The only thing I've used on it is the ERA. I know that the ERA is problematic on it due to it's connector being too long so I have been pretty gentle with it. Either way, the center pin on the VVG connector seems to slide up and down very easily. At least if this happens to someone else they'll be able to read the easy fix.

The O'ring trick works pretty well with the ERA, this and screwing it genly on the connector, there shouldn't be any problem ;)

I just want to say thanks to Rob and the VVG for helping rekindle my love for the 801. I started on the 801 WAY back, but after finding that almost everything was going to 510, I jumped on that bandwagon. Outside of rba's, I've been a loyal 510 user. I just couldn't find anything that could cook the 801 like I wanted. And when I did find one, the Darwin, I was dripping like every 5 seconds. Outside of a rebuildable, and I can't seem to get a ERA, I'm finding that I like the mini 801 as much as the HH357. Any other 801-ers in this VVG group?

Haven't ever tried an 801 but I picked up some cool 801 drip tips and want to pick up an atty to run them on. What would you suggest?

Do they make any kind of an 801>510 adapter where I could use 801 drip tip on all my 510 devices? I found one for 306 but have not seen one for 801. Haven't really looked much yet though.

They sure do make them. Robert usually has some. I got some from him. He makes sure they are the right ones for our REO's. I have heard of some out there that are not well made.

You might shoot Robert a PM and see if he has any!

I use the Ikenvape 801's. I love them!

Not sure we are talking about the same thing. I have found lots of places that carry the 510>801 threaded adapters that would let you use an 801 atty on a 510 device but I am looking for a drip tip adapter. Something that would let you use an 801 drip tip on a 510 atomizer.

I do plan to try out the 801 stuff though like the Ikenvapes you mentioned as well.

You are right. I didn't read carefully! I don't know of any adapters for the drip tips.

This one may work, Email Mad Vapes and check on the size.

Let me see what I can dig up. I remember seeing something that would work just can not remember where right now.

I know way back we use to use our 510 DT's on our 801's I just need to sit and think about it LOL :)

Appreciate that MX. I actually have one of those and they are around 13mm so too big. Think I better just leave the 801 drip tips on the stuff it's made for :)

510 on an 801 would be much easier since the 801 opening is larger than the 510. Harder to go the other way though. Don't worry too much about it but if you think of anything, let me know. I have a couple of pv's with some brass on them and the brass drip tip would finish them off nicely but it's not a 'have to have or I am going back to cigs' kind of thing. LoL

looking to get one of these, as I've had multiple bottom feeders in the past couple of years (VV Ali'i, Reo Mini, Krimson Kustom's AA box, Vmod 2.0). Sorry, didn't search/read through this entire thread, but are all the current vv Reo Grand's using the larger button now? were the recessed buttons the '1st gen' of this mod? what seems to be the general consensus with the larger button vs the recessed one?

Lastly, I REALLY don't want to purchase new/more batteries. I still have a ton of AW IMR 14500's for my other mod's, and a bunch of AW IMR 16340's I used for my vv Ali'i. I'm assuming the 16340's will work fine (from what I've read so far), but will have shorter battery life? (more frequent battery changes).

Hello Fitdiculous I am no longer putting the small tact switches in the vv grands . I don't feel there durable enough .16340s will work but there will be some play . You can use them but I recommend picking up some 18350s

thanks for the quick response Rob. I loved my reo mini when I first got it, and actually had the button serviced with you. For whatever reason it doesn't hit as hard now, so it's just a nice looking paper weight now. The button is tight and the "springyness" is still there, but again, it doesn't hit as hard... really weird, and it's not the atty as I've tried the same atty on other devices. That's why I'm a bit concerned with the button on the vv Grand's. That being said, there is nothing that compared to it when it worked well, and I believe the vv Grand will still come with the same build quality but with the extra goodies...

are the 16340's just a hair shorter than the 18350's? overall diameter on the 16340's is smaller?

Are the ones posted on the site now just an initial batch with more styles to come out soon?

Ok The small tact switches in the vv grands . My gut feeling from the start was I wasn't a big fan of a tactile switch .The switch is rated for 500,000 cycles so it says . I ran the mod for months before releasing the mods no sign of problems from me or any of the beta testers except Clyde but hes evil on mods with electronics .There haven't been many switch problems but enough I can see a trend . I am known for building durable mods that just work I can no longer use a switch I am not comfortable with . I have searched for a perfect replacement there just isn't one . I have looked into having switches made for the mod they tell me sure but you have to order a minimum of 25,000 switches . So I am using a switch I no and trust to be solid. No need to get worried anyone that has a problem with a switch I will replace it at no charge as long as the mod was treated properly. I no most people prefer the recessed switch but there isn't one with the right specs for this mod . I have beat my head off the wall looking for the perfect switch . When I build a mod with the larger metal button I feel good about it . When I hold the mod in my hand and push the button I feel quality. I didn't have the same feeling using a tactile switch .

Take a small file or a emery board and lightly scuff the very point of the positive contact put a drop of noalox on the very tip the mod will run like it was brand new .

Yes 16340s are a whisker shorter but they will work if you wanted to tighten them up you could use a magnet spacer under the negative side of the batteries

There will be plenty of color options . I will be adding more all the time . I am looking at another switch but it has to be tested before I will use it .
