I have been purposely trying to get ones attention after reading threads like this. The other day I had one right next to me at a light and had my car looking like Snoop Dogg was riding with me and nothing. :(

Guess even in small town Texas the cops know what's up. :p

the Pearland ones do now...for a few months now after pulling me over when I was using my MVP & V2 and got pulled over in front of Buccees ..yeah old lady in a Caddy is going to be sporting a Snoop dog right in front of Pearland's finest..puuuulease!!

they know NOW *lol*

Bunny I"m not going to argue with you..but a LOT of "drugs" are natural products, just like caffeine it's a drug none the less.
Both caffeine and nicotine are classified as secondary stimulants because, unlike drugs such as amphetamines and ......., they affect the sympathetic nervous system more than the central nervous system. Also unlike stimulants that are abused for recreational purposes, caffeine and nicotine produce only an increased energy level but not a feeling of intoxication.

Read more: Stimulant Drugs - Caffeine and nicotine, Stimulants used for therapeutic purposes, Abuse of illegal stimulants - Abnormal Psychological Disorders, ......., and Amphetamines - JRank Articles http://psychology.jrank.org/pages/615/Stimulant-Drugs.html#ixzz3PBN64hL5

definition of "drug" a medicine or other substance which has a physiological effect when ingested or otherwise introduced into the body.

ive been pulled over while vaping my reo. sub ohming with the windows down and the sunroof open, rollin clouds at a light and the cop followed me for 2 blocks, i got into the left turn lane to get to my work and the lights came on, they stopped me right in the turn lane, the cop asked me what my reo was and looked it over and told me to place it on the passenger seat. had me get out of the car, they searched everything and gave me a ticket for "expired insurance"(even though i had insurance just not an updated card). after holding me up for over half an hour they let me go. stupid local police should know because we have vape shops on every corner almost.

I hate when they do that, just follow you and seriously making you get out of your car? did you ask what the probable cause was etc? flex your rights! youtube it

A while back I was at the vape shop, and the guy working left his cash drawer open and walked away to get something. I made a comment about it, and he laughed and said "that's a cop standing in line behind you". Sure enough, the lady standing behind me just smiled & nodded.

I gotta say unless that cashier is BFFs with that cop I wouldn't put such trust like that, not all cops are good and care, sad but true

As it turn out "that cop" has been a loyal customer since the store opened. (2008) So yes, they were friends.

X2. I'd make them demonstrate probable cause before they even get my id in a situation like that. They're required to tell you why you were stopped before you have to identify yourself. Simply say it's an ecigarette and ask if you're being detained. If they say yes, ask why. If they can't give a reason ask again if you're being detained until they give you a reason.

Provoking the police to take action then provoking them further by being
confrontational. Cops are people too eh! He can shoot first and ask questions later and probably get away with it to boot. "That mod in his hand looked like a gun and he raised it up and was pointing it at me, it was a terrible mistake". One may be within their legal right but if your dead you won't have a leg to stand on.
Just sayin'. Have a nice day eh!

(mods feel free to move this)

Well, the weather was nice out today so I decided to walk to the vape shop to pick up some more juice. On the way back, I was vaping my Kayfun V4 on my mech mod, listening to music and enjoying the weather when I saw a cop car drive by me, then drive back the other way down the street, then finally come up and stop right next to me and roll the window down. Considering I was just minding my own business, I wasn't quite sure why she stopped me.

Anyways, she asked to see my Kayfun and after handing it over, she asked if it was a ......... pipe. I explained to her it was an e-cigarette (even though I don't really like calling it that) and showed her my bottle of juice. She seemed genuinely interested and curious about it and asked me how it worked. I also showed her my IPV Mini that I had on me and she finally explained that she stopped me because she thought I was smoking a ......... pipe. She was extremely friendly the whole time and didn't give me any trouble.

Just thought it was an interesting event and wanted to share, and maybe serve as a warning in case you don't get as lucky as me and get stopped by a cop looking to make trouble. I will probably try and vape out in the open a bit more discreetly from now on.

It probably didn't help that my tank looks like this:

Apparently you can put "other things" in them too - but its been many a year since I last saw any "black oil".

Haven't you figured out by now that cops don't NEED a reason? They can stop you, frisk you, knock you down, beat you bloody, even shoot you, and all they have to say is "resisting arrest." Cops RULE the streets like fascist bullies, and nobody gives a damn, except those they harass. Remember, they wear guns, which they can use anytime they feel like it, and they can lock you up and hold you for 72 hrs FOR NO REASON WHATSOEVER, or any reason their fascist minds can fabricate. All they have to say is "resisting arrest." When they interrogate you for whatever imaginary thing they please, they can lie themselves blue in the face, but if you lie to them, they call it "obstruction of justice," and charge you for that if nothing else.

