My weekend went like this

Puff puff puff puff squank puff puff puff etc etc etc etc

I can't put this thing down.

I have a real problem...... What if it needs repair ever...... I don't think I can be reoless again ever. I have only one ;-)

Hmmmmm the wood is too nice for camping what if it gets scuffed or wet ?

Metal is impervious to water.

;-) Guess that settles it.

I NEED a vv Grand ;-)))))))

So sorry to hear that but as usual Rob's on it. He'll fix it and get right back to you asap. Sometimes bad components get thrown in to a batch and it impossible to test each and everyone one. The faster you get it back to him the faster you'll be back with your precious VV REO.

So to get a better feel for this; No one has reported that they have experienced them firing on their own days later? Right after they got them? I know, turn it off if not in use. I don't think I have a problem at all other than not putting it down.

Sorry to hear anyone having an issue. Best thing is Rob's SUPERB Customer Service and this forum of GREAT folks.

I have been using mine for a few days. I try to remember to turn it off at night. No problems so far. It has been on everyday, all day hours.

It does seem like the problem has been showing up after the first few uses.

You are totally right about Robert. He will fix and ship as quickly as possible.

I have never used the on & off switch on any of my REOs ever. Since I had mine for almost 2 weeks well before this incident it continued to be left on and never fired on its own. This just leads me to believe probably a few bad switches were in the batch but Rob would know best.

I don't see there being allot of them .Some bad switches in the batch it happens .
Best to turn the mod off when your not using it

Out of three VVW only one has exhibited the self firing. I have to send in a couple others, for minor issues (I've needed to send them back for many months but keep putting it off - one was totally my doing when I literally soaked the WOODs in a bowl of Howard's - wax got inside the big button - it stuck on - killed atty and collapsed a spring - I caused it to happen) so I'm just sending Curly Oak VVW back in with them.

ok, i used howards on the inside of mine, helped mask the finish smell too, and wow, ive never seen a mod soak up howards liek that, haha, i dont think ive used it on and unfinished portion though, so then i went back and did the inside of all my mods, anyways
i let it air out a few more days and it still had a little bit of the finish smell on it, but its not affecting the vape liek it was before, i love the size of it, its smaller then most VVs and fits perfect in my hand, the wood is flawless and beautiful. i cant complain about it at all. the button placement is seemless
overall this is one amazing mod!
only 2 small things i would want which isnt even a big deal is id like an extra magnet on the door so it holds it a little tighter, and second the wheel to change the voltage is extremely touchy, i wouldnt be able to set it without a meter. not sure if anything could be done about that anyways. heres a picture of my beauty! using some BWB Pear in it right now

So glad you are loving your VV Woodvil. Your picture of the back of Curly Oak shows the extra light flecks that are in some of the Curly Oak Woodvils. They are there to some degree in all of them but only one of mine has them heavy like yours. So glad you could catch it in a photo.

I haven't really been paying attention to the waxing thing.. but after reading up on it, I've decided to get some and wax mine also. Plus I've got some nice pieces of wood furniture that will benefit from this stuff as well :D I am an amazon prime member so I can get free shipping at amazon. I wonder if Lowes carrys it?

edit.. I don't see it at Lowes but Homedepot has it on their site for $8

I'm getting a gallon of the Howard's Sun to do some outside wood after a good cleaning, sanding, cleaning, drying. We tried to do our current Cedar Spa surround to a "silver" grey for 9 years. It just won't do it and insist on going to streaky dark grey. So I'm gonna scrub and sand it, where needed, and try some Howard's Sun to see what happens. Other woods need attention, too, but it's the largest, most noticeable. That's TREX decking. We were one of the first to use it in US.

BUBBLES................. Don't ask please. Lily Heeler saying, "What the ****!!!!!!" Newish door on spa surround. We don't like the look with our "rusticness."
