Gil its up to you I sent the notice out because I ran into some switch issues . It has nothing to do with draining the batteries its was purely a safety concern . I don't turn mine off but my switch has never acted up and I don't use a purse

Thanks Rob thats the reason I have never used the switch on any of my REOs but thought maybe this VV was different. My Tesla never leaves the desk and has never shown any firing issues while left constently on.

Darn, you're lucky. I returned from vacation and set up my second VV Woodville last night and it also has firing problems, like my other one. Actually, it's worse; it doesn't "sometimes" fire on its own, it ALWAYS fires if the bottom left switch is on. No matter what I push or how hard, if there's batteries in it, it's firing. I'll have to send both of them back, although I'll probably do it in two steps since the first one is mostly working.

If I didn't have absolute faith in Rob, I wouldn't have four REOs right now, so please don't take this as an insult; but, are these units tested before they are shipped? I understand the intermittent switch problem might be difficult to catch, but it seems unlikely that this other unit was working at all when it left Maine. Anyways, I know he'll make it right and am not the least bit concerned about anything except the very slight inconvenience (and that's what backups are for.)

Hello Munkey yes every unit is tested .When I say tested i mean the mods all have atomizers on them and tested to fire . I have never had switch issues of this kind I wasn't looking for the problem. I never gave leaving batteries in the mods for a prolonged time to check for something like this . I beta tested 7 mods and none of them had the issue

No worries Rob, I'm not trying to criticize you -- I can't imagine building over a hundred units like this by hand and definitely appreciate the work you do. To have all the units be error-free would be impossible. I am just a little bit perplexed by this particular model (Zebra/Birdseye, if it means anything) because it is not an issue of "prolonged time" -- it fires 100% of the time and there is no stopping it, starting with the very first second I put batteries in it. I am sure it is just a short of some kind in the switch, and it will be fine once it is replaced.

If it means anything, I would buy them again (given the chance) and I would pay more than you asked. I am extremely lucky to have gotten anything at all during the sale, much less two very pretty models.

Thank you munkey I appreciate it . Believe me this bothers me more then anyone . Its definitely some bad switches . Makes me wish I would have used the cheaper models I use to use I never had problems with them .

Good Day Fine REO Folk. Have just a second. Haven't done any reading since Wed. Really, really, busy. Lot's of frustrations and feeling really b*tchy and irritable. No one dieing or sick here, thank doG. Not sure when I'll have time to get back and catch up. Hope all are doing okay. Find some happy. (I'm glad DH is out of town as I hate being such a b*tch to him, dearest husband, most of the time.)

Finally had a Beerita Wed night. I can't drink much beer as it doesn't agree with me like wine and liquor, but it was really really good. Service at The Oasis was p*ss poor. Don't want to raise a stink as we love it there and we don't want anyone spitting hockers in our food.

Newest Purple Grand came in. Pictures maybe tonight after I get a Flitz cleaning and polish, on all, done. It is very different from the old ones..... mainly virtually no milling lines inside REO. I'll have to ask Robert about that. The color is close to the old purples I'm happy to say. It is obvious that the anodizer is different (and maybe miller and tumbler) but very nice. Hoping to get a VV Grand in purple for collection along with "rough and carry" Silver.

Extremely happy to report that "self firing," at first, VV Curly Oak has not done it since Wed. in continuous use. I'm glad I didn't send it back to Robert. After another week or so I'll turn it over to DH as it is was his intended VV Woodvil.

I did Terry, Tmcase, a small favor and she sent me a GORGEOUS Trippy Tip holder!!! And it fits in my media storage cabinet, now REO storage and display, with glass doors, and doors close all the way!!!! Just as I do with anything touched by any REOnaut, it gives me warm snuggly feelings just looking at it. It couldn't be more Perfect!!! And it is a very fine example of great craft person skills. It will hold other DTs worthy of display but it is soon to be filled with Trippy Tips. (I'm keeping my TT collection down to keeping only those that will fit in Terry's holder, 27, so I'll be doing some culling when I have time.)

Good day, all.

I am wondering if anyone else is having discoloration of their catch cup. Mine is darkening/tarnishing (for lack of a better word) inside and outside.

Dont get me wrong. I have no complaints. I love my mod, just curious.

All my brass catch cups have tarnished at first. Not a green but a charcoal black color. I assume its my juice that I use. It goes on for a couple months while I clean it and it comes back. Eventually it has quit on every one thats a few months old or older so I assume my VV will quit tarnishing in another month or so.

I've always believed that the brass affects the taste for the first couple of months too until my favorite flavors impregnate the brass. But it also takes a few months to get the finish taste out as well for me. Either way every wood REO i have has taken a few months to reach peak taste.

The two I always have boba's in ( I know your a fan) actually turn bright yellow after the first few months. Not a brass yellow but a really bright color of yellow. Once that happens I know I'm in good shape from then on. The yellow is only on the bottom and slightly up the side where juice tends to sit more often than not.

Mine get a slow, normal aging patina. I'm convinced it is entirely the juices we use that keep it from changing too much. I prefer the patina and avoid removing it. Our juices don't do any changes to non-glass tanks or o-rings either. Very benign juices. Oh, and.... The one brass DT I have doesn't get any changes other than slow patina either.

okay our first hours:
gave the inside a good feed and wax this afternoon and after dinner we set them up and started vaping them. gosh, im allready in love with them, even tho we are still breaking in the atty's, the batts the mod and ourselfes thought i would find them a tat too big after those mini's, but nope do like the size, like it that everything is bigger they feel so nice in my hand, i do like wood a lot! gosh, and they are just plain beautifull, we are really happy with them, thank you rob, you did a magnificent job!