    Awesome job in education,
The cops here know what Electronic PV's or E-Cigs are and are aware of them but its still nice to educate the police on what they are. Looking deeper in to this whole thing (not saying it may happen) but the one person you told will spread the word, maybe by association a few people will switch over and by some sort of weird association you may have saved a few lives by doing so.

Any good interaction is one that we need in the community to keep this thing going in a positive light, my hats off to you and keep up the good work :)

I see a couple mistakes in this thread

    - "Stand up for your rights! Don't let the man push you around!"
Please keep in mind the old saying the "you may beat the rap, but you won't beat the ride". Yes, you likely will beat any possible charges, maybe even get the officer in trouble. But beside the road, Officer Notsofriendly has all the power.

Yes, assert your rights. But understand the possible consequences, and don't step from "assertion of rights" to "confrontational ..."

    - "I'm going to be more stealthy about my vaping"
This may work for you... for awhile. But being furtive tends to make cops think something is suspicious. Besides: don't we want vaping to be considered "normal"? Act natural

    - "Cop searched my car, house, person, dog..."
Seriously? You got searched because you were vaping? This is gonna sound like a contradiction of my first point...

Every time a cop asks to search my vehicle, they're asked for a search warrant or probable cause. If they can't provide either, I ask if I can pee in their boot first, since I have just as much right to that as they do to search. Then again, I've held my hands out for the cuffs, and told a cop "If you're sure, put 'em on me. Be aware that a mistake means unemployment".

While you don't want to be confrontational (like blowing clouds in the cop's face), know your rights and insist on them. That's why cops feel safe violating them: folks haven't insisted on their rights.

If an officer oversteps, hold them accountable

From our side that's what it looks like but when we step outside of the box and look at the light of the issue it becomes more complex. With the current issues of folks carrying guns illegally, knives and any other weapon on them to include knowing martial arts its a risk factor to pull over anyone. Remember that the police are pulling over an unknown person with an unknown personality with unknown possible deadly weapons on them and unknown intent so I can understand the twitchyness of the whole thing at hand. Yah some of the things they may do might be considered "Use of excessive force" but then again if someone got up in my face like I've seen happen to the officers I'd beat their head in to the ground without a thought, remember that police have to restrain themselves emotionally no matter what folks throw at them.

Also they are human, and humans all have bad days. I never attempt to push an officer when getting stopped by them as I know they are just doing a job. As for the laws at hand remember the society dictates those laws and we as citizens vote them in so if you don't like a law then likely its indirectly your fault that you didn't voice an opinion against it. We often times blame others to hide our short comings when you look back only to realize that it was you who didn't voice out an opinion about what's going on. I won't disagree that we live in a "Nanny State of mind" when it comes to the government and freedoms are just an illusion for the nexus of control but in some respects we've done that to ourselves in a lot of ways. Its amazing that people voice "Freedom" in one hand while holding out the other saying "Take care of me" at the same time. The base line is that the "Police" that you describe is a small group of folks that likely does not amount to more then 1% if that who have a "God" complex, the remainder are folks going to work and doing a job just like the rest of society day in and out.

Just my thoughts on this one :)

I agree with everything you said, but especially the first thing -- which speaks to what I said, that cops have pretty much carte blanche in how they treat the public. They can do anything to you that they want, and then make up a good reason why it was necessary to do that, and nobody will question it. If you're lucky, you may get a judge who knows this about cops and holds them accountable, but I wouldn't hold my breath for that; judges have even more power than cops, and you know what they say about the corrupting nature of power -- absolutely. And even if you get that lucky in your judge, how many days did you have to spend in jail, just to see that judge? How does your boss feel about that? Or your spouse? If you're just dying to get behind bars, the best way I can think of to do that is to get smart-mouthed with a cop. 72 hours later they might let you go.

I've known some very decent cops, who were respectful in the carrying out of their duties, and were basically just, as you say, regular guys doing a job. But those mostly seem to be the detectives; the front line guys out in the cars, yeah, they have a hard job, dealing with a lot of unsavory (to say the least!) elements. But they treat EVERYONE as if they're a dangerous felon, and that is a step too far. Far better if they treated the nasty characters with more respect than perhaps they're due, than to treat innocent people as if they're jailbirds on the lam or something. They can keep themselves perfectly safe, and still be respectful to the public they are supposed to be serving and protecting. If you're asking someone to stop what they're doing (driving somewhere), pull over and show them something quite personal about yourself, you really ought to be POLITE about it!
