Got my e-Go today (My new friend). Charged it up, filled the cart and took my first vape on it.

Bad, Bad, Bad - Got a big shot of juice on my tongue...

I presume I overfilled the cart or took to hard of a draw.

Also, it did not come with a tip for the cart - next thing to buy...

But after I got the taste out of my mouth, and cleaned it up - it was fine. We are friends again.

Are you using carts that fit on the atty or cartomizers?

Good to hear you've made up. I think I read somewhere that one should leave some air in the tank.

As noobs we must make mistakes.
I've just ordered some EGO batteries, 510 carts , atomizers and other stuff. Now I've just found out none of it's compatible with my jsb-vgo  I can't even find out what thread it has . Luckily I ordered a charger for the EGO batts.

I'll wait a bit before I try the tank - looks promising though. Please share your beginners experiences.

By your statement, I'll assume you are using the cart and attys. When you fill them, you want them to look a little "slushy." You do not want to have liquid standing on top. A lot of folks end up replacing the fiberfill fluff with blue tank aquarium filter or Fluval foam. There are multitudes of instructions here on this forum for that, but you end up with better wicking capability.

I thought I had slushy and had no liquid on top - read that note somewhere before, but like I said after that first initial draw it went fine - good hits. I went back and drew some liquid out of the other carts so I would not have a repeat...

I will look up the improving wicking stuff... Sounds like an idea...

Lots of people use the blue foam that Carpedbass suggested. I think you can pick it up at a pet store or Walmart. I find cartomizers a little easier, although I have never tried the blue foam. The vape is a bit more consistant and they hold more juice. You can load up 3-4 cartomizers and your all set and no leaking issues.

Cartomizers are good once you find the juice you like. Using the carts/atty like you're doing now, you can test out juices and wash them out.

You can't put a tip on a cartridge. You can on a normal cartomizer like Boge. Atomizer + cartridge is probably the worst way to vape. Use a drip tip to test juices (510 drip tip for a 9.2mm tube atty, Ego drip tip for the fatter tube). And you can use the drip tip for vaping thick juices and occasional ones. And learn to use cartomizers for your favorite thinner juices. After you learn to use the Boges there are a lot more exotic cartos to try like dual coils and reservoir cartos and more.

BTW - new atomizers come with nasty tasting primer on them. * Blow out the atty into a tissue, prime with 4 drops of liquid, wait for that to soak in, and vape mostly off without inhaling (use drip tip or empty cart). Repeat from *. repeat again and it should be Ok to inhale

To the OP...I ended up going with the Fluval foam when I still used carts/attys. I've moved on to cartos too though. PIF'd all my carts and attys, but I do still have an almost full box of Fluval. If you'd like it, shoot me a PM with your address and I'll send it to you.

Well, more learning to do...

But for now I wanted to keep it simple and just get off the analogs. Actually if I remember correctly it was Swedishfish that told me I was putting to much into this and start simple first (KISS) - good advice...

I also know that carpedebass gave me a lot of good starting points when I was asking advice.

Ya'll keep up the good work.

Yep! I followed that same principle (KISS) when I started. It works! But eventually, you may want to start looking into other options. When you do, we're here for ya'! Keep at it!!

re blue foam - If you have the slim 510-type atomizer (9.2mm diameter) then the precut blue foam for 510 carts should work (under $1 for 10 at strictlyejuice.com - just search there for foam). Any other size you need to cut your own for cartridges.

And the bulk is at petsmart - Marineland Rite-Size U Bonded Foam Sleeve (aquarium dept)

Re clear cartomizers - I recommend you buy and learn how to use Boge cartomizers before trying more exotic ones. Clearomizers like CE2 need a syringe and can crack and fall apart (ditto for any with brittle totally clear plastic). they also can require screwing around with to get them to work - things like removing sealing and enlarging notches. The new CE3 aka Smokymizers aka Deluxe fluxomizers are unlikely to crack but some get leaking. Boges just work and are the most popular cartos for 510-threaded devices. if nothing else, they are a good backup for if your atomizers degrade or die unexpectedly.

Exactly! I didn't know this the first time I used mine and OMG! There was nothing in the limited instructions I got and I didn't know about this forum so I almost gave up before I got started. Then a girl I work with told me about cleaning the atomizer BEFORE vaping and it's been heaven since.
