Errol, didn't even occur to me to check it with diff batt configuration. I'll try that just to make double sure that there's no way to get a reading. Crossing fingers. Thank you!!!

Seriously doubt it will make any difference but it's always wise to exhaust all possibilities.

Oh, and in an entirely unrelated matter... Chris, any chance of carrying something like a syringe tip screw on dispenser cap that comes with a 'click on' needle cover clear cap (just like the safety cover on syringe)? I've never found those anywhere, and it seems like such a simple concept, to me. lol Even something like the bottle w tiny tethered 'tip cover cap' that came in the Tox kit would be decent. Those might leak in a pocket or purse, but would at least be handy for home filling. I haven't been able to find anything with a very narrow nose that can be 'closed' without messily removing the dispensing tip and losing a lil juice each time, and having to wash tip. The luer lock tip is close, but not quite long and pointy enough for some stuff. I'm guessing if other vapers are anything like me, they might like the ability to 'close' pointy dispenser, too. And as much of the 'clearo tank' type stuff that needs a narrow nose for filling that you carry, figured you'd be the guy to ask. ;) Simple idea... clear 'click on' needle covers for syringe tips. Anything like that a possibility? I'd buy something like screw on syringe tip and cap set by the handful, just to avoid all the 'tip switching' and washing up.

Might try the Liqua bottles of juice;)

They have sort of a flexible needle tip nose and a screw on cap. No leaks and easy fill.

Appears to me the ultimo isn't being ask to do much more than the battery voltage can supply. Be curious to see what the under load voltage would be as the battery becomes depleted when it is set at 4v. Has anyone ever done a comprehensive test on it?

All of the 2.5A Lavatube type PVs and that includes the V1 Provari (and Tox if it has been working properly) are being ask to get 6v out of a single 3.7v battery and they don't do a bad job up to 10watts as long as the battery is at the high end of it's duty cycle. As the battery runs down the watts it can put out decreases. Hence any atty that was on the borderline of 10W will start losing voltage as the battery continues to discharge.

yeah its a mess but the company didnt back down at all and for that i credit them, i dont credit them for letting them out in the wold without proper cheking but thats china for ya. now they say progress is made and metal tubes will be made as well for the head, another few days and this should all be sorted out as to exactly whats going on.

this was kind of a shock sinse they are the ones who made the ultimo and those guts are impressive and it outputs well.

It's just a matter of numbers, bad. If these things won't put out but 4.2 volts max while in use, then they should say so. These people knew what they were doing and thought they could get away with it.

Otherwise, I don't really have any major gripes with my TOX. It can maintain 4.2 volts with just about any reasonable load until the charge is almost depleted, which is more than enough for me. As you know, I build my own cartomizers, so it's simply a matter of winding a coil with a resistance that suits me.

The one I made for the TOX works well enough for me at about 3 volts, but I can bump it up if have a need more. This thing really smokes at 4.2 volts, heheh.

Here are the plans I drew for making my TOX Tank:

TOXTank.jpg

Notice that the air intake is on the outside of the cartomizer and that it screws all the way down on the battery. Therefore, the juice cannot get inside the threaded part of the fitting.

My old camera can't take a decent picture, but here is a fuzzy shot of the real thing:

This one has a larger diameter than most of my other mods, but I'm getting used to it. For those of you who have not seen any of my earlier ones, they all have a removable mouthpiece that also seals the tank. Therefore, it is a simple matter to pull it out and squirt some juice in it straight from the bottle.

Very impressive work. I see that you're starting off with an acrylic rod, does that mean you do most of the work on a lathe or perhaps a vertical mill?

Thanks antfuzz,

Most of the work is done on a hobby lathe, but a drill press is used for a few holes.

The rods are cast acrylic, which is more machinable than extruded acrylic. It can be polished out to near glass appearance and can withstand any of the juices we use. However, it is breakable, so you can't beat on it with a hammer, heheh.

like a stardust tank br, i like it. i also have a way to remove any chance of gurgling, ill send you the pic br,

Thanks bad. I'll be looking for it.

But then, this last mod doesn't leak or gurgle. No condensation whatever. The larger cup allowed me to wind the coil somewhat different, and so far it seems to be an improvement. It's more of a spiral than a coil, and the gunk does not build up and bridge over between the turns. I dry burn it before it has a chance to bridge over and the wire only has a small amount of ash on it. So far, it's not enough ash to bother with. As long as this thing sizzles with each draw, I ain't gonna do anything else with it until it burns out.

Dang it br! I would love to make one of those, as a comparison product for tanks. It is always great to compare a retail unit, to one you can make yourself. I am going to see if I know anyone with that type of equipment! Awesome job!

You got the drawing for it, so have at it, heheh.

the stardust is the closest to br's, my fav top coil, but somehow br does it with long wicks and i don't tie them up to keep them away from the wall, somehow br's wick good with the wick cap action reduced by being on the wall, magic?

i bet we could sell tickets to his first attempts br, but it's a doable LD, the fit is so tight a lot of br's work is hand fit off the lath and you don't want to think what it takes to polish that plastic clear after it's all fitted!

It's not magic, Charlie. It's the br Touch. It's about time for you to come by here again and pick up one of my obsolete castoffs.

Ok, that is seriously awesome news. And I vape 1.7 resurrectors, and never ever want em as high as 4.7 (thats a really hot vape at 1.7...too hot for me). Perfect! You need to pat yourself on the back over this one, Chris. I'm so impressed you managed to pull this off! And metal heads, too!
