I have had a mini clone for a few weeks and loved it so much I placed an order for the authentic Friday afternoon. Friend of mine ordered one earlier in the day and told me about it, didn't really need another rda but after all of the things I've heard about it figured, why not?! Luckily after I placed my order, checked the website not even 10 mins later and they were sold out . Should be here in the next couple days, along with a new glass drip tip and I couldn't be more excited!

Finally got some time to play with my Velocity clone and loving it. Running Dual 26 ga 9 wraps, 3.0mm ID @.6 ohm and great flavor, great clouds. I had to tighten up my 510 pin on it to get the resists to stop jumping on me, but it has been very easy to work with. This was actually my first real rda build experience beyond some bad attempts on the subtank mini rba, and it worked out pretty well somehow  I made a few coils before getting a my coil master kit and they sucked for the most part, lol. I was getting better but the kit definitely made it easier for me.

I've had the tobecco clone for 2 months and my only complaint is that it has started to leak. Not sure what it is but seems like the juice wicks up in the tiny space between the two top cap pieces and once I adjust the airflow after chain vaping for awhile it breaks the surface tension of the built up of liquid and it just pours all over the place.

I think the juice collects at these gaps while vaping, till they consolidate. Mine happens too and only when I decide to change the airhole settings. Else it's not noticable.

I have not had any issues with the juice seeping from air holes anywhere, I normally just close the tops ones and use the cyclops holes at the bottom, working out well for me so far. I didn't think I would like the chuff cap, but it is nice to drip into for times when I can't or don't want to pull the top cap off to paint my coils.

So I decided to experiment with some builds and met with some failure. The latest one I did was a dual vertical build, 28ga, 9 wrap at 2.5mm and came out to .8 ohm. Nice vapor, but flavor is severely lacking. Has anyone done vertical with any success on the velocity? It is probably not ideal for this rda, but I thought what the heck. Wicked across the center, down through each coil and trimmed at the bottom lightly touching the deck.

I will also say it was my first vertical build and my coils are a bit sloppy, maybe 26 ga would do nicer for me to get them a bit neater.

I've done 26Ga., 6 wrap, 3mm ID, dual vertical coils, .44ohm, set directly in line with the cyclops air holes. Wicked it horseshoe style, and vaped it for a day . Next day re-wicked, no horseshoe, just cut the wicks above the coils with enough that they wouldn't drop. Vaped that for a day too. It was OK. Not bad, not really good either. I have to agree with you. Not the most flavor. Neatness might not help you here. :)

I think the Velocity likes horizontal coil setups better (or maybe it's just me who like 'em). Best build for me so far is this... (from yesterday), dual twisted 26Ga., 9 wrap, 3mm -ish ID (not exactly certain), .38ohm... Coils are set close to the posts aligned so that if you were to open the air wide, the bottom of the coils are just barely visible. You can visually see clear through the slots. I'm getting really good flavor with this. Best I've had on the Velocity so far. Vaping from about 45 to 70 watts and varying the air as it suits me. But hey! I'm a noob at this. It wasn't surprising to me though, that the larger wire surface area atomizes more juice; so, more vapor >more flavor. It helps (a lot) that the air flow is unrestricted by wick or wire.

Yeah I think I am going to go back to using 26ga rather than 28. I have not done twisted in the velocity yet, but might have to give it a go., those are some nice looking coils.
I need to get my hands on an Aromizer next I think, Velocity style deck on a tank would be nice for driving. ;)
Maybe consider the Griffin RTA. It was listed on FT today for pre-order, with MAP code it is 26.34.
