Ok...after vaping on my Buzzpro for 4 months now (which has been a good experince) I think Im ready for my first Reo... the main reason being is I only seem to get two days of good vape from a carto before it starts to clog and taste burnt (about 15ml of juice). I was hoping maybe getting off cartos would solve this issue.

Now with that said my questions:

1) How long does an atty last you on a Reo?

2) I havent had the best of luck dripping attys. I put in 2 drops and I get maybe 4 vapes then burned atty. I put in 2 more drops and FLOOD (even though I had burned atty taste just before). How does the Reo work any different from dripping? How do you know when to squeeze the bottle? Do you have many issues with flooding? (I know, I know...I have a number 2 there and asked 4 questions in one... lol)

Thanks in adavance all... :vapor:

Welcome, FAAmechanic! :)

1) It all depends on the atty....and the user. I have had really good luck on nearly all the atties I have used. For me, I tend to get about 2 months worth on average out of an atty. This is not typical from what I understand. What is my secret? I'm not really sure...I guess I prefer a "wetter" vape, so I keep my atties wet...just under flooded.

2) This is going to have a learning curve. For most it only takes a few minutes to figure it out...but for some it takes a little longer (like a few days). Instead of dripping directly on the atomizer from the top, the atomizer or cartomizer is fed through the bottom by simply squeezing the bottle gently. Through repetition and a little trial and error, you will find a "rhythm" that works for you. My only advice is to count your vapes between "squonking" (our lingo for squeezing the bottle) to get a feel for when it is time to re-juice your atomizer. I suggest starting with 4 or 5 drags. After a day or two, this should become nearly second nature. I don't count my vapes anymore...I can just "tell" when its time before I burn my atty. Flooding an atty is not too much of a problem...just either vape through it gently or remove the atomizer, blow it out and then start again. For many of us, the Blind Squonking technique seems to work the best...which is before you vape, gently squeeze the bottle while softly drawing on your drip tip...kinda helping the juice make its way into the atomizer without pressing the firing button. As soon as you get a gurgle, stop and then vape. :)

Here is a link to an index of good threads I'm working on....this should help you find some great reading material. http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/reos-mods/270331-free-reo-forum-thread-index.html

X2 on what Rhapsodies Fire said. The best thing i ever did for myself was get a REO. 2nd was to put a Cisco 1.5 atty on it. I have been alternating between 2 for two months, and they show no signs of letting go anytime soon. I soak them in a PGA bath for 10 minutes once a week, then rinse under hot water, blow them out with compressed air, prime with 3-4 drops and vape. You will get some real harsh hits when you are learning. Don't get discouraged, it happens. Then once you get the hang of squonking, you will be able to distinguish when its time to squonk again by a slight taste change or its warmer. You actually have the best of 2 worlds with the REO, bottom feed and drip. Pull the trigger and get one.

Thanks all.... so can you use just any atty with the Reo? How does the juice feed the atty? via a needle tip thru the bottom of the atty?

Sorry so many q's but I love tech and the Reo fascinates me. To me it seems once you get the hang of it, it must be one of the cleanest/purest vape (much like dripping).

Thanks again!

EDIT: didnt look at the link Rhapsodies posted...Im willing to bet all my Q's will be answered there :)

No problem...we like to answer questions. :)
You can use 306 and 510 atties and cartos. For 801 and 901 atties and cartos, you will need to buy an adapter. I would contact Rob directly for instructions. Improperly set adapters have been known to cause shorts.
There is no needle. Let me drag out some pictures.

Good to see you in the sub-forum FAA. REO's generally work well for people that don't like the hassle of dripping. Also, for people that want the easiest way to vape. Since you don't have to carry a little bag full of supplies with you whenever you head out of the door.

You have been given exceptional information above. If you do decide that you are ready to get a REO for yourself. Know that there is a whole community of people here that are willing to help you out. With whatever problems that you may encounter.

