Hey ECF,

Just got my shark is yesterday that I bought off the classies here. Super disappointed because I can't get it to work as advertised. Hoping there is a simple fix so I don't need to follow up with the seller.

I have tried this with several atties with different loads but this seemed to happen quicker with lower ohm coils. All coils tested were between .6-1.8 ohms.

The ohms were read correctly and when I fired, immediately the voltage showed up correctly as well. At first, I would fire for a few seconds and I would see the voltage drop over time and eventually the device would show the evolv screen. By the time I was testing my kayfun with a 1.8 micro coil I would fire and the evolv screen would immediately show. If I continued to hold the fire button the evolv screen would flash as it kept going through the restart cycle.

When I received the device the battery was completely drained so I let it charge for several hours before seeing the red light go out. He battery meter showed as full.

Any thoughts on this one? As I mentioned, I really don't want to have to get the seller involved as it's been difficult enough getting in touch before there was any issues.

Have you charged it? It sounds like it's behaving like the battery is dead. The battery charge light should turn green once it's fully charged. If it won't charge, or if it charges fully and you still have this problem you should call them. You just bought this so it'll be covered warranty repair.

I had a similar problem happen with mine where it wouldn't charge about a week after I bought it. I called, they opened a repair ticket and emailed me a shipping label. I think I sent it back on a Thursday and I had my repaired vaporshark back on Wednesday. No problems since.

Thanks for the replies guys.

I had let it charge for about 3 hours yesterday but I guess that wasn't enough. There was no green light nor red light and the battery level showed full even when I was firing the device with an atty on top. I plugged it in this morning before leaving for work. I'll be home in a few hours and it will have charged for 8 hours so I'm hoping it will be good to go.

Coldpunk, as I mentioned in the OP I picked it up used on the classies so I doubt it's still under warranty unfortunately.

I'll just keep my fingers crossed and update the thread when I get home.

So I think I figured out what the issue is. The red light went out because it wasn't charging. Seems like a wonky charging port. If I wiggle the plug around the light comes one but goes back out after a minute or so.

I contacted vapor shark and I could send it to them to get it fixed but being in Canada it would likely take at least 3 weeks round trip. Anything I can do on my own?

Hmm other than opening it up and putting a dab of glue to hold the charge port in place I can't think of anything. If it was me, I'd send it back for repair. Buying it secondhand I'd have them swap batteries while they had it too. Worth it IMO for piece of mind.

You could also contact the seller and see if it's still within warranty.
