Yes the chip has over discharge protection . My batteries should be do to swap out soon I will take a reading when they quit. Mike may swing in and shed more light on the subject.I believe the cut off is 2.75 . I am not skilled in the field off vv electronics this is why I am using a chip from notcigs. I had to no it would be safe for my customers

I'm switching the position of my batteries about every hour of use, in Buzz Pro. First of all that is the best possible way to keep them as balanced as possible, for the longest, long term, life of battery. When I take them out they are both about the same voltage. I did measure them, when I was sick, but I don't remember what the voltage was. I measured when it just stopped firing and, also, several times right before the cut off point. Several times I've caught them probably right before cutoff which is when, I believe, the chip is going to cut them off in next hit or two. I did experience what appeared to be a lowered voltage, for one hit, but it hadn't cut off yet. I immediately took them out and put in fresh batteries. At least I think that's what I remember, in my weeks of diminished mental capacity when I had the flu and then bad cold.

I'll take more notice, now, and measure and write it down. I haven't used it in several days because the tank is empty and I didn't want to bother refilling the tank. (REOs are just so damn easy.... they make one a lazy vaper) I may have written it down before, but "the dogs probably ate the notes." (Jen)

I know it is not supposed to do that and it should just suddenly stop but I do think I have gotten a very subtle hint that the chip is going to cut off. In the BP I'm using AW 16340 3 volt LiFEPO4, and the 3.7 Powerizers, unprotected, that NotCigs/Mike recommends as being safe because of their/his chip, and, also, a set of AW IMR 16340s 3.7 volt. The chip regulates so that you can't tell if you are using 3v or 3.7v. It is hard to measure use time as I've been so ill AND I'm using several PVs at one time, REOs, BP, and SuperMini GLV, but mostly the REOs.

It seems to me that I have read that there is a set cut off voltage.

Hugs, Feisty Alice

Well, with the announcement from Robert that the sanding on the VV Woodvil's will probably be done by the first of next week I took a big step.
This morning I ordered batteries, and a charger. Guess that means I will one day have a VV Woodvil!

Next step is to order some of the HV atty's. I have looked at a lot of atty's lately. I realize that I can use a wide variety on the VV. But would like to find a atty at a certain ohm and stick with that. No experience here at setting voltage and dialing in perfection.

Robert told me that once I get a atty and find a voltage I can basically set it and forget it! I am thinking a 2.0 or 2.5 might be as high as I want to go at first.

Decisions, decisions!

Then we shall see on sale night if I am one of the lucky ones to come away with a first run VV Woodvil!

I'd never once thought you'd not buy one.:) Also "Unsure's Law" is always a smart idea tho I would have thought another charger would not be needed with all the REOs you have. The same chagers you use for your other REOs is the same for the VVs (18350s, 16340s etc)

I personally find the 2.5ohm attys to be perfect for VV with the voltage ranges the new REOs are gonaa have. YMMV. You really dont need anything HV IMO for the ranges the VV REO will have. Standard resitance 2.5-3.0ohm and LR 2ohm will be your best bets once again IMO.

Ordered my batteries yesterday, should be here tomorrow. I'll be crossing my two luckiest fingers in hopes that I am able to get one of these treasured VV's on sale night. I'll also utter a whisper in the wind that the site manages to accomodate the huge traffic spike that is bound to happen. 18490 sale night was a nail-biter, and I'm thinking this next one is going to be an even bigger event.

Now if there's a Bubinga/Curlymaple there to match my 18490 and I'm lucky enough to snag it, I'll be one happy vaper. :smokie:

I only have 1.7 and 1.8 right now. So anything above that is high to me! I realize that they are not HV really. But thank you! :)

No biggie Karen. You have plenty time to get a higher res atty for higher voltage vaping and you can still use your lower res attys on the VV too. I bought my wood 4 moths ago, batts and higher res attys 2 months ago. All premature purchases for sure but thats how I roll. Practicing on a loaner still has me changing what I think my sweet spot is. I may end up leaving it at a near a normal Woodvil voltage.

I was thinking I would need spacers for them in my Pila. Then I thought about charging lots of batteries like I do. With the 18350's in the mix, well, I grabbed the special charger for them. It was either that or more of other batteries. I was torn.........and got tired of going back and forth on what to do. After thinking about it though, I do have another Pila charger and I think another charger that might have worked. Oh well. Kim might need one or something! At least I know I can charge them right!

Randy's "dummy" batts work great for me on the Pila. Although I am getting to the point where I am seriously considering one of the bigger multi-bay chargers.

I have my ol' Tr-001 and the multi bay TR-003P4 which works more than fine for my needs. I have so many batts it really makes no difference.

I have a pila and I really like it but with using so many different mods I was think about a multi bay charger too anybody have any opinions about this? XTAR WP6 II sorry for going OT

I didn't get one cause it was overkill for me and it does come with spacers which is needed for some batts. That said everyone I know who got one really like it.

EDIT: Perhaps this subject is better discussed here...http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/reos-mods/269896-lets-talk-batteries.html

It works quite well with 18650's and 18490's. It takes 2 spacers per battery for the 18490's so I'm guessing that it will take 3 spacers per battery with the 18350's. I have very little experience with any other chargers but I'm quite pleased with this one.

Edited to add that you can buy additional spacers for just 45 cents each as I recall.
