I don't know if you saw my post earlier, but I scored a replacement screen from Evolv for $7.50 shipped to salvage my Kangxin board. So they're only charging you $2.50 for the labor to fix your genuine boards.

I put three boards into my Kx clone squonker DIY project, I broke the screens off the ribbon on the first two due to improper placement of the board. I'm sending those two in for new screen but first I wanted to make sure I could get wires into them again.
I haven't sad much about it since finishing it but it was a success, I use it daily.
From that picture, it looks like your silver one might have the same kind of texture my black one has? Like a slippery coating type finish? not a brushed metal feel?
It seems to have a very fine texture like to it as if sprayed on, but it isn't paint.
So I bumped my ST mini with TBA up to 40 watts and 450F, no TP showing there either. On VS rDNA
I hate to spend the money, but I'm considering getting a Waidea from focal now... I've been using my flask (or plask) for several days, and I've gotten use to the weight, which was a big issue for me coming from my WAE2 which is FEATHER LIGHT. Also, having two 18650 batteries is awesome. I've used Panasonic CGR which are 2250mAh at 10amps (the grey ones), lasts all day, Last night I installed 2 Panasonic PB's which are 2900mAh 10amp (the green ones) and have been vaping all day, my second tank full so far and still at +70% battery, these seem like I might be able to get 2 full days? dunno yet.
Is the $65 focal deal from the USA warehouse, that's the one to get right? Is there anything else I don't know? (discount codes, other sellers, etc?)

That sounds like the same thing... I know this one I have is anodized, because the inside of the flask does look like brushed black metal, but it has some kind of texture on the outside - I'm guessing like your silver one does. I forget? is that one a Waidea too? (your silver squonker)..........
(super jealous by the way, that's got to be the most awesome bottom feeder I've ever seen!)
I realize you had to buy the screen for a Kangxin board and at $7.50 that's a bargain!!!... but I have to be honest, I wouldn't solder a new screen on for $2.50! LOL! I'll GLADLY pay them $10 to fix the screens for me....... (it's the eye's fellas, they are not what they once were)
And I didn't know they sold just the screen, I know I saw replacement screens from overseas (not in the USA) and they were white not blue, but can't remember where now... I'm sure the shipping alone was more than $7.50 USD
My Wadeia came out of China from Focal left on the 9th got here today

I tried the pin with a Bic pen and thought it was a stiff spring, just retested with a flat screw driver, My Bad, must have been the pen that flexed, not spring loaded... Sorry for the misinformation, seems to be a fixed non adjustable pin... My tanks do sit flush though so I am happy about that... Now I wait for the US shipped flask, A lemo 2 and a IPV 4 on a pre-order group buy from Smog.. and I wont even start with the lab equipment extracts and flavors for DIY....This new found infatuation with vape gear better slow down soon...Guess I am trying to catch up for the last 4-5 years out of the loop....I will be one of the Cool Kats soon!!! Maybe..
Oh dude... you battled thru all the hot glue? WOW. I had a hard time with this one (whoever makes it LOL) and it had NO HOT GLUE, just a white plastic tray.

You know you wouldn't want to cut up a waidea like that & the sled would have given you a fit!
Btw, went out for a burger at a local tavern & pulled the waidea from my inside jacket pocket to sneak a vape & the displayed resistance was 0.15 so it did correct after the atty cooled & the unit woke from an extended sleep. My Kangxin would have refined on each hit where the waidea does not seem to want to do so.
