Hard to say this early in for me (3 days) but I have cut back without trying from 2+ packs of analogs a day to about 3/4 of a pack. While I didn't expect to be one of the lucky "as soon as I vaped I was done with analog" people I had kinda hoped I would. Instead I'll count the 20-30 less analogs a day I smoke as 20-30 little victories.

Don't sweat it too much after only 3 days. I went from 2 ppd to 1 pack per week with the first puff on an ecig, but it took almost 2 months (climbing the learning curve, tracking down stronger nic juice, buying more batts, atts, chargers, etc.) before I smoked my last analog. And I didn't know that it was my last when it happened. I still have a pack and a half left from my last carton. I figure if I smoke 1 a year til they're gone I will live to be at least 92.

Oh - Yeah - ecigs definitely surpassed my expectations, I'm physically and psychologically healthier and economically about a 1000 bucks richer.

Sheep - I'm coming to a close on my first full day of vaping.

Hehe. It's 12:46am CST and I'm still vaping away on my Mocha Mint Coffee. I'm absolutely relaxed in my chair here reading the forums. Feeling in tune with fine people, even if I don't reply to a lot of posts.

The experience from the JOYE 510 and accessories to the vaping experience itself has been far better then I had anticipated. I feel completely at ease doing this. My throat hits are controlled my drag and mixed puff methods already feel natural, I even use an old (school) hot box technic puff in the mouth then inhale, puff in the mouth again while exhaling through the nose at the same time, great vapor volume and great flavor. I use the cycle 2 times only so as not to overheat the atty, and to avoid a burnt taste. Oh, and the smoke trickle too. Puff into the mouth and with your mouth open slowly close it and breath the vapor in through your nose.

If you can't tell I'm definitely at ease, in love? You bet.

My experience is totally awesome.

it does seem to be a theme that people who took up vaping for curiosity or convenience, rather than quitting, have a less stressful (and sometimes unexpected) transition to mostly/only vaping. when i realized how satisfying vaping was, and how much less i was smoking, i got stressed out about the last couple cigs a day (same as you maxx, in terms of which ones--first in the morning, and right after dinner)... and that member told me to just have them if i wanted them, try out higher nic then, etc. but don't stress. best advice i could have gotten. i've lit a few cigs and smoked a couple since then but i can literally take 'em or leave 'em. didn't even go buy any before the big blizzards we've had the past week.

I did this with the full expectation to quit smoking and eventually quit vaping too.

I have smoked for 41 years. Since age 13 and now I'm 54. I was smoking as much as 2-3packs a day. I hate analogs and was trying to find something to quit with. I had tried the patch, gum, inhaler, chantix and another drug and none could do it long term. My wife doesn't smoke and I wanted to spare her the crap too.

I bought two Joye 510 kits, one for my son. I received it almost 48 hours ago and I haven't smoked since!

When I ordered I also got one 24mg and two 18s. My son smoked two analogs yesterday but he's using the 18 and he only smokes a pack every two days. The juice I got doesn't taste too good and it burns my throat. It's Dekang and PG. I'm going to get some good stuff like Rath and will try Mrs. T and others that I see highly rated on this forum and go with a VG or VG/PG mix. I got a pint of PG at Wallgreens with the eye toward mixing my own with some VG I can get a Wally World. Maybe use a 60/40 mix. But I'll mess with that later after I get some vape recipes.

I told my bud about it and when I brought it in to work yesterday he was convinced and he and his girlfriend are going to order kits this weekend :)

I'm vaping a lot at 24mg but I know that my body will adjust to that level and then I'll drop to 18 then 12...... I figure I can get to 0 nic in 8-12 months and at some point just stop.

:)

I not only found a way to get off analogs, I found a new hobby. What with mixing e-juice , filling carts, and keeping everything organized, I have also found time to start working out again. The lungs are getting clearer and I can see the benefit of not smoking regular cigarettes really paying off. It's been 6 weeks and I still don't have a single craving or desire to return to analogs. Now if I could just figure out the right amount of VG to add to reduce the irritation on my sinuses life would be perfect. Anybody have this problem?

I'm not getting enough vapor to visually enjoy it. I have used snus before. It did help me quit smoking for about a month then I freaked out for wahtever reason and bought a pack and have been smoking since.

