i havent metered them as i dont have a working meter. the first 2 i bought from i believe lighthound?? they sat around brand new for a month or so before i got my vv. for some reason they didnt work when i got my vv but for like 15 hits then stopped. the other4 i got from rtd last week. they came uncharged and both of the first 2 charged fine and went finefor a day or so. when i loaded 2 new ones in they wouldnt work but said they were charged on charger. the ones i took out only 1 would charge..the other said it was charged already even after being used all day yesterday. im just about to put the one that charges back in the vv to see if it works again.

You said WF-188? Right? I had one go wonky on me. First month one channel started varying charging and drained batteries. I caught it fast and took it out of service by putting a 6ml bottle in the bay. A few months later the second bay started doing the same but didn't notice it soon enough and it drained several older AW IMR 14500s down enough to kill them. They read 0 volts. It went straight to recycle bin. (I was topping up a bunch of old AW IMR 14500s that were little used so they were virtually "in storage.") The green "battery finished charging" light came on indicating full charge but they all came off first bad bay under expected 4.2v. I didn't do enough batteries, in that bay, before taking it out of service, to know if any would have been totally discharged. The remaining bay was the one that killed batteries as I wasn't paying close attention and left them on charger, some for many hours, after the light turned green. In both cases the green light came on so if there is any question about the charger don't use it!!!!!! You really need a functioning multi-meter to know what is going on with your batteries!!!!!!!

I frequently leave batteries on chargers over night expecting the charger to function properly and not over charge or discharge them. Not the best practice but I'm not alone in doing this. Note......... I always unplug lithium chargers when leaving house. Due to the chemistry of lithium batteries it's okay to interrupt charging cycle and restart it. I don't interrupt Ni-MH charging, though, so I do leave house with them on plugged in smart chargers. Ni-MH is a much safer chemistry while charging or discharging.

Hugs, Feisty Alice

{edit} Thinking back, like Dave said, sometimes the indicator light would turn green seconds after battery put in bay, for some batteries. This happened with both bays that went wonky.

Just got my Reo back(for the 2nd time) after a 10 day wait. That was the longest 10 days....probably since I was a kid waiting on Christmas or my birthday. I've told my wife at least three times today how much I enjoy not having to drip. Her response is just so, well..like .."OK honey, I know, you told me already". She just doesn't get it, does she? Anyway, man is it nice not to have to drip!

For the record, I just could never get comfortable with the wood. I will be buying a VV Grand when they are available. And since it cost me nearly $230, I figured selling it for $245 was not a stretch considering paypal fees and shipping. I believe I am breaking even with this when all is said and done, maybe I am on the plus side by a dollar or two. I think we all know I could have gotten MUCH more than I asked. All I wanted to do was cover my costs. I am also selling a used Grand at what I believe is very fair price, but that is neither here nor there. I don't even know why I am writing this. The Reo forums feel like the last place where I need to defend myself...

Hope everyone has a wonderful night!

Nah, you don't need to defend your actions. I love my VVW, but my Grand is still my #1 mod. I know where you're coming from.

I know the moment has passed but I really need to address this. This is not targeting anyone who has already posted. This is for those who will come in and read this later.

Borrowed from an earlier post I made: Hey guys, let's not trash on him. There aren't any rules against this...meaning he is free to post his price, and no one is being forced to buy it at his price. Please remember that it is too easy to turn this into a personal thing. Besides, he's one of us...a guy who loves his REOs. Most of you don't remember because you weren't here back then....but we let this get out of hand once before and drove a fellow REOnaut out of here and out of the ECF altogether. Haven't heard from him since, and he was really struggling with his addiction in a bad way. :( Worse than that...several other REOnauts chose not to come back here as they were embarrassed by the way a few others were treated over similar classifieds posts. No one is saying you are not entitled to your opinion...but it is how you express that opinion that is key.

And just in case anyone has forgotten the Classies rules...please don't post any complaints or challenges about the price in that thread. Besides it being in poor taste, It will get you in trouble with the mods without a doubt.

In the meantime, if it gets ugly in here later (meaning any abuse or harassment)...I will take care of it. Thank you in advance for keeping this in mind before this gets out of hand.

Well I was finally able to start using my vvW gorgeous solid Bubinga last Sunday. Had a problem getting rid of the wood smell/taste. After hours of it in front of a fan, buried in coffee grounds for 4 days, 2 inside coats of Howard Feed-N-Wax, a new atty, new juice and running Vodka thru the tube there was still a little wood taste left and I decided to vape thru it. Thank heaven after a few hours it was gone and now I can finally enjoy it, which I am immensely.

It was a very discouraging time and I had thoughts of putting it aside and wait to buy a vv Grand and then sell the vvW. Since my 3.7v Grand and Mini are getting concrete battle scars from being too much in a hurry and the vvW is a stay at home only, it makes sense to buy a vvG, because it will be my everyday work horse and the Mini is my stealth companion when I'm out on the town.

But all is good and now I can agree with everyone posting enjoyment of their vvW. I'm still going to buy a vvG because I like the ruggedness of metal and vv is so consistent with so much flavor. I'm hooked. Life is getting better thanks to Rob at REOS Mods.

Those of you that are still experiencing the wood smell/taste, don't give up trying to get rid of it. Believe me, it's worth the effort.
