NorCal - The place to be!
I just don't like shopping for very long. Unless its pv stuff online. That I apparently have an endless appetite for.

Haha you said it! I feel EXACTLY the same way. Food shopping, s u c k s! But when I'm at home at my PC, I'll spend HOURS looking at all the ecig sites, checking prices, looking for new stuff. That is awesome, so much fun. But hanging out with a bunch of strangers in a big store pushing a cart around - hate it.

The vaping in Walmart thing, I posted a thread about that not too long ago. I was using a small 2-AA boxmod with a neck lanyard. I vaped all over the store, and had absolutely no problems, but then again I think that might be because it looked less like a cigarette and more like some sort of medical apparatus for an asthma patient. I'm a little more discreet about it now, I don't wanna give vapers a bad rep. But I ask if I can alot, explaining what it is, and usually get a yes. With permission, I've vaped in taxis, restaurants, and a few other types of places. But I agree that being "in your face" about it will not help our cause. When I need to vape and I'm somewhere and I don't know if it's cool. I stealth... hold it in to reduce vapor on the exhale. Hey when you gotta vape, you gotta vape, right? Peace, love, and super thick, dense clouds of vapor to all my ECF friends!

I agree that we vapors should be courteous and of course not be blowing clouds of vapor right in someone's personal space (there is the right time and right place to vape to some degree), but at the same time, the vapor that we exhale is harmless to others and should of course be allowed just about anywhere. It just burns me up that just because it looks like smoke it is treated as such by the ignorant. So some ignorant fools are going to be offended because of how it looks (like we are smoking) -I say heck with those type of people! -I might be offended by how they look, how they are chomping on their gum, how they smell of B.O. or whatever cologne they are wearing while they are standing in line next to me, or how stinky their lunch is that they just heated up in the breakroom at work, or I might be annoyed by their strange behavior, or offended by them sneezing and coughing next to me in whatever public place we are in...yet I am not going to tread on their rights to carry on doing what they are doing, so why should they tread on mine? We need to take a stand to this sort of invasion into our personal rights! -it's like telling someone who is addicted to gum that they can't chew it around you. We need to educate educate educate! I will not be told that I have to go into a smoking area and be around smoke breathing it in and end up stinking like I just smoked in order to vape!-although I do enjoy to sit outside on the park bench in the smoking area at my workplace and watch the smokers look at me oddly -then every once in a while one will ask me about my PV and I will gladly educate them :) If we vapors do not stand up for our personal rights and stop hiding our vapes, then we are just going to end up being shunned just like smokers. Vape on, vape proudly! :vapor:

As I walked into Walmart yesterday I exhaled a large plume of vapor, the greeter told me I couldn't smoke in the store.

You were asking for trouble. You know good and well that they'll have people at the door, you made a scene, they asked you to quit.

I often vape in WalMart when I go, never had a problem. But I don't do it at the front door or while I'm standing in the checkout line. I don't walk into a crowd of people and blow out as much vapor as I can. I don't stealth vape, but I try not to make a scene.

You were looking for trouble, and now you're complaining.

I don't treat vaping like it's smoking, because it's not. But when you are some place where smoking isn't allowed and you're purposefully trying to draw attention and make a scene, you get no sympathy from me.

Maybe we should all ban together, every ECF member, and write (petition them?) to the big-wigs that run places such as Wallmart, etc... about our views about our rights to vape in public places, and show them the studies done about the safety of e-cigs, and point out to them that we should not have to go to smoking areas to have our vape, nor hide in a bathroom to vape, and educate them about the fact that we are NOT SMOKING, and that vaping around others is about as harmless to them as them breathing in fog (actually probably less harmless due to the polutants in the air). Who's with me on this?

I'm certainly with you.
Now you just need to find a way to accomplish this.

Getting the vaping world to care enough to do something is not as easy as it seems it would be.
I've been trying for almost two years now, as have many of us.
:(

Just don't vape where you can't smoke...problem solved. :)
I don't agree. Since we are NOT smoking. Theres no reason why we should adhere to smoking restrictions.

Heres what I would do in that situation. I would say "its not smoke, its water vapor" as I continue walking. Anything the greeter might say after that will be to the back of my head. I'm not gonna stand there and argue... and I'm CERTAINLY not going to refrain from vaping just because one imbecile doesn't know what an e-cig is. Until I see a "No Vaping" sign on the door, I'm doin' it.

Would you, or do you, vape out loud in a movie theater?

Yes, I most certainly would... and WILL next time I go to one.

In all honesty, I'm not interested in making a scene... so if its too cramped and my vapor is flowing around and getting in people's faces, I'll do what others in this thread say they do. I'll blow it in my shirt... but I refuse to not vape at all while I'm in there. If I blow into my shirt and someone STILL has a problem, they can kiss my white a**.

HOOAH Sarge! I can see the logic of both sides, though. Hey I don't want vaping to be banned everywhere, it's how I get through my day with no cigs...but if I can't vape now, what's the point anyway?

I'm with you on that, as one of my previous posts will attest.

But you do admit a certain level of restraint is needed under certain cirumstances.
And that is what we are talking about here.

There IS a line, and crossing it can be perilous for all of us.
And not crossing it can be perilous for all of us.

Welcome to a new world.

Having to sit there and explain everything to someone is annoying and distracting. Don't wanna miss part of the movie to argue with someone.

Well, maybe your vaping equipment is not fully functional.

But if I vape out loud in a move theater, I'm gonna piss a lot of people off.
Because I blow CLOUDS.
:D

Like I said, I haven't been to one yet (since I started vaping)... but I've been to walmart, IHOP, the barber shop, grocery store and various other establishments and vaped right out in the open. Not one single problem. I get strange looks sometimes but it goes no further than that. Oh and btw, my equipment is working properly. Wanna see?...
