Got my clone in the mail today. Built dual 28g 1/16" ID 7 wrap coils for 0.65ohm. I'm really liking this atty, but I may try a single micro at about 0.9ohm(my usual in other drippers), it's a bit hot for my liking, the flavor is amazing though.

I'm wrapping on a little screwdriver that's like the one that came with mine. I'm guessing it's about 1.6mm or about the same as 1/16th. 7 turns gave me 1.1 ohms, and 8 turns 1.3, so I guessing 6 turns, and angle the coil slightly should put you at about 0.9 ohms.

I've also went back to closing off the air hole to match the juice I'm using. As it turns out, some of my mixes are almost too intense for a tighter draw and it's nice that I can just open the air a little to smooth the flavor out a tad.

Received mine from fastech earlier in the week. I found it easy to build once I figured out how I wanted to build it. I have rebuilt it 3 times so far. The last two were very easy. I'm running a dual .08mm vertical coil. 3 wraps on a precision screwdriver. I'm not sure the size. Its bigger than the blue screw driver that comes with the attire. I make a jib by taking that screw driver and one of the blue screwdrivers together. Take the wire. Make sure its straight. Fold it in half flat. Leave a small loop at the top. This will go over the positive post later. For now. Its going on the end of the blue screw driver. You don't want the wire right at the very tip of the blue screwdriver. Slide it back just a little. Remember the wire has to over hang the nut and insolator. Separate the wires. Then wrap them how ever many u like. I did 3. I going to try 2 next. 3 came out to .45 I was hoping for .2 - .3ohms. I prefer a warmer Vape. When wrapping the wire. At the end. The legs should come off faveing different directions. One pointing north the other pointing south. Now take the coil off both screwdrivers. Remove the top positive nut. Separate the screwdrivers. Place the coil on the positive post. Use the screwdriver the coil was wrapped on. To keep the coil in place. By inserting it back into the coil. Replace the positive nut on the post. Hand tighten it. This is just to keep the coil from coming off for now. Position the coil with the screwdriver now. Get the coil close to the hole. With out touching. Pull the legs tight. While still maintaining coil position with the screwdriver. Wrap the legs around the negative screw. Wrapping in the direction the screw turns. Make sure to make a full wrap. Over lapping the wire. And coming back off the front. Tighten the screw. Making sure to hold the coil in place with the screw driver. Once the negative screw is tight. Then tighten the positive nut. I use a pair of toe nail clippers. The ones that look like pliers. I tighten it till the wire lays flat. This may be to much since the post is brass. But at this price. I can buy another. Sorry for the lack of pics. But this has got to be one of the easiest way to build it. If u try this. The screws need to be tightened in this order. Ecsuse u will have to retighten the positive after the negative if u don't. I haven't tried the horizontal. But this cuts out on the longer legs. Wicking is a lil difficult. So make sure u check it well before leaving out the house. Hope this helps someone.

Here is the jig I use

Here is a close up. I made the legs to short on one wire.

Coil placed In Atty. Normally I been using one screw. But I couldn't trap the wires under one.

Here is a pic of it all juiced and ready to go.

Links not working. Copy and paste if u wanna see them. Or someone else can feel free to repost them correctly. Hope this helps someone. Also. I ended up with a hot leg on the one to the right. I placed a piece of cotton. Accros it like rip does in his horizontal build. First hot leg I have got. I'm sure its due to the short leg and not getting it wrapped around the screw good.

Well, new day, new build. Wanted to try something I haven't seen on a veritas yet, so here it is:
Double horizontal coil using a single .28g wire. 5 wrap around a 2mm mandrel. Weighs in at .41 ohm

Was a pain in the rear to build, but I've enjoyed the results.

^ ^ ^ ^ I have another one in the mail and I may experiment a little once it gets here. At the moment, I'm too happy with my 1.3 ohm micro to try anything else. I may even try a mesh build on it once the new one gets here.

I watched several videos back when I was researching, and the amount of cotton used was all over the map, from short little wicks the just went to the bottom of the juice well to right above the coils on a duel coil build, to really long tails stuffed in the channels and juice well on a horizontal build. They all seemed to work ok.

I've been using short tails over to the top of the channels on each side, keeping the air hole down as I vape and tilting past horizontal every few puffs to saturate the wicks. I'm also refilling by popping my drip tip and dripping about 12 drops on the top of the reducer block. I tried through the air hole and didn't like it because it flooded the coil pretty bad.

I got my Tobeco clone yesterday and was having a hell of a time building on it last night. First I wrapped a 1.3 ohm coil and wasn't getting much vapor or flavor, just a bunch of air.

Then I wrapped a twisted .8 ohm coil and got pretty much the same outcome. Was I just expecting too much out of this thing or what?

I was expecting it to out perform my Lemo but it's not even close.

Maybe try less wick so there's some room in the chamber?

Are you trying single or dual coil? What resistance are you trying to attain? What mod are you putting it on?

Trust me, the Veritas rocks. It aint the atty, it's you. Let's see if someone here can set you straight.
I kinda figured it was something I was doing wrong, that's why I made the post.

I'd keep it as simple as possible. Single coil, say 28 ga kanthal, 2mm inside diameter, 10 wraps (gives about 1.5 ohms). Fill it with some cotton or rayon. Let the tails touch the floor and maybe an extra 1/8" or so but no more is needed. When threading the wick, make it so the wick drags through the coil but not enough to deform your coil. I tend to favor the "more is better" when it comes to the amount of wick that goes through your coil. I've experimented extensively and when you don't have enough in the coil you'll burn it.

When wrapping the leg around the positive post. Wrap it so that the wire gets tightened as the nut get tightened. Make sure the coil is as close to the air hole as possible. Also adjust the airhole size to see if that helps.

And keep a little clearance between the coil and air hole. 1 - 2mm. Keep the wick out of the way of the air flow too.

Wow, that is a lot of cotton. I guess that proves that as long as you keep the air flow open around the coil, you're good to go. It's hard to tell by the photo, but that looks to be a large diameter coil as well??

It's 28 gauge and about 2mm diameter (could be 2.5 to 3mm); about 1.3 or 1.4 ohm
