No apparently they Kangxin boards were too expensive so they went with some other source.

I'm just reiterating what I've read earlier in this thread.

Crap on a stick! That might just be a deal breaker then. But maybe I'll get it and do a review for you guys in the name of science.

As per Summer from Waidea, Kangxin boards were too expensive (reportedly use Evolve Patented Technology) to use so Waidea developed their own. That is why their release was delayed. I have emailed 3FVape & asked them to pull a unit to test it for reliability but have yet to hear back.

Does Waidea have a history or reputation when it comes to board development?

They were the ones who were making the Vapor Shark rDNA40 TC Clone 3FVape was listing since January but as never shipped due to failures of temperature control to work properly, screen freezes, & scrambled displays so we are all reluctant to dive in.
That sounds more like they are the ones using Evolv technology.

Very envious here. I have timestamps one half hour earlier than yours in China, but nothing has shown up so far in SF. Mine must be at the bottom of the bin.

Mine arrived in San Diego this afternoon, it will be out for delivery tomorrow if they don't schrew it up.

I have no proof but I'd say that within 24 hours of it saying "Processed Through Sort Facility" it's in SF cutoms in a box just waiting for them to get around to it. Mine may have been on the top and yours farther down.

Here's hoping you do get it tomorrow! If mine shows up in SF tomorrow, I should get it by Saturday. Fingers crossed.

Skyping with Sumer from Waidea last few nights giving him a hard time about his bad information, unfulfilled prototype delivery dates, unproven chipets, & fixed 510 pins which make his flask a 1:1 clone that is not 1:1. I told him senior members on all the forums were telling people not to buy his units from 3FVape for all the previously stated reasons until some positive reviews started coming in.

I kept telling him he had a serious customer perception problem with his product that he could only solve by sending review units out to reviewers to test and inform the community of their findings. Apparently I got through to him because he told me tonight he got his boss to approve sending a review unit out to Nicole for her to test & review for the community. (I had sent him some of her reviews)

I asked him to produce & post a little Youtube video of his actual units -- NOT THE ORIGINAL VAPOR FLASK -- demonstrating the Temperature Control Function in operation & he said he would when he got a chance.

I then asked how his chip was performing in the field and if they had any instances of failure, failure of TC, freezing, or garbled screens like the Vapor Shark clone. (I previously emailed him letter 3FVape sent out after he told me they produced them). I also asked about Wake From Sleep Delays to Fire & whether there is a two stage sleep mode like the Kangxin & Evolv. as well as reverse battery protection. These are unanswered so far,

He hasn't Skyped me back for last 1/2 hr which usually happens when he senses I'm getting feisty. Probably wont hear back from him again tonight.

Does he know anything about his their flask? Geez, this guy sounds shadier than an alley behind a strip club. The fact that they would put a fixed pin in, speaks volumes. Either there is a huge disconnect from the vaping industry/community or they are trying to maximize connectivity with the fixed pin, in efforts to accommodate the TC.

In fact he is just a sales person for a reseller/trading company otherwise known to me as a front or shell company. He does not work for the manufacturer and I am so happy I will never have to waste another minute being jerked around by him in Skype communications anymore. I am only sorry I made myself look so foolish and misinformed the community by passing along bad information from him for so long.

A very informative email back from 3FVape (Answered in line) says it all:

I don't want to step into the arguments between those so called "manufacturer". But as a respected client, you deserves the reality.

First, we are a B2C website, we don't make products. We don't have any intension to favor any manufacturer. We only need to be responsible to our customers.

We know suppliers and manufacturers in e-cig industry well. Waidae is a trading company. They don't make any products. They buy them. Waidae buy product from Sunlay Tech. 2806/2834 Vapor Flask Version 3 is developed by Sunlay and made by third party factory. The 2806/2834 we shipped are sourced from Sunlay directly.

(Origional text of mine to 3FVape) From my conversations with Summer, he informs me that the chip in the unit is not the reliable and well respected KX-40D used in the Kangxin Flasks which you have sold previously as they were too expensive to include and that Waidea developed this version DNA40 Chip on their own. That is a cause for concern as Waidea also claims to manufacture the Vapor Shark rDNA 40 Clone you have listed on your site since January. Your correspondence of February 13th explaining the delay in release of the Vapor Shark rDNA 40 and all the problems you noted: “Unfortunately, we found serious quality issues on some products. The temperature control function does not work. And some screen were scrambled after a while” are enough to make anyone doubt the reliability of the chips in these units.

(3FVape answer) 2806/2834 share the same chip with 1660/2101 made by Kangxin, you will see different open-screen message though. To be specific, you may see "KX-40D" which is from Kangxin, "DNA40" or nothing, which are from Sunlay. They customized those in chip, which is quite easy. You should understand that it's not easy to develop a chip, not mention the temperature control function.

My questions to you regarding these products are:
1) Do you feel comfortable in the reliability and proper operation of the chips contained in the new flasks given the quality control issues you noted with the Vapor Shark on inspection of their facilities and production?

We tested 2806/2834 Versoin 3 for one week before we ship. Our products experts used those mods very heavily everyday. I also joined the activity to be a heavy vaper.

We won't ship products out until we feel good. So, yes, we think they are ready for customers.

Speaking of Vapor Shark, the manufacturer is still working on it. So says on our product page. We will do the same thing too before we actually ship.

2) Do you feel that an incremental upgrade to a reliable adjustable 510 pin in the near future is a realistic possibility?

I would say that's possible. But I don't think that will happen in next quarter. You know that the life circle of a mod is quite short. Those manufacturers are pursuing new products now, instead of adjust their products per clients' requests. We have talked to Kangxin and Sunlay regarding that though. Unfortunately, they don't have plans to move yet.

Hope that helps.

Thanks,
Gina

I hope this clears up any confusion and I would like to apologize to anyone who is deservedly angry that or feels that I have misinformed them in any way. I have only passed along information I was given, named its source and expressed a lack of confidence in that source along the way.

I do like this 3FVape company more & more every time I talk to them!

That's a total game changer. I am officially "off the fence" and will be going with the 2806.
Thank you so much Tpat. I appreciate the work you have done in the name of the vaping community and I completely understand how things can get misunderstood or misrepresented sometimes. No need to apologize and I appreciate your honesty and professionalism during all of this. Keep up the awesome work!

Must admit I am impressed with the response of 3fvape. Now I just wish they would ship stuff faster...

They are dependent upon supply as to what they can ship & were at the mercy of Shipping, Airline & Customs delays during CNY and I honestly can't fault them for either.
