Just posted this in another thread, but want to put it here since a lot more ppl read this thread.

Just want to say, Happy Father's Day to all the dads out there. If your dad smokes, please try to convince them to vape so u can have them for a little while longer. There was a study I read a scientific study that said people who quit smoking in their 30's didn't really have an affect on their lifespan. If they quit in their 40's, it took 4-7 yrs off their life. If they quit in their 50's or older, it took 10+ yrs off their life. We want our dads around as long as possible. Love u dad!

I'm 47...so, if I start smoking again it'll ADD 4-7 years to my life?

How in the heck do u get that Fred????????? If you quit in your 40's, 4-7 yrs of life are taken away. The older u get, and the longer u wait to quit, the more yrs are taken off of your lifespan. The main point of the research was for ppl to quit in their 30's, since it didn't have too much of an affect on their lifespan. I have NO CLUE where u got start smoking again and adding yrs to your life. Y would I want ppl to start smoking?!? Makes no sense. Read it again, please. I broke it down as much as I can for u. Do u understand now? Not trying to belittle you in any way. Just want u, and others, to pass that info on to their loved ones. My dad smoked for almost 40 yrs and quit cold-turkey. He didn't really have a choice, though. He had a stroke and couldn't live much longer if he kept smoking. He does chew or suck, not sure what he does, nicotine lozenges. I tried to get him to vape, but he's too stubborn and wants no part of it. But, at the same time, whatever works. AS LONG AS HE'S NOT SMOKING CIGARETTES, I don't give a ..... what he does!!

Hell I would be just happy at this point to have registration go live, so that mass amounts of people aren't disappointed when the site goes live, add's juice to cart, go to fill out re-registration just to find out that there is no juice left for that day. Can the site not go live just to have the cart closed? I would like to be able to resubmit my open ticket regarding the credit card fiasco.

Could be the way your post was worded.........

"If they quit in their 40's, it took 4-7 yrs off their life. If they quit in their 50's or older, it took 10+ yrs off their life."
Correct me if i'm wrong, but it should read that it ADDED 4-7 yrs TO their life etc....and thus a joke was made.

According to a few of u, I'm going to start and stop smoking at least once every decade to ADD yrs to my life. I'm going to be immortal, according to u ppl. That ALMOST makes sense. Nahhh....it doesn't. Now I'm done, I PROMISE. Glad I have my boatload of Boba's and GJ to keep me sane with u ppl. Blowing HUGE clouds of vapor at the moment.

I haven't posted once since this AVE thing has been going on, and my post count is low because I don't feel the need to "speak" here. But Dude, your comment above "Be a frickin man and not a flip-flopping woman." speaks volumes. Do not complain about jokes and such, as that comment sounds childish, immature, and ignorant. It offended me and to be honest, makes me wonder about your worldview. Congrats on not smoking anymore by the way. So next time you need to rant, please do it in a fashion that would make your father proud, and maybe you did.

Mini-update: we are still offline and testing. We will not be open at all over the weekend and I'll have to check to see if we will be opening at all next week. I plan to but I have to ensure some operations on the back end of the website are working. If we do open with this interim website it will be non-scheduled as the website is still rough and likely won't handle the connections required from an announced opening (so many people on the page pressing F5 creates a pseudo DDOS attack and can crash the interim website)

    back on topic ...

I think it would be helpful to remove the misleading information on your current homepage and post an accurate message as to when customers will be able to access your store. Currently the homepage reads:

    Closed for Today
We are closed due to our order capacity for the day being reached. We will re-open tomorrow.

People reading this assume that that means the site will be open at 8:00 A.M. PST as your previous message stated. It is one thing to tell your customers you are not open for business but it is quite another thing to post on your website that you will be open for business tomorrow and then post on this forum that you will not be open at all over the weekend and are unsure if the store will be open at all during the week.

I’m not trying to be harsh in any way but this misleading information is causing this customer at least and I am sure many others a source of frustration.

    All the Best.

    A Loyal Customer.

That's exactly what it was, and all it was.

    Nice meltdown Don.

    Wow.

Yes, that's how I read it at first too. I thought he worded it incorrectly, thinking he meant to say that if you quit in your 40's, you will add 4-7 yrs back onto your lifespan, etc.

But after re-reading it, I think what Don is meaning to say is that if you quit in your 40's, you will have only lost 4-7 yrs off your lifespan, as opposed to waiting until your 50's to quit, where you will have lost 10+ yrs off your lifespan.

In other words, we're not gaining years by quitting, we're just reducing years lost the sooner we quit.

Yes, I see that. My original reply was about adding years....usually when you read about quitting smoking, it adds years to your life....but I thought Don mistakenly wrote it wrong so was just being quick.....I honestly thought he'd change his post and laugh about it.

But I do see how his post was originally correct....that it takes off less and less as time goes by, once that was pointed out. Like looking at the picture...do you see an old hag or a beautiful woman?

Guess I should be more careful....and put a smirky smiley next time.
