Was vaping all it was cracked up to be?

I'm wondering if people, now that they've tried vaping, are finding that it's all that it's cracked up to be? Is the experience what you were expecting before you started?

For me, it isn't what I expected, it's far better. I knew really nothing about e-cigs before placing my first order for a cheap knockoff, all I knew is that I wanted something, anything to try and help keep me away from cigarettes. Then I found this place and ordered a 510. It didn't perform too well the first week, just small, wispy clouds of vapour but I was still happy and satisfied. Then, in week 2, it really started working and I'm getting great big clouds of vapour. I have no want whatsoever for a real cigarette anymore, vaping gives me everything that smoking did, and more.

Curious about what other people's experiences are. Has vaping lived up to your expectations?

Well, I never intended to quit smoking... just to suppliment when the hubby was near.... but I haven't had a smoke since I bought my first Smoking Everywhere kit... and it's only gotten better since my 510, and now my transition into cartomizers..... sooooooooooooooo.... it has FAR exceeded any expectation I ever had....

Exceeded expectations, for sure.

I had a drag off my sister's NPro after dinner on Father's Day when she came into town.
I thought this could work, so I went researching, and found this place.

Now I'm using a 510 with cartridges and cartridge mods for on the go.
And dripping with a Chuck with either 306 or 510 atomizer for at home.

And now my sister is learning from me how to make the most of this.

Exceeded for sure. Never intended to quit with it - just intended to cut downr egular cigs and supplement with the PV.
Ended up smoking less and vaping more until I stopped wanting (yes..I stopped WANTING) an analog. Now I rarely think about them, other than to wonder 'what was I thinking' for like 20 years.
Sure there were some I enjoyed but looking back it was maybe 2 or 3 a day not the 20 I went through.
So yeah , my 510 is wonderful - its a tiny bit of wonderful in a tube!
I vape a lot more than I probably should, but I got myself some low low (and zero) nic juices for that. I've discovered some great suppliers who make sublime vapes (current fave btw is cherry cola BASIC all VG from cignot!) and find I crave my PV now, never an analog.
I panic if I think I've gone out without it  Sometimes just holding it is enough to satisfy a smoking type urge. In my head it has truely replaced ciggies and thats just a miracle the NRT industry wish they had.

I love it and would say in some ways vaping has exceeded - the enjoyment factor alone is far more than I dreamed it would be. Changing flavors, etc....is part of that reason. However, I did underestimate the time and organization that is involved in successful vaping - keeping all batts charged, learning to refill carts, having a to-go kit ready at all times, countless small containers of vape juice all over the place, etc...It's more 'work' than I thought it would be (partly because I refuse to just use carts once and insist on successfully refilling them)...but I can accept that aspect of it.

Of course, the people who were disappointed by the experience aren't on this forum any longer but you can definitely put me in the "exceeded" category. I was hoping to replace some of my cigarettes. And I did -- for 5 days. On day 6 I thought "Nah. I won't go buy a pack." and I haven't had one since.

And it was so easy. That was the real shock. The only thing about vaping that's complicated is deciding on models, flavors and mods. (With cigarettes, the choices were lights vs. full strength; menthol or regular.)

I was a heavy smoker (3 pks per day) and there was a lot of frustration and dissatisfaction for the first couple of months. I was trying to fix my problem with mods instead of learning to vape, because I didn't know any better.

Then I found some good juices that I really like, learned how to drip and direct-inhale, and my problems were over. I've been a happy camper since. Definitely in the "better than expected" camp these days. Now I just buy mods because I like new toys. :)

I never even heard of e-cigarettes until a friend in NC told me that he quit instantly after 30 years of smoking using one. He convinced my to give it a try so I ordered what he got which was a $60 kit (KR808D-1) from SmokeTip.com.

I really had no idea what to expect and someone else online gave me a link to this forum and I started to learn. Before my first kit arrived I was feeling more and more anxious to get it but never really thought it would work at getting me to quit, but only hoped it would. My kit arrived, I took one vape and put my cigs in a drawer and haven't touched them since. After week 1, I ordered my Joye 510 and have been in vaping heaven ever since, coming up on 100 days now.

No, I had no idea what to expect but it has far exceeded any expectations I thought I had. It has literally saved my life in more ways than one and I can only hope that the rest of the world wakes up and finds our hobby as successful as we have.

Unfortunately it's not all it's cracked up to be, for me. Unfortunately. My brain still thinks analogs are "superior" to ecigs. I hope I can train my brain to see the ecig as superior soon. This is my last chance at quitting cigs. It's been 11 days and my 510 is still giving me wimpy vapor. That saddens me. I heard so many testimonials that the 510 had superior vapor production, I wonder what's wrong with it. I've tried other atty's and it still gives the same amt of vapor.

I went into this thinking ok i can finally quit smoking. But so far I've only been able to go down to 1/2 pack a day from over 1 pack. I may just need to try harder. (sigh)

I have to say exceeded as well, when i first heard of e-cigs about a year ago,
I was like that is bunk, that ain't gunna work and dismissed them. Then about
two weeks ago a bartender I know said you gotta try a e-cig they work great!!
I was like if she likes em that much then there must be something to it. So I did
some research and found this forum and saw all the pep's quitting......I was sold!! :D

Started vaping a 901 my sister sent me on 7-8-09. I didn't know it at that time but I had smoked my last analog shortly before I took my first vape. My coworkers, none of them smokers, have been telling me how well I have done quitting smoking. I never even thought of it as quitting, I don't feel like I have quit anything other than putting a bunch of tar and chemicals in my lungs. I smoked for 45 years and didn't like smoking for the last 35 years, but I had to feed my habit. I honestly can say I enjoy vaping more than I ever enjoyed an analog cigarette.

When I first got my 510 kit I took a few puffs to try it out...and then immediately went to town trying to mod the carts and mix some juice.

After about two weeks of trial and error, hit and miss performance, I've pretty much got it all working as it should. And I'm still vaping plain tobacco flavor. So...as good as it is now, it can only get better from here!!

Im thinking that your problem might be in your juice. I have seen your posts many times. Go to wally world and get some glycerin USP. add a bit to your juice. you will get more vapor.
just my two cents.
