Anybody know? Should i be concerned? They're supposedly new and I've never seen these before, and it's only happening to one of the batteries.

Hi Mooch. Did you mean you CAN'T say? Not sure what you meant. They’re pretty common but no one knows what they are. I just can say if they are an issue or not.
It could be just condensation trapped under the wrap. I would strip the wrap and inspect the case. If it's corrosion then recycle the cell. If not then clean it, rewrap it, and vape on.

I've seen this as well, but ONLY on my Sony VTCs, both VTC4 and VTC5.
I thought I saw other threads here where folks said they saw the same thing with Sony batteries?
Understood, thanks for the feedback. This phenomenon (spots) seems to only occur with Sony batteries. If I'm not mistaken, Mooch was able to create the dark spots by puncturing the wrap with a pin, so one might think there is some sort of oxidation reaction occuring with either the plastic wrap or metal can.
I personally wouldn't get upset if my batteries developed the dark spots, but that just me.
Here's that other thread I was referring to:

VTC4 developed spotting?
Rewrap with clear or translucent wraps, keep an eye on them?
Sounds fairly innocuous, then. Good deal. Probably something simple. Alkaline cleaning solution or something splashed on wraps.I rewrap with clear and slip a small piece of paper inside with text written on it to identify the battery. About 3/4 of the battery is still visible where there is no paper. On batts which splotched with the original wraps, it never happened after rewrapping.
