Yup, me too. You get over that "has to be like a cigarette" approach pretty quick once you've been vaping for any time at all. I had to make several bad purchases before I realized that myself.

As far as what to use, I had major option overload when I started a year an a half ago. There are easily double the options now. All I can say is try a few things and hopefully you'll zero in on what works best for you without spending too much. Just avoid the ripoffs like mall Kiosks and over-priced rigs that you may see advertised on TV or in magazines. One vendor here that has consistently great prices is Good Prophets. They're one of the few vendors whose newsletter I actually receive and read.

Everybody's different and what I like you might hate and vice versa so I'm not going advise you for or against anything. Some people are perfectly happy with a ciggie sized device, though most aren't. I can tell you my preferences, but that may not mean much. I'm not a big fan of the Chinese mass production e-cigs myself (like the eGo). I like the higher end less produced e-cig "mods" the best.

So I shouldn't even think about the smoke tip e cigs? I just read through a bunch of good reviews about them on this site. They were the style I was interested in, mainly because is seems like refilling liquid would be a pain in the ....

Unless you are a very light smoker (10 or less a day), remember this:

Rule of Thumb: the more it looks like the real thing, the worse the performance.

The advice to get a model with a better battery is "spot on". In the slim cigar/sharpie pen sized category, I agree with the suggestions of a Kgo, E-Power 510 or Riva. 5 -6 hours on a charge unlike the cig look-a-like models that will give you 1 - 2 hours on a charge. Plus due to "battery drain", the last half of a battery's charge does not provide the satisfing vape as the first half, which is more of a problem with a battery that only holds a charge for 1 - 2 hours.

The eGo is only a 3.4 volt battery where as the Kgo, E-Power and Riva are all 3.7 volt batteries which is better. Plus they all come standard with 1000+ mAh batteries (bigger mAh, the longer the charge). And definitely stick with manual batteries (small button) not auto batteries. They provide better control, a better "inhaled feel" of smoking and are safer. Here are several good suppliers:

I originaly wanted a cig looking e cig so I got 1, it wasn't enough, got an ego passthrough, wasn't enough, finaly got a 5v box mod and I'm happy. I too smoked pall malls. I'm not saying go straight for a 5v box mod but I'd atleast try an ego style pv 1st so you don't waste as much money

Yeah, I got the totally wicked one from the local shop. Its an ego style. Just hope it works well. How often should I have to refill the cartridges?

From the local shop, probably. Get 510's. Your PV is a 510 set up. Don't get any higher than 2.0. If you can get Boge, that's great. Not sure if that little battery can handle dual coil. If you want to get 1.7 ohm XL SmokTech, those are probably going to be good. They are bigger than the Boge's and can handle more juice. Hoosier sells them, lots of vendors have them. Crystal Clear Vaping has a deal on them, but I hear shipping is slow.

No way, kr808 is even smaller than what you have, you will be charging and filling more. You may need bigger cartomizers. How is the battery lasting?

Battery is fine. I just don't like refilling every couple hours. I'd rather get one with prefilled cartos that I can just buy in packs of 10.

So of I were to get a cheap 808 battery and a pack of smokeless image cartos, would there be any difference than getting a complete smokeless image kit? Just wanna try smokeless image without buying another kit. I've read good reviews from them. So far I'm liking the ego alright, just wanna try the other option as well.

Another question... if I ordered 15 cartos and a 30ml bottle of juice, about how long would it last me being a former half pack a day smoker? I looked at goodprophets.com and I can get that stuff for 28 bucks shipped, which is about 3 more than I pay for a carton, so I wanna amake sure that'll last me at least a couple months or so. I've read that if you keep cartos clean, they "can" last for quite a while.

BTW, since getting my ecig, I'm only smoking 2-4 real cigs a day. I think that's good.
