Hey folks, Im new here. Been vaping for (and analog cig free) for 8 months now. Id really like to start mixing my own e juice but Im a bit confused on a few things. Im currently purchasing 11mg nic liquid and would like to have the option to mix lower & even no (0%) nic liquids at this point. Im not 100% sure the exact difference between PG & VG in terms of vaping. I hear of some using one or the other or even a mix of both. my questions there would be:
1-does one vape better than the other?
2-does one taste better than the other?
3- basically unsure on wich to buy or both and why?

Next Ive looked up a few mixing calculators to help familiarize myself with what exaclty is going on. Most everything makes sense exept for when it asks the % of flavoring. I have no idea what % of flavoring I need! I was assuming this has to do with how powerful the flavor would taste after mixing but Im just not sure where to start there:
1- basically need to know what exactly this means?
2- what if im mixing 2 or more flavors?

Any imput on the subject would be appreciated. Im guessing this subject has been beaten to death and if so Im sorry for that, I did look around and could find answers to the questions above. Thank you for your input & happy vapin'

PG is the thinner of the two and is harsher and has better throat hit.
VG is thick and is smoother and very little throat hit.

I prefer VG but that's an individual choice. Many use a mix of VG & PG.

In my signature is a link to Wellness: Wrecked & Bonkers. There is a Recipe thread that has links to several calculators.

Excellent, thanx for the links and calculators. A huge help! If you dont mind me asking is there a particular place or most common place where most get thier PG & VG online? Basically Ive heard the horrer stories of some companies selling lower quality liquids....Im sure theres thousands of places to shop for it online, just thought there may be a better, more well known site known for thier great products.....much appreciated folks!!

Especially the precautions on handling nicotine:

I bought my VG off amazon:
Amazon.com: Glycerin Vegetable Kosher USP - 1 Quart: Health & Personal Care
PG and nicotine from nicvape:
##NicVape## - Online Store
Capella's having a $1 shipping sale.
Drinks For Diabetics | Homeopathic HCG Drops | Flavor Drops
I ordered my Flavour Art flavorings from ecigexpress:

Good luck. :vapor:

PG is not harsh by itself.

PG is thin and lets through the harshness and TH of nicotine better. It also lets through flavor better.
VG is thick and dulls the harshness and Th of nicotine, smoothing the vape. It dulls flavors and adds more visible vapor.

Most people like a blend. People who like some TH or who use tanks need high PG blends. I also think high PG blends work better in cartomizers and help cartos last longer. My thicker juices degrade the performance of a cartomizer more quickly.

I recommend you visit the DIY section of ECF and read the guides, especially the lists of various flavoring brands and which flavors are not good for vaping

Great info & huge help. Ive read a ton & learned alot recently! I currently use the Totally Wicked Titan with the Tank atty & tip. Been vapin thier stuff since almost day 1 of vaping (Aug '10) (a few other huge fails at 1st that didnt even last 1 month)...I know they have PG & VG(now AG), I really just wanted to hear where some other common places to order from were. There is a TW store right up the road from me here in Bradenton, Fl., so It was easy & convenient to stop by & grab some juice as I needed it. I went to 11mg nic about a month or so ago and realize Im just paying more for fillers at this point. Plus they have been pulling the majority of thier store inventory to replenish thier internet stock as thats where the bulk of thier sales comes from....so convenience & supply has been getting a bit nill lately.....
Looks like Im going for a 90/10 PG/VG mix, probaly a lower nic level of about 8mg and will slowly fizzle out the nic over the next few months...will most likely remain vaping at 0mg as I really do enjoy it...
Thanx a bunch for the input! I really appreciate all the info & links, really pushed me in the right direction & I really learned more than I thought possible in the day or so!!
