Although I had originally intended to get another VF from FC, after the fiasco with the US Warehouse I didn't want to order another from there, so picked up the black Waidea from 3Fvape despite the negative experience TheBloke and others have had recently. Their customer service responded to a question I sent very quickly, and my black flask shipped immediately from China, so hopefully it'll get here within the next month and there will be no need to deal with customer service again.

Well the flask I ordered from 3fvape on Feb 13 is FINALLY out for delivery and set to arrive today. Two freaking months!

If this thing craps out on me in less time than it took to get to me I'll be .......

It sat in China forever...then in Chicago forever. I knew I'd probably get caught up in the Chinese new year but didn't expect it to take this long to arrive.

Right behind you...
Mine arrived today. It left Shenzhen on the 1st. So you should get it sooner rather than later.

Been using it for the last couple hours. Works as well as the Kangxin flask, but does seem to have a more noticeable firing delay in Kanthal mode.

Finish is mostly excellent looking, mine came with a hair thin, not-too-deep 1" diagonal scratch to the right of the up/down buttons, nothing I can't live with. I suspect Kate sent me a demo model, and I don't mind that at all. Does make me wish they had the silver in stock, or rather, I was patient enough to wait for the silver.

Now, while the finish LOOKS a lot nicer than the Kangxin flask, I have to say I still prefer the satin finish on the Kangxin for actual use. More grip, it isn't a fingerprint magnet, and the anodizing is thicker and should wear better. Oh well, life is a series of trade-offs.

Buttons are much much better on the Waidea, no comparison. Better feel, better size, countersunk holes.

Battery caps appear to be a harder grade of brass, and polished nicer than the Kangxin, but I had hella crunchy threads on one tube that took a fair amount of cleaning to sort out.

510 connector just works, just be sure to snug it down good. Nothing I own quite bottoms out, and I like that, it saves the finish on the top but is close enough that I have to hold it up to the light to see the gap on most attys. Threads are nice on the 510 as well, feels as good as my Varitube equipped devices in that regard. And no more fighting with that blasted adjustment screw on the Kangxin.

And Bloke? Mine has no problem at all just knowing it's a Kanthal or Ni200 build, I don't have to change modes.

One difference in the display is when you take an atty off the Kangxin, it shows -.-- for the resistance, with the Waidea, it shows 0.00. Everything else seems exactly the same, right down to how it flashes when going into temp settings, how it round-robins from 1w to 40w if you press the down button again, and how the damn thing always adds 0.1w to your power setting when you try to lock power. I'm positive at this point that it's just a slightly newer revision of the board in the Kangxin.

So far, IMHO this is still the one to get folks.

Yeah same with mine, to the point that one tube wasn't connecting at all. Their QC seems to miss this entirely.

OK, thanks. I've mostly been running a single RTA with it the last few days, so perhaps it's impacted by build (0.60 ohm dual coil 28 gauge 2-strand twisted, 18 total wraps I think), or atty 510. Or it could just be mine of course! I'll do some more testing soon.

Intresting Croak. My Waidea shows --- with no atty. We can only assume that you have later revision.

Also, regarding wear on the finish, I have a friend who has a blue Kanxin, and the day after he got it the finish was wearing off. That's one of the reasons I switched my order to the Waidea. So far, I have no wear issues at all on mine, and I've had it...something like 3 weeks now.

Several pages back we were having a discussion about batteries in these flasks. I said I would order some LG HE4s and compare them to my Efest 3100's.

I've had the LGs for about 3 days now, and I can definitely say I get 3-6 hours more vape time out of the EFests, at 40 watts, with a .14, 26g, 11 wrap, spaced coil in an Atlantis.

While this is not quite the amount of increased vape time you would expect from the numbers alone (5000 mAh vs 6200 mAh), it is a modest increase in battery life.

Bottom line though, either set of batteries work perfectly fine. On a normal day, I wake up at 9AM every morning, and I vape until 1 or 2 AM when I go to bed, My flask always shows about half power by bedtime with the Efests, and a little below half power with the LGs. Either way, I'm getting at least 16 hours out of either set, and I never have to pop them out and replace them with fresh ones.

Edit: The LGs do fit better in the tubes. You have to take the stickers off the Efests to get them to fit properly, and they're a touch long so the battery caps don't quite screw down all the way like they do with the LG batteries.

Thanks, lenon.

That's interesting that you find the EFests are too long for a full tighten, because my second set of batteries are AW 2200mahs, which are button top @ 65.7mm. I assumed there was no chance of them fitting, but had taken my Flask to the store and tested it before purchase. The cap is noticeably stiffer in the final couple of turns, but it turns to the same point as usual, and completely flush.

So I wonder if your flask - already confirmed to have an earlier version of the chip - also has slightly different caps. Seems there have been minor fixes through subsequent batches of the Waideas.

I received my Kangxin Flask last week. It worked great for 5 days then nothing. Won't power on at all. Tried 2 sets of Samsung 25Rs that both work great in my Sigelei 100W+.

It's too bad as the chip was performing great and the finish was perfect. I did find the adjustable pin a pain as I have varitubes on my other DNA mods but it was live withable. Back it goes to FT as soon as they respond to my ticket. I don't think they are carrying Flasks anymore so maybe an IPV4 when they start stocking them.

I did find out I like the form factor so an authentic might be in my future. I am hesitant as it would probably cost about $400 being in Canada. Not sure I want to run around town with a mod that's that expensive. Maybe just get another and order the authentic board to put in if the chip goes South again:).

Boy they definitely had a bad load of chips that reared its ugly head right during CNY! Hammy is like the 7th one I heard of a Kangxin failing like that! Love to know what is causing them to fail! Seems like in every case they are working great right up until the point that they suddenly shut down completely.

Any of you electrical engineers out there had a look at one of these failed chips to see what is frying these?

Really sorry to hear that happened Hammy75! Hope Fasttech takes care of you!

I have talked to 'Doris' from focal

It is true the US warehouse guy who ships orders, is away on honeymoon, she has told me he is back this weekend and the Waidea Flask will start shipping this Monday, it was bad by the warehouse guy, as didn't give focal notice.

She did also tell me, that all flasks on the China side of site are in stock, but in high demand, but should ship pretty quickly, but they do check them before shipping though.

Before anyone jumps on me about orders, I am just the messenger, so don't shoot me :)

Monday!? I ordered monday and was assured it would ship out to me epacket within 48 hours! That was the only reason I ordered from the China side!

Email Doris & remind her she promised you a shipping notice. I know my Silver one had a tracking number in my order history for 24 hours before I got my notice of shipment.

I did! right after I posted (saw) the Monday thing. Asked her if my order would ship within 48 hours like she promised me, which was the only reason I placed the order with her in the first place instead of waiting on the usa warehouse.

No reply so far. Last time she replied to me within minutes. I guess maybe tomorrow. [emoji35] :(
