Hello Munkey I am aware of the issue this is not the only case . I am pretty sure its the push button switch . I have one of the units that did this here with me I am testing .I replaced the switch and it has showed no signs of turning on by itself since . I have talked with Mike from notcigs about the issue he said worst case you will burn a atomizer - cartomizer there is no danger to the batteries . Send the mod to me I will repair it and get it back to you asap .
I only wish this would have showed up with the beta mods but it didn't . Others that are reading this it would be a good idea to turn your mod off while your not using it

I got an email from Rob about this one. These things happen in first production runs. There were a couple problems with the first production run of the Buzz Pro (I have serial number 031.) too. Not the same problem I'll add. But, a good vendor gets them ironed out quick notcigs did and I'm certain Rob will too.

So far, mines good. If it happens to me, I just hope it's something I can fix myself. I can solder. I like it too much to want to do without it long enough to send it back. :)

Send the unit to me I will make it right

So I screwed it up....I was really enjoying the art of non-dripping. I knew it wouldn't last long, good things never seem too. I'll send it back on Monday. Thanks for the reply and the fixing.
I don't think its anything you did .Cheer up my friend I will have the mod back to you quickly.

I'm so sorry to hear this, that was a beautiful REO! Hope whoever took it gets the ultra bad karma they deserve!
Sounds like its an issue for a tiny few VVs and not with the Woodvils. Not that it would have mattered. My new REO Woodvil lasted 24 hours.:grr: :-x While in the waiting room during my wife's dialysis I left to use the restroom and when I got back my new Woodvil was gone. I was the only one there and gone for just a couple of minutes. I asked around the people who work there and none of them seen anything or it. My wife was the only one having treatment when it disappeared so some there had to have taken it. They are lucky I didn't have my Python with me.....people are *ucked!!!!!

karla, im getting the same thing with the flavor, lol it gets into the tips i took my tip off and smelled it and its just like the wood, i think its more from the oil used to finish it. i took my door and and stuck it next to a fan to air it out, i dont really feel like getting coffee and rice and all sorts of stuff so hopefully it helps like that

i have no had any problems with it firing on its own yet, hopefully it was just a defect in a few of the boards and not as a whole, i woul hate to have my woodville recalled! lol the wood and grain and finish on this thing is amazing, i love how think the door is, and how precise and hidden the internals are, everything about it says good and hard work!

now to get the smell out of it and it will be perfect. hoepfuly airing it out will work out, ill let you guys know.
I'm going to try that on Monday too. Since you also have a Curly oak it must just stay in that wood longer too.

I have had to do it for all of my new Woodvils (not saying numbers but it is a few). I'm really sensitive to the finish odor and odors used to be my main Migraine Trigger. Coffee works better than anything. Some woods and/or finishes hold the odor longer some shorter. And it is dependent on which wood and which finish is used on the woods. Most, in the past, I've had to do a week, some longer, one for a month. I just started using my Bloodwood/Spalted, just now, and it's odor is less than the Curly Oak. It's been sitting in open room for 36 hours and has very little now. The Oak still has some odor but it has lessened in 36 hours in air.

BTW... the tongue, what most people consider to be our taste center, is only a small fraction of our ability to taste. Most of it is from olfactory sensors. The tongue can only distinguish a few. Some areas of the tongue are more sensitive to certain taste but they overlap. You've heard sweet, sour, salty, etc. You can do an experiment by closing your eyes and holding your nose and having someone give you bites of different tasting foods but with similar textures. It's difficult to distinguish between a lot of different foods if you can't smell them.

I've lived in a house with 6-10 GIANT and Large, country housedogs, for decades. And they are free to come and go muddy, wet, dusty, smelly, shedding, whatever and plenty of puppies in 30 years. So combating odors is a specialty of mine.

I tried all kinds of things to leach the odor of the wood finishes and the only thing that really worked was coffee.

Plenty of us have used it.

Mudflap has given advice about putting Woodvil into a rice cooking bag (I think that is what he said) to keep the coffee grounds and dust out of the chip and chip area. Or you can put a few inches of unused coffee ground in a plastic container, put a paper towel down, and place Woodvil on top of paper towel. Then seal container. Don't shake it. Check it first day several times. It may take only a day or so. Some may take more time.

