So, I have I've flavor that I DIY myself, it's my peppermint mix. I've probably made 5 gallons worth of this stuff over the course of two years vaping. Last week I made my 50 mil batch like I always do, and noticed it wasn't clear. Didn't think anything of it at first. Shook it a bit, loaded my kayfun and YUCK!!! Most horrible taste ever! Ok no big, must have mixed it wrong, no idea god but just have done something wrong. Go out I. The garage, dump out the toxic waste that is this failure. Try again, same thing. Absolute crap! Ok worrying now. Ordered new vanilla, fresh unflavored nic, fresh cinnamon. Maybe one of these has turned on me? Get the new stuff in a few days later. Clean out all my mixing supplies, rebuilt my coil and wick, create a fresh batch, shake the heck out of it, and still horrible taste!!! Wth is going on??? I've now ordered a new bottle of peppermint oil but I'm worried that's not it either. Can pg/vg go bad???

This is the cloudy I'm referring to. It's usually crystal clear for a few days then the vanillia turns amber/brown but it's still transparent. This is barely translucent.

So Cal
Ya, new nic, new cinnamon and new vanilla. Pg and vg about 6 months old, peppermint about 8 months. Those are my question marks

My bet's on the new nic.....where did you get it?

As suggested above, vape the vg alone, the pg alone, then add in the nic to see.

It was the same with my previous nic batch which was fjne until recently. It comes from myfreedomsmokes.com I'm going to pour about 20 mil of each pg/vg into a cup when I get home tonight and see if they're cloudy. Then mix them and see their reactions, then add peppermint. I'll update after I do it

It's the PG, VG or peppermint. You've eliminated all the rest. So Vape just the VG on it's own then the PG then add some pepermint to the PG. I'm kinda thinking it's the peppermint. I've herd of mints and menthols going cloudy after a period of time. How old is the flavoring?

Another thought is I've seen this happen to a mix if it was refrigerated. Try warming the mix under warm tap water and then give it a good shake and see if it clears up.

I've seen the menthol/mint/koolata mixes cloud up but they should still be vapable so I don't think it's much of a concern other then it don't look very pretty but if it taste bad as you say then toss it.

As others have said, you just need to find out which ingredient is causing it. Vape a few drops of PG alone to see how it tastes, then do the same with VG. Next, mix a small batch (5mL) of unflavored nic at your preferred strength and your preferred VG/PG ratio. Taste that.

If the PG or VG tasted nasty by itself, you found your culprit. If they tasted fine until you added the nicotine, its the nicotine. If everything is fine up until now, then it's one of the flavorings. Mix each flavor individually in separate bottles and taste test them. You should just know immediately by which one clouds up, but if not, then taste testing is required.

If you do this methodically like myself and others have posted, it should take you no more than 15 minutes and will guarantee that you find the culprit.

And the results are in. Both my PG and VG are crystal clear on their own, mixed together, or mixed with nicotine. However, mixing peppermint with the vg is still clear, or the nicotine, but when mixing with PG it turns to milk. We have our culprit and now Im really sad, because without PG I cant make my mix. To add to it, I shook the crap out of the PG bottle, tried again and it wasnt as milky, but still there. Made a 20 mil batch and its milky but at least tastes a touch better. So, Im going to order a fresh bottle of PG, and just for good measure since I got these two bottles at the same time, going to order fresh VG as well. Thanks all for all your help, suggestions, and ideas on this, would really like to contiune this conversation, maybe get into the reasons why an 8 month old bottle of PG suddenly decided to kill itself off?
