Gaaahhhh! So freaking expensive! Even if you buy the online access or pdf version. I'm all for a company making a profit but I really hate having to choose between my books and feeding my kids (I exaggerate but their menu will be less abundant). I know it's all for a good cause but dang my wallet is taking a beating like the idiot who flirts with the bouncer's wife. :(

and if all that isn't enough, they charge me 225.00 a QUARTER for a parking pass!! I've got 2 kids in college right now and even with the one getting student loans we are being drained. I had to buy 17 books for my daughter for 1 quarter! and then she tells me they didn't use all of them. I only want to post happy thoughts, so i'd better get off this subject.

Katattack (and others) - I feel your pain. I actually didn't buy a bunch of texts the past few quarters because I find they're superfluous - class notes seem to do it. That doesn't sound like the case in your coursework; so, have you looked on RapidShare? There are often pdf copies of textbooks coming from Russia and Turkey if you're in a discipline that uses U.S. or UK texts in other countries. Not sure if that's ok to post so apologies if that wasn't kosher. I also tend to buy older editions but for the best savings, international editions of texts esp. from India. They even sometimes have helpful, additional material.

Thanks for the info for chegg and rapidshare, my daughter checked it out tonight and seems interested. My son needed an aviation book and found a used one online from barnes and noble, I had no clue they sold used books. That saved me about 70 dollars. My biggest mistake was not buying a " college for dummies book "..
