CASAA has created "No Smoking" door and window stickers for use at establishments that allow the use of electronic cigarettes. These signs are a simple way to help people understand that it is NOT smoking and we have made these available for only the cost of shipping:

Mechanically speaking, vaping is very much like chewing gum: There's no real way for people to stop you from doing it discretely, but common sense tells us that it can be inappropriate in certain situations to do it openly.

I suppose the freedom to vape could be equated to the freedom of speech in this sense. Having freedom of speech doesn't mean it's acceptable to walk into a kindergarten class and say ":censored: :censored: and :censored: your :censored:, too." :p

I vape in the exam room with my doctor in there! Now in a place like Walmart, I wouldn't do it walking in there, but do it discreetly while I'm in the store. If I get reported, then I will educate the powers that be. The only place I would not vape is in church and that is due to respect for God. Anything other than that is fair game!:D

I always carry my Janty Stick v3 around my neck on a lanyard and vape in the Dr exam room (in front of Dr, who approves) and while shopping. I go to Walmart and freely vape my JS, I guess it looks like a medical device, nobody has even looked at me funny.

Walmart does NOT have any restriction to e-cigs (or at least it's not enforced) because a guy right in front of me at the checkstand was holding an analog-looking e-cig in his mouth, vaping while he was checking out. Nobody said a word.

I think that the solution is to carry a device that looks nothing like a cigarette. A boxmod, small tube mod, JS, Reo Mini, there are a lot of choices that do not resemble the dreaded ciggie. And hanging around your neck on a lanyard is even better than trying to be sneaky.

I am not trying to hide anything or do anything illegal, I am just vaping while shopping.

I figure if I could shop at Walmart without lighting up an analog when I was a smoker, I can certainly manage without vaping while I'm in the store. It simple common courtesy, you don't do something in someone else's home or business that they don't want you to do, whether you agree with it or not. There's always the option of going elsewhere if you don't like their rules.

Pammers, I guess the policy on vaping varies from store to store. Our local super-center appears t be vaping-friendly. Not even customers say a thing. Guess I'm lucky :)

You are lucky. I would expect some customers to complain just because they can, not because it actually bothers them. Some people are just like that. I recall a few years ago, my husband I and were planning on putting new cabinets in our kitchen. He told me to sit down and draw out what I wanted. I was sitting at the table chewing on the stub of a white pencil while I pondered. My sister-in-law came in and immediately started coughing, saying my cigarette smoke was killing her. She's always been a bit dramatic but that cracked me up. The pencil wasn't even lit.

A friend of mine on a flight to Germany. He titled it Verbotten!:laugh:

I haven't vaped in stores yet. I sometimes vaped at my desk, after asking the other 3 office mates if they minded; they didn't. However, since my boss walked in and claimed a contact nicotine high, I go out to the smoker's section at work sometimes. If asked to do so, I put it away. Respect for others who are looking right at me is key. :p

I think it's just your own attitude .. everybody sees the mod hanging around my neck, they see me taking drags on it from time to time. I hold the vapor in for a bit, it cuts down on the cloud of vapor. I don't go down the aisles playing Thomas The Train, neither do I take a toke in a group of people. But I don't hide it either. I just act like there's nothing wrong with using my device, because there isn't anything wrong.

I just ordered a few. Since I stopped smoking after 37 years, my son and his fiance, have started using ecigs as well. The other son is getting a PV for Christmas, because I think he'll like it. Those are PERFECT! Joined up, too. Those are PERFECT, thank you very much!

I hate these discussions. Vaping and smoking will be treated the same no matter how we argue about it. Look at it this way I'd say it's probably a safe assumption that 80% or more of us that vape are ex smokers. We didn't smoke in walmart or on planes, etc. We're not losing anything but not still partaking of our habits in those spaces and we're doing a lot for our own good by NOT pulling negative information. Yes you're not smoking, you're better than a smoker, etc. However, sitting in a non smoking area and pufifng away on something IS going to get you attention and arguing with some one uneducated about it is going to just end up in negative information. 1 out of every 10 people MIGHT get it and be like "Oh, ok" most people are going to be like "I don't care, you're still blowing junk into my air".

If you're the guy or gal thats making people annoyed because you've got the attitude that it's different and you can vape anywhere you want then you're hurting the cause. Treat em like cigarettes and revel in the fact tha tyou're not killing yourself or stinky.

One of the big selling points of pv/e-ciggs is being able to use them where smoking is not allowed (which is almost everywhere these days ). So I don't fully agree with the don't vape where you can't smoke philosophy. I do however believe in respecting the comforts of others when deserved. Being told theres no smokeing while I'm vaping hasn't happened to me YET. I vape just about everywhere I go, and I get alot of querries of, is that one of those electronic ciggerettes, do they work, how do you like it? Granted I don't go down every aisle of the grocery store exhaling plumes upon plums of vapor either. A couple of puffs then back in the pocket (as that is my natural vaping habit anyway). Now if someone saw me and ask me politely not to smoke I guess I would try to educate them a little about vaping. If they still ask me not to vape, I wouldn't vape. Now if they where rude in their approach, I would still try to educate, and if that didn't work you can bet I'll be rude right back. (The golden rule works both ways)