I think I'm getting enough nicotine now that I'm using 24mg. I don't know why but I still feel the need to smoke a cig about every 2 hours or sooner. I just need to train my brain to accept the 510 as a (replacement) not a (substitute). I would love to have tons of vapor. OH I just checked my 3 atty's and none of them glow red. How long should I hold the button down? I held it down for no more than 5 seconds and still no red showing up. As suggested by another forum member earlier in this thread, I'm going to buy a few new atty's from Totally Wicked. They said that when they tried those the vapor was much better. So I could have just received bad atty's. Who knows.

In the beginning, especially when I was still smoking analogs, I discovered I was not "vaping" correctly, and that is why I was not getting alot of vapor. You truly cannot "vape" like you would inhale on an analog. Try thinking it of it as a straw, and slowly (slowly being the real key for me) inhaling through your pv. This takes time to get used to, and when you are switching back and forth between pv's and analogs, it is very difficult to maintain the correct inhale procedures. Try it before you buy any more atty's
Remember at first you will really have to think about it, before you do it, because this is not what you are used to with analogs.

To the OP, this has exceeded my expectations. I tried vaping because I wanted to save money over the rising costs of smoking. I knew there would be an orginal outlay of some serious cash, but between my hubby and myself, we were easily spending close to 500.00 a month on smoking, and I dont think I have hit the 500.00 mark for vaping yet, and its been over a month since we got our kits. The only hiccup so far has been when in social drinking situations, the craving for an analog is stronger, but I have found that if I vape tobacco flavored juice rather then sweet juices while drinking alcohol, then the craving is way less. Although this theory has only been put to the test once since we started vaping :)

Now that I have been vaping exclusively for about 6 weeks, I have found that the experience completely surpasses the analog version. I will never go back to tobacco, I feel so much better since kicking analogs that I've started working out again. That, plus regaining my sense of taste and smell, and not reeking of smoke all the time make it such an easy choice for me.

My daughter and I went to the grocery store last night and had to walk past the always present group of smokers outside in 20 degree weather, I found myself covering my mouth and nose, just like my daughter always did, to not have to endure the stink of it. We got a pretty good chuckle out of that.

Vaping has far exceeded my expectations. I, like many others here, was just going to "cut back" on my smoking (36 years-last 10 handrolling Bali Shag). I knew I was smoking way too much, so for health and economic reasons I tried the e-cig. My one-can-a-week (equivalent to a carton) habit that cost me $14.00 a week 2 years ago had become a $42.00 a week expenditure due to taxes. The mall cigarette was OK, but after finding this forum and purchasing an eGo I had a tiny hope of quitting analogs altogether. 4 days into smoking analogs and vaping I ran out of papers. I decided to not buy any (testing myself). The next day going to work w/o my usual kit of "stuff" was unnerving--I felt like I was naked. I only took the eGo. Well, I'm on day 30 of no analogs. The benefits, as others have noted, have been tremendous. There is a learning curve. This is different than smoking cigarettes. It has become a new hobby, also. Besides the mall cig, I've got a 510 PT and the eGo. The eGo is my main vape. I do have a Silver Bullet and a Juicebox on order though.......
I have found an unexpected benefit that I haven't seen mentioned here--I'm a safer driver now. No more commuting to work while steering with my knee while rolling a cigarette! (I never learned to roll one-handed). Although I'm probably one of the best in the world at knee steering, I could not recommend this practice to anyone........

I have only been using my Joye-510 for 4 days now, but really have no desire to go back to analogs so far. I spent about a month reading in this forum before making the switch. At first I found the information very confusing ie. as to which e-cig, how it worked and what I would need. Frankly it sounded very complicated with cleaning attys, packing carts and short battery life. I watched more youtube than I care to and must say even though I was excited to try it, was concerned over what my success would be. I ordered from Cignot and was blown away by the fast shipping and lightning speed of an e-mail response. I started tracking the order and on the way home bought 2 packs of cigarettes, thinking the order would not arrive until the next day. I sat in my car at the mailbox waiting for the mailman anyway and finally got out of the car and checked it anyway. My package was there...the mailman came early for a change. I smoked about 1\2 pack of analogs waiting the 8 hours for the battery to charge and the next day began this wonderfull experience. I still have 1 & 1\2 packs of analogs left. I am keeping them for the time being as a self challenge! I had a very bad day on day two, not from wanting a cigarette, but car breaking down, breaking some stuff and other very high stress problems, however, never did reach for the analog! I have been a 2 pack per day smoker for many many years, but have quit many times  cold turkey and was even successfull for 15 years one time. My only complaint is I am afraid I may run out of juice, so ordered some flavors from Mrs T's to try. I am now looking at buying a PT and PCC as well as mixing my own juice and it is only day 4! :w00t: It is funny but all my confusion went away once I got the 510. The only problem I found was the kit I bought was suppose to come with 5 pre-filled carts of different nic levels, the problem is they were not labeled so I have NO idea which one is no nic to 24 nic. I smoked lights (cheapest I could find) so saving roughly $3.65 per pack will be offset by all the gadgets and juice I will end up buying...8-o. I did start e-cigs to stop smoking and don't think I will have any problem doing so, but if I do smoke an analog no big deal, as it will be because I have run out of juice, battery or atty problem.