The coffee odor does not stay in the Woodvil. I love all things coffee, that are consumable, but I can't stand to vape coffee or any juice that has the slightest bit of coffee taste.

It really works!!!!

Feisty Alice

Thanks. Yea it is curly oak. Mine is not oak and I can smell the difference in strength. His does have a much stronger smell. i though maybe it was because his might have been one of the last ones made or something but that would make sense that it is actually the wood that holds the scent longer. He will be happy to know it is just temporary. If it is still there by Monday I will just pick up some instant rice. I have plenty of coffee grounds already. I still haven't got mine working yet so I have only been using his occasionally and it doesn't bother me as much. Maybe when I get mine working he can use mine and I'll use his til it dims a bit since it seems mine is a lot less. He's really sensitive to smells anyways. This things are so pretty I could probably vape straight chemicals and still be happy just to look at their beauty. I've also noticed a significant difference in size between mine and his, I wonder if they all vary that much in size or if it's just the type of wood I got. Mine is much smaller which actually worked out great because I have smaller hands and it seems it fits better in my hand than his does. Although I would be happy with either. had I only gotten one I would probably never have known. hubby works nights so as soon as he gets up I'm sending him out to get the soldering iron so I can get this thing up and running. All I've been able to do is gawk at it for the last 24 hrs. We also only had 1 set of batteries til the mailman gets here so I really didn't lose anything by it not working yet. thanks for the advice!! Love the Woodvils in your avatar. Great choices. :thumb:

I just took some folks to jail. One was a young pregnant girl who was talking noise about wanting a cigarette. I showed her my VV Woodvil and vaped it for her. She was impressed. She commented about e-cigs being expensive and I reminded her how expensive a daily smoking habit can be. I gave her some quick words of wisdom about not buying gas station models or anything from the mall kiosk. Maybe she'll look into it when she gets out? I hope so.

I adore my VV Woodvil.
Sounds like it's time to start carrying a 'perp' tip so you don't get criminal funk on your own. Very cool of you to educate in the process of your duty.

You wouldn't think it possible, but that both sucks and blows. If I had a spare, I'd send you one. Sorry to hear, man.

Of course, ecigs didn't exist the last time anyone decided I needed a vacation... but I just can't imagine any of the fellows who ever hauled me away would have been nice enough to share any wisdom with me. Good on you.

Gil, it's worth calling back in a day or two to see if they 'found' it. I'm betting that whoever horked it will use it until the battery dies out, and upon finding that they can't get a charger for it at Wal-Mart will anonymously turn it in, claiming to have found it behind a chair or something.

I have contacted Gil. There might be footage of the area. He will let us know more later. Keeping my fingers crossed!

So So sorry for you. that is just so sad. Another reason I don't plan on taking mine out. Between keeping track og 3 little ones my purse, cellphone, and my husband, I'm sure to set it down and lose it. I have already almost lost a lavatube more than a few times at Walmart. I'd be a bity upset if I lost my lavatube but my new REO.

I would be devastated. who knows, maybe someone will get a guilty conscience and turn it in.

Gil- reading about your Woodvil disappearing from the waiting area of a medical facility.
I'm not pointing fingers but I wouldn't be surprised if it were someone there- there are ANTZ everywhere and they are often in places where folks are convinced that what we do is the same as smoking. So, no matter how much you ask, even if they were the ones, they are going to deny it. Really burns me up....I feel the anger for you!! I really do hope it turns up for you though buddy!!

Got my VV REO working. Yay. A little soldering and it's working great. Mine doesn't have the wood or chemical taste like the hubby's so it must be that the Curly Oak holds the scent mnore. I'm sure it will fade away soon. If not he can just use the coffee grains. Here's what they look like....again.

Great to hear, Karla!

So, once again the old adage that hard work pays off in the long run, but laziness pays off right now has been proven true. In a gambit to avoid a trip out to Home Depot over the weekend to pick up some Howard Feed N Wax, I stopped by our neighborhood Ace Hardware on the way home, and they had it on the shelf, just waiting for me.

One less trip out this weekend, and one day closer to vaping my Turley!
