Okay, application submitted. For those of you who know how much I cherish the English language, I have to say the process has made me feel slightly ill. Not only is there a word limit, they count spaces in addition to characters!

Thank you for all you do!

Thank you!! I knew you would take care of us. When I first heard that the sub forum was closing I was so sad but now I am excited because we have the chance to start over and have a bit more control over our group's new hangout.......

It seems like they like to post on FB the most. That's where the new announcements have been. Even the contests that Kenny has been running this year haven't been well publicized.

But Kenny didn't even know we existed! So what if he can't post? One would think he might have at least browsed the only place on ECF specifically devoted to the ProVari.

Being that sales associates can't answer questions in the general forums per ECF rules, Provape reps may not have reason to venture into the general forums area. I do know that one Provape employee admitted as such when he posted a couple of months back in our Provari sub-forum. Once we realized he was from Provape, we naturally asked him if there were going to be any new model updates to the Provari, and of course he said he wasn't allowed to say.

When I've asked questions on the Provape supplier forum, Jennifer has always been the one to answer my questions after consulting with the tech engineers. If I'm not mistaken, she is the wife of the above Provape employee.

I posted a question over there a few days ago and a couple of people tried to help (they could'nt seem to follow what I was asking) Jennifer popped in but I don't think she ever got back to me.

I hate the character limit. One place I order metal from, I can only type in 50 characters on how I want it cut. I'd have to do a special email to them with pictures just to make sure they do it right. No way was I going to ever fit everything into 50 character, though there are some here that probably could.

Thank you Ocelot for getting the ball rolling on our new social group home. It is a credit to our group that so many of us want to continue the relationships we have with each other.

A stellar selection of Moderators too. Wonderful!

I, for one, would be lost without the knowledge of many in this group of people. Thank you all.

I am looking forward to attending the opening ceremonies in our new location. I know that keeping this group of people together is a labor of love.

Probably a good plan too if you read his Contest threads in the forum.

In early February Kenny posted there were going to be two contests this month - one for juice and one for a ProVari starter kit.

They had the juice contest, but when he started the "Contest Time Again" thread, the prize was a $50.00 gift certificate, not a starter kit. Although I think he realized that the contest should be for members who currently don't have a ProVari (someone pointed that out in the original "Upcoming Contests" thread), he never followed through with any information.

I haven't seen those. But ok, yes, i think i did mean that.

The new one is in my signature. The old one was the eye in a pyramid, but it got very blurry when reduced, hence the change.

ETA: There is also the ambigram of ProVarinati that has become popular with people to use in their signatures.

I tend to read only my 'subscribed' forums, and maybe once a week check out 'new' forums, because I am in so many sections that checking each one would take 1/2 the day:p.

Just wanted to add, some may take this the wrong way, but anything with the word 'nation' in it reminds me of negativity. ..... Nation is a racist quasi-Nazi organization, characterized by the FBI as a terrorist organization in the US. United Nations is quite the opposite, yet is really the place where nations who hate each other take their grievances. It's a world court that plays judge and jury and enforcer. I can't think of any positives about organizations with that word in it anywhere, and if there were one, the other 2 more famous 'Nations' groups would be the first that came to mind. Hrm, every group I can think of who used the word Nations in their name, it was attached to some form of hate or hubris, ie, indian 'nations' didn't call themselves that, they were originally given the name to target them for unfair treaties and later roundup.

Saloon is where provarinati have been hanging out already, that's got my vote. I don't drink either, but at least people see a Saloon as a fun and friendly place to hang out. Provarinati is the group of people who are here already... the name has not yet deterred new people from showing up now, why would it later?

I guess right now would be a good time to ask ourselves exactly WHY we like hanging out here. What binds us? What separates us from others? And clearly, we don't mind being called 'elitist', or we would not be here in the first place. So why change it now?

I think most of us stuck around BECAUSE of the feeling of belonging just with that funny title. It's a joke sure, but so many people have taken it up as a banner on their signatures, and continue to request new banners, that it would be odd to suddenly disown it now. it may have started as a joke, but by sheer useage, it's stuck. I don't see why we need rebranding, except to disband or confuse people who haven't been here in a while (like me, this took me for a loop)?

I'd like to further add that part of the fun of this section is the antics of our occasionally crabby and snappy forum mom, aka Princess, BoBo Ocelot:). I vote to keep her at home making banners and pictures for everyone, in the home she made, with the name she and the old lion picked. I'm comfortable with that:).

It's already been done Lady Glass. We have applied to be the ProVari Nation. I appreciate your concern about the connotations, but I think we can bring forth, upon this forum, a new nation, conceived in friendship, and dedicated to the proposition that "not all mods are created equal."

The plan is that, similar to the "Big Thread" in the HHV Army group, we will have a ProVarinati Saloon thread to continue our antics. And we will, of course, keep making banners. PoM has been making some very nice ones!

One thing you can count on in life is that nothing stays the same, but I think we can take the fun and good experiences we have had in the ProVari sub-forum and make something even better.

I'm not the sort of person who spends time wondering why people are drawn together and like each other, they just do. I accept my friends as precious gifts. I spend time wondering why there are so many sad and angry people in the world and how that might be changed.

We are the ProVarinati of the ProVari Nation (or the ProVarinot for those who think it's silly ;)) whatever - we will not be buried away in the social groups where no one can find us. We will figure out a way to be visible and easily found by those who have questions and/or want to join us.
