Website Suggestion--Is it possible to put an Active Payment System Notice on the Front Page?

Hi,

Just a thought, but is there any way to note the status of the payment system on the front page? It would keep people from going through the order process, only to find out they can't order.

Or is it at least possible to save items in the shopping cart, so we can finish check out once the payment system is back on-line, as opposed to re-creating the same order every time we try to find out if the payment system is active?

We're working on it. It really is a high priority for us as it would decrease our help desk tickets by at least 90%. The issue is my technical ability and the amount of skill required to make it happen. Other than posting a new news article each time to the front page my options are limited until I can track down a guru able to make it happen... that being said it is at the forefront of our "issues to focus on".

Just a thought......would it be possible to just make it impossible to select an item to purchase while the payment system is down....and place a news item saying that if you cannot select an item to purchase, then the payment system is down.....

I could do something like this but it would require about an hour each time and again before putting the system back online. Basically, I would go into each product and uncheck a box and then recheck it each time before re-opening. However, there is light, someone reading this thread has contacted me and we are speaking today about solutions. *crosses fingers*

Are you using in a cascading style sheet in your code?
You can link the "payment system notice" to all of the pages resourcing that style sheet.

check this out - when I wanna check the payment system I just click add to cart on any juice and then click checkout... takes about 30 seconds.

You can save your carts, guys. If you log in, then click "save for later," the cart will be available to you any time you log in. Just log in, go to "my account," then "retrieve carts." I learned that real quick, lol.