You can use any atty with the exception of some. That have the connection bulge out from the end of it. If you tighten those too much then it can cause a short. Everything else is fair game. If you are gonna get an adapter then I would suggest getting some from here:

Adapters
Stealth Adapter - Avid Vaper

Wow!! thanks for the abundance of info!!! I am definately ready if having a Reo means I can keep good flavor/vape going for more than 15ml of 70/30. Seems to be Im unusual with my cartos going bad so quick. I think its because I take deep/long drags and vape more like Im smoking a pipe vs. analog.

I am definately signing up to the REOSMOD websight...and will be keeping an eye out for a Grand in the comming few weeks :)

You will definitely get better flavor. The thing I wanna suggest to you is to get at least 3-4 atomizers. Since it's better to clean an atty after each bottle full. This will both ensure that the life of the atty will be extended. Plus, you will get the great taste that you get from a fresh atty.

Another benefit is that you will have a few atties to vape with when one is being cleaned/dried. How long are your drags if you don't mind me asking? 2 seconds, 5 seconds? That might have an effect on your atty and also, do you continually chain vape?

Anyways, there are a lot of variables when it comes to atty and carto longevity, use, and performance. Great to hear that you've made the decision to get a grand. You will definitely get quality, durability, and versatility from this mod.

Thanks washvap...

I tend to take nice LOOOONG pulls (5 sec approx) and if I have a mod in my hand or near my hand, Im vaping it ...so you can say Im a chain vaper. Especially a chain vaper since Im still getting over my analog addiction.

So I know there are a million threads about this...but what do you all do to clean your atties? I have tried boiling water in the microwave, then ploping my atties in for 5 min, taking them out and drying them with a blow drier and priming with some juice before storing. I seem to kill more atties with this method though....

For cleaning attys, I got some of these from MadVapes and I drop my attys in one, fill it with Vodka or 99% isopropyl alcohol, then shake it. I usually don't need the atty back in use right away, so I give it several hours or even a few days to soak. If the first soak results in a lot of sediment at the bottom, I'll take the atty out of the vial, blow it out from the threaded end, dump the alcohol, rinse vial, and give it a second soak in Vodka or Iso Alcohol. I let the attys air dry on a paper towel when I'm done soaking them.

I've tried steam cleaning too, and that works pretty well.

If you get two days or so from a a carto then you are spending 75 cents or so a day. IF you get 10 days out of an atty you'll be breaking even. Rounded off figures for sure. Nothings worse than a clogged up carto.

About what voltage are you vaping with the BuzzPro and what ohm attys are you using? That might help for more feed back on your original post.

 been there *shakes head* doesn't matter how many you own either  guess sometimes we need to up our blood pressure for the heck of it.

I did that this past weekend. Put a 18490 somewhere when I was doing stuff. I looked everywhere! How hard could it be to find a freaking REO in three rooms! It was not where I usually sit, couch or computer. It was not in the kitchen or bathroom. Turned up next to my media cabinet. I had set it down when I changed my cd's. Now, with all of mine set to vape. That little lost REO just had to be found! Glad I live alone. If someone else moved my REO's they would not be around long!

All I have to add is the other day I thought I lost my REO Grande at work. I freaked the hell out and tore the place apart looking for it. I wouldn't have cared if it was one of my other PVs...

Can't say I've done it but I think I'd have a heart attack if I did.

My wife though occasionally misplaces her Ali'i in the house... And I think it drives her slightly nuts to borrow one of my REOs. I keep teasing her that I'm going to stop repairing her Ali'i each time it breaks and make her use my Woodvil.

Which is another toast to Rob really, I've repaired, refinished, glued, and wired her Ali'i more times than I think the original creator did.

REOs? Um...

One blown button out of all of them?

That happened to me 3 days ago. On my way home for lunch i stop by the PO to retrieve a juice package. They put a key fob in my box to another locker in the PO. I retrive the tasty morsels, and head home. After a sandwich, i open the package and check out all the juice. OK where is my REO. Normally in my hand or directly in front of me. Not on any of the places I have been since home, look in the car, Nope! I'm freaking out, I must have set it on top of the locker at the PO. Dang! they probably think its some type of device and I'll never get it back! I jump in the car, and there is it, on the floor blending in well with the black carpet! Whew! Hello ol' friend!
