Hi sanderk1! It is hard! At least it was for me. I am just now really getting comfortable with vaping instead of smoking and used to have killer cravings!! I haven't smoked any analogs at all and am glad I made that choice for me. For some, tapering off the analogs is a better choice. The cravings do lessen with time and vaping experience. I think it has to do with the smell and the other chemicals that you don't replace with vaping. Give it time, it gets a lot better!!!!:vapor:

ETA: Throatkick, I wanted to like your post, but the like is gone along with the social media clickies.

Maybe allow yourself a limited # analogs for a while. It'll help the cravings if you don't feel like you'll never smoke again. After a few days your body/brain figure out that vaping is good and the analogs will taste nasty.

What worked for me may not be everyone's way but is an idea.

Good Luck w/ the switch! Quitting smoking is a big challenge. Congratulate yourself for taking the first step and vaping. The rest will take care of itself.

I had the same problem so here is what I did:

I vape normally fruity or dessert types but I keep a couple strong tobacco sample sized bottles around in camel flavored juices. I found the "extra toxins" in the cigs is what I was actually craving, not the taste or nic. I'll drip a couple drops into whatever atty I'm using and basically the taste is tricking my body into thinking its getting a analog smoke. I did have a week of take a couple hits and put it out while trying this method but hang in there and it will go away. By the second week, I didn't even want the tobacco taste anymore and gave it to my husband. I still keep a little bottle in case I "need" it but so far I havn't
had to use it for awhile.

Good luck and stick to it!! It's your body withdrawing from the analog toxins IMO and its a bit confused.

I also use an Ego T with cartos and SCCT (along with others) the dual coils (To ME) are not warm enough, the Boge 2.0 ohm and the Smoketeck 1.7 ohm are MUCH warmer/better vapes IMO. YMMV as always
What is SCCT? I might have to try your suggestions too. So far today I have placed orders with Vaporkinds dual coil tank and MFS for ego t to c converter kit and cartos... getting expensive but still cheaper than smokes if I make the transition!

What worked for me:

- Use low-resistance atomizers, and drip. This makes for intense flavor and vapor production.
- Allow a few cigarettes each day - whichever ones are the toughest to let go of. For me, it was the first one or two of the day, then that last one before I went to bed.
- Never let go of the PV, and never worry about using it too much. Just don't let go of it - when that craving for a cigarette hits hard, just puff on the PV. After a while, your brain will understand that this is satisfying the addiction.

In my case, once I managed to go off analogs for a few weeks, I tried one cigarette, which most people would say is a big mistake. In this case, because I used the LR atty, I found the cigarette much less satisfying than vaping, and have never been tempted since.

You only get nicotine (not the other chemicals you are withdrawing from)...

That's the crux of it. Nicotine ain't the whole of it.

There's a very long laundry list of chemicals associated with incinerated tobacco, and a number of them are of the feel good variety. You may not be consciously aware of their interaction, but your body knows—and will never forget.

I've been vaping for a year and a half, but there's certain circumstances—immediately after a good meal, for instance—in which my body still cries out for a Marlboro.

The good news is that vaping supplies 95% or so of the smoking equation. That leaves you with just 5% to manage on your own.

Single Coil Tank Caromizer (a carto with a punched hole (or slotted) that goes into a tank with one single coil)

Speaking of "Cost" do not forget to figure health care cost "down the road" IF you keep smoking, tens of thousands of $$ (or more) you just may avoid by vaping makes the $ easier to spend now IMO :2c:

So true! I have ordered all kinds of new stuff so hopefully I can add the smoke free banner to my sig soon! Thanks for your input.

I've been vaping for probably about a month now. When I started, I was still smoking two analogs a day. After I bought some vapor at 24mg instead of 18mg, I immediately was down to smoking a half - 1 analog first thing in the morning. I've only had two in the past week.
Vaping is so different from smoking analogs that it took a little while for my body to realize that it's still getting what it's craving. There's a smoke shop by my house that sells a single stick (out of a pack) for 65 cents, so when I REALLY just want an analog I just buy one.
The more you vape and the less you smoke, the less your body notices the difference.

Not to mention vaping tastes SO much better!!

Just wanted to add.. The first bit when I started vaping I had the same craving, I figured it was because of the flavours....I felt like I had eaten something and therefore it was time for a smoke lol. That feeling passed fairly quickly. now I mostly crave an analogs only when I'm mad or severely stressed, but vaping forces me to slow down and helps me relax, so it's starting to replace that craving in my mind. Besides analogs now make me very nauseous. So I can't smoke em even when I want to.

Long story short.....it gets easier :)

Sorry for the bad punctuation and grammar.... I blame it on typing while holding my pv

I did not read the whole thread.

1 - you need enough hit/heat to provide what you want to feel when you drag and that may require bigger or different equipment

2 - You need to work to find juices with aroma/flavor that makes you go ahhh. And I recommend just high in PG if you want the nicotine hit to come through well

3 - New vapers need to figure out what juice flavors/aromas satisfy them and which, if any, do the OPPOSITE. Some new vapers cannot vape food flavors because the food flavors make them feel like they just ate and make them crave an analog. I was like that and I have run into others here with that problem. Some other new vapers do fine with food flavors but can't vape tobacco flavors because they remind them of cigarettes and make them want one. And some new vapers can vape any flavor and be satisfied. You need to figure out which you are and for now, avoid any flavor types that give you analog cravings.