4 days analog free,160 not smoked, $29.20 saved on analogs and $83.00 spent on e-cig's, juice etc. :w00t:8-o:w00t:

Well haven't been at it that long but I'd have to say so far it's a great experience. Smoked for 38 years and quit a couple times but that never lasted. I suppose if I never drank coffee or beer I could have quit. Something about having a beer or 2 and I had to have a cigarette, anyone else ever have that problem? Anyway I'm drinking a beer right now getting ready to watch the race at Daytona. I have the urge to smoke so I just pick up my 801 with 555 juice and vape away, guess what, no more urge to smoke an analog. I've got an 801 which I keep filled with various tobacco flavored juice, 555 and marlboro are my favorites for this. I have a 901 also that I use for the sweet or flavored juices. I have the coffee in it right now from awesome vapor, excellent flavor and vapor production from this juice. Anyway I really think I can stay off the analogs now. The way I look at it is this way, I can keep smoking if I want, it's cheaper and healthier with not much of a downside except some simple maintenance once in awhile.

i cant even begin to express my joy when i vape. i am NOT SMOKING!!! it has been 25 years since i could say i was a non-smoker, but after smoking i guess i am an ex-smoker, but its still the same thing. to me anyway. i cant even stand the smell of an analog now, i tell everybody i know who smokes about the e-cig now like i am selling the damn things. its almost like i am trying to testify the bible and i am an atheist lol. this has been, for me, a miracle. i cant even begin to express my gratitude for the inventors of the e-cig. thanks

Just a suggestion--try the FlueCured from Alien Vapors. I am not affiliated with them in any way, but if you like the tobacco flavorings, it is killer!
Thanks shortwing I'll check it out. I really like the 555 and marlboro from awesome vapor for tobacco taste. I'm new at this so I really have nothing to compare it to except the juiced carts that came with my ecigs.

I believe so!! I love chillin' my room and vaping without having to sneak outside in the rain for a quick hit. The only complaint I have is the maintenance, but I'm willing to sacrifice a little patience and learning in order to vape when & where I want. I've gotta 510 and am really pleased with it. I can't wait to run out of liquid to try others.

I actually have a quick question, I have an InnoVapor ecig, do I have to use their liquid? Cuz I wanna try other flavors like strawberry and whatnot, but I don't think they sell it. As long as I can buy other companies liquids, I'll be SUPER stoked!! Thanks. :D

Yes, you can use any liquid from anywhere in any device.

Started vaping a 901 my sister sent me on 7-8-09. I didn't know it at that time but I had smoked my last analog shortly before I took my first vape. My coworkers, none of them smokers, have been telling me how well I have done quitting smoking. I never even thought of it as quitting, I don't feel like I have quit anything other than putting a bunch of tar and chemicals in my lungs. I smoked for 45 years and didn't like smoking for the last 35 years, but I had to feed my habit. I honestly can say I enjoy vaping more than I ever enjoyed an analog cigarette.

Same here Elapid, I got my 901 the other day and boy do i love it i enjoy vaping more than analog cigs, a smoker myself for 45 years, had tried other methods but failed, these are great wish i'd known about them long time ago could've saved a fortune, I'm a very happy person now and so is the wife.

I smoked probably longer than you've been alive and haven't found a product that was successful in me quitting. I have achieved that goal thanks to the e-cigarette. Is it all I thought it was cracked up to be? No. I thought it would be like all the other products to quit I tried but it wasn't. It is such a pleasurable device and I love using it. It's ironic that a product this enjoyable is also such a healthy alternative to smoking. I thank my lucky stars I have it but just wished I would have found it when I was younger.
