Please help me!!!!! I think I've over researched things and now I'm more confused than before I started. It's been a week and I really want to order my vapor4life kit but can't make up my mind on which one.
Here is my situation, I'm not a big smoker; probably 5-6 cigarettes a day (marlboro lights). I'm more of a stress/bored smoker than anything else, I've been smoking for around 20yrs and never really picked up a pack or two a day habit (very lucky).
I'm looking for a batt that comes as close to a real cigarette as possible
ie: amount of vapor, throat hit and looks/feel. I guess I'm looking for something that fools my eyes/mind into replacing my "oral fixation" more than nicotine addiction.
I know that I don't want the XL batt but have been trying to make up my mind between the shorty's (auto or manual) or the regular (auto or manual). I heard the autos don't produce as much vapor as the manuals, is that true? How about the regular autos vs manuals?
Any ideas, comments would be greatly appreciated

Here's my two cents on this:

Autos are great to get used to vaping. They are activated by your suction, so in essence, you control the drag.

Manuals are great for most experienced vapers, since once you are used to vaping, the manual just gives the user more control. There is a small button on the side of each manual battery allowing the user to begin heating the atomizer.

Historically, manual batteries are also more reliable and less prone to failure.

Lastly, when using refillable materials, manual batteries do not allow for the passage of juice into the battery compartment, which is a huge issue for some of us. Autos, while great, just aren't the best for refilling cartomizers in my opinion.

My advice, for new users, is to start with an auto. It is more like an analog, and it gives you an idea about how the whole thing works. Myself, it took awhile to get used to it all.

Feel free to ask any more questions. Hope this helped.

If you're looking for something that most resembles the feeling of an analog, order a new auto shorty. It's small, light and feels exactly like a cig. You may also like new regular autos. I have both and love them. Plenty of vapor and ease of use. If you don't like them, you can always order a manual later.

I ordered a regular manual with my kit (hopefully getting here today, I can't stand using these Volcanos anymore). I figured it would be best to just order it with the kit so I can try both and see how I like them. Though I'm not used to holding a cig all the way up where the button on the manual is, is that hard to adjust to? And does it feel natural using the button on a manual or does it really feel like you're just pressing a button?

Good work on the switch. I have a Volcano collecting dust too!

At first it does feel strange, which is why I really got used to vaping with an Auto....that said, you've been using a Volcano for awhile, so you know how it works.

You do get used to the manuals quite fast, since when you hit the button, you simply vape. You aren't at the mercy of suction, noise setting off your battery, etc.

After a couple days, it became part of the habit.

Hope it works for you!

Well said. This explains it perfectly

Thanks, do the VK autos get activated with noise too? I work close to where jets take off and they're extremely loud. My volcanos get set off by them.

WOW!!! I didn't expect so many responses so quickly. Thank You. I think I'm leaning toward a regular batt and just do one auto and one manual; that way I can see the difference right away and if I end up liking one more than the other I can always order another batt down the road. Does v4life allow to do a kit with the option of two separate batt's 1 auto and 1 manual? Can I do that online or have to call them to request that? Thanks again for helping out a Newbie.

For this fairly light (a bit heavier than you, 1/2 to 1pk/day) smoker who needed/wanted something as close to a cigarette as possible, I've been more than happy with my autos. I wouldn't go to a manual for love or money - no way, no how. Just doesn't fit my "style".

These batteries don't even have a microphone - they're basically impervious to sound. Not so much magnets though, so keep 'em out of the pocket you have your cell phone in. ;)

Since you're not sure, order a la carte. You'll need a charger or two (wall and/or UBS), a couple of batteries and some carts (I would start low, as you're not a heavy smoker), 8 and 4 works for me (Virginia Slims Ultra Lights smoker). It's a process, see what you like, play with it, and order more. It's a lot of fun, trust me, and the people on this forum are amazing and are here to help. Happy vaping and welcome.

Yes! Adrenn i thought i was the only one who screwed up the battery by putting it in the same pocket as my phone. I didnt realize how it broke til I just read what you said before. Man that sucks yes DO NOT put them as the same pocket as your phone. It goes along with not putting the center speaker in ur surrond sound on top of an old projection TV. The magnet in the speaker ruins the picture. My white auto batt (RIP) was my favortie for a while. Even better then my manual XL batt. Then draw was perfect and the TH and Vapor was better. But i got my new shorties and manual regular chrome (Stunning to look at) and now all three are in serious rotation. But i gotta say my fav is my regular manual batt. Like that it more resembles how you smoke an analog because by pressing the button before you drag on it its like having a burning cig. The analogs always lit before you puff. so my cartos primed before i puff. Kinda..? i guess

If you order a ultimate ultimatum kit, simply ask for one of the other kinds of batteries as an extra in your notes section. I am sure they'd help you out.

I've read all over the forum how people get extras all the time from Steve and the Team, but I don't want to just ask for extras like I'm expecting them. Somehow it just doesn't feel right me asking for them....

It does come with the manual USB PT. That's a great way to judge whether you like the manual or not. Even tho it's 5v, you still have the manual effect

Or you could add to the comments that you want 1 auto and 1 manual batt, instead of 2 autos. They might accommodate

I personally LOVE the manual XL batteries. I hardly ever use my automatics. When I started, I ordered the whole kit that came with two auto batteries and the passthrough. I found myself using the passthrough every chance i got, because i felt like i got more TH and more vapor. I asked around on this site and people recommended the manual XL. I have since ordered a second one since i like it so much.
