not brass, its silver. As per Summer they have already shipped and sold out of their first batch ... My interest in this Flask remains low even as their Flasks looks really good in photos. Only way I will be getting it is if they send it to me, I will not be pursuing it at all.

In other news, My review for the Kangxin Flask will publish next Monday .. Hope everyone continues to get on well their Kangxin Flasks as well :)

Yeah, let that brass accent shine through. I'd take that top section off too.

Debating ordering a clear skin from J-wraps, now that you've shown it's a "good enough" fit.

But I doubt it, I like the feel of metal. Don't cover my metal phones for that same reason, though I'd wrap a skin on a plastic phone in an instant.

Forgot to mention, I took a black fine point Sharpie to the Vaporflask Made in USA V3 etching on the bottom, then gently wiped the excess off the surface when it was dry. Really didn't like that white.

I do really like the wrap but it was free so, i doubt i would of bought one though but it does feel super nice in the hands now, so it is staying plus it covers that white writing lol and protects it

Not sure who the manufacturer is, but on Ebay Canada you can get 100' of 28ga. ni200 for around $12.77 in Canadian dollars with shipping.
It's from Lightning Vapes which is a very reputable supplier! (I believe they use TEMCO brand wire).
