What are the benefits of getting an eGo for someone who has a 510/510T?

As far as I can tell the main benefits to moving to eGo are longer battery life and possibly more TH. I'm not terribly interested in these things, the 510 batteries have enough life for me, and I don't need a lot of TH.

What I'm looking for is greater vapor volume and better flavor. I realize from what you have told me and experience that a large part of vapor volume and flavor are related to the juice I've been using 80/20 VG/PG with good results, increase in PG helps with flavor but at the expense of vapor... such is life.

But tossing all that aside, are there any benefits to getting an e-go battery and charger and trying some low resistance atties? What about the conventional eGo atomizers, how, all else being equal do they stack up against the 510 and 510T

Moreover, if an eGo upgrade won't help should I consider a mod?

Thanks.

Never used a straight 510, but the difference between a LR carto/atty (unusable on a trad 510 I believe) and a standard carto/atty is night and day. Way more vapor, way more taste, much warmer hit. I would say it is worth trying a big batt just so you can mess around with Low-res. Plus you can get a Riva 510 batt (eGo clone w/higher voltage) and charger for under $25.

Ego would not really have much more TH using the same 510 atomizers though Ego would maintain its voltage better. Ego is around 3.4v and so is 510. A Riva 510 from Liberty-Flights.com is 3.7v (because their kits are new stock Eastmall Riva 510) and there are lots of 3.7v mods and some other 3.7v Ego-shape devices by other names and 3.7v would get more heat out of the same 510 atomizers than slim 510 does. When I move a standard resistance Boge cartomizer from my 510 to my 3.7v Riva 510, I get more vapor and more hit out of the same cartomizer.

However, Ego has much longer battery charge than 510 and as a big battery 450mah+ it CAN use low resistance atomizers and cartomizers and those have anywhere from a bit more heat to a lot more heat, and heat usually vaporizes more vapor per drag and as well enhances TH.

So it depends what you want to do. If you want to share stuff between slim 510 (which can only use standard resistance stuff) and a big battery (like I do), and you want more heat/vapor out of that same stuff, then I recommend getting something that is 3.7v. If you plan to move to new hotter LR attys/cartos on your big battery, then Ego is fine, 3.7v stuff it fine, a little plastic box mod is fine, anything 450mah+ is fine.

Warning - if you have an auto 510-T, label the charger and never accidentally charge the Ego in it (auto 510-T chargers can damage normal 510 and Ego batteries). And label the Ego charger - it has more mA output and can damage slim batteries.

BTW - when a storm is coming and we may lose power, I charge up everything - all of my Riva batteries, all of my 3.7v mods batteries, all of the slim ones, and an 11,000mah portable USB charger (takes 7 hours to charge). You will really appreciate having some long charge batteries when the power goes out! Also great for long car trips, all-day events, etc etc.

I strongly recomend Boge 510 LR carts if you want more vapor volume. Ive tried everything but Resurectors (and they are on the way) and the Boge 510LR produce the best volume of vapor without beeing TOO hot. and maintain flavor better than some carts. This is on a standard ego battery and VV ego. I can also use 50/50 on them just fine where alot of carts that is too much VG.

I've been wanting to try Boge 510LR, that's why I need a better battery.

In my opinion, yes. There are mods that have reasonable prices, almost equivalent to buying Egos with bigger batteries. I just recently ordered a E-power kit (haven't received it yet) and after seeing some of the mods available out there I'm now wondering if I made a mistake. I've got all the so-called starter kits like 510/Ts, 901T, 801s with both auto and manual, I've got minis, which costed me the same price as buying an Ego. I upgraded to Ego and Ego Ts not knowing what I got are the small capacity type batteries. They don't even last four hours for regular vaping. I also found out that you need high drained batteries for the E-Power to be able to use LRs/Dual coils. Man, when is this searching going to end? ;-) Then there is this voltage regulation you have to consider, which they say you can't experience with Egos, Rivas, E-powers, etc.

;-)

The Variable voltage Ego Battery i got from Lightcigusa Runs at 3.2 3.7 or 4.2 volts. the 4.2 will drop off after about half charge but the 3.7 stays for the full charge cycle if you leave it there. the 900Mah are 25$ and a charger is 8$. would let you try out Variable voltage as well as give you the platform you need to try out Lr/Dual coils while still beeing portable. it also has a charge indicator LED so you can see how much charge is left in the battery. http://www.litecigusa.net/EGO_900mah_Variable_Voltage_Manual_Switch_Battery_p/ego900varimbatt.htm
