Want blue foam for 901 whistle tip carts - Any thicker blue foam?

Hi -

I have Marineland Rite-Size U Blue foam. I am looking for some thicker blue foam so I could cut plugs from for 901 whistle-tip carts. These carts have a semi-circle shaped juice cup, larger in all dimensions than the thickness of Rite-Size U.

Any ideas?

dunno. i use the rite size u just fine. i just cut it a little wider than the cart and then taper it to a v for inside

In the whistle tips? So you are laying one layer flat into the top of the semicircle and it stays there? Somebody else said they tried all kinds of ways with the 901 whistletips and got lots of leaks.

yup i just use one piece going right down the tube. the foam seems to fill the rounded part nicely. I do only fill it just past 3/4 full. but i get no juice in my mouth


if that doesn't work for you, i have seen a white fluval foam at pet stores that is way thick, but not dense

You can try marineland 'v' size filter sleeves. They are thicker. They work for me when used with straw.

Is that V foam a bit coarser (bigger holes and a bit stuffer) or about the same? I got some filter foam on Ebay that is thicker but stiffer and with bigger holes but I haven't tried it yet. And I will try the blue foam too. My cart stuffing has been good about wicking and still tastes OK since I've stuck to dessert flavors in this cart. But soon it will be ready for playing with foams. Funny - I would have never ordered whistle tips on purpose (so cigar-holder looking) - I just didn't understand the photo. But I really like them.

I actually didn't try blue foam yet. But the "v" size filter sleeve is made of fiber and I am able to get nice flavor and vapor with a straw inside the cart filled with the sleeve.

I do it and no leaks for me either
