OK, what I am confident about vaping. I am confident that vaping is less harmful than smoking tobacco cigarettes generally. I don’t know if 95% less harmful or just 20%. But I doubt that is 95% less harmful. I think that this estimate is lower on the scale. At the end of the day we are inhaling something in our lungs which is not pure air but sure, it si way way cleaner than cigarette smoke. We can all agree on that one for sure.

What I am fearful about vaping. I am the most fearful about 2 things. First one is stocking nicotine in the freezer for a long time. What if nicotine changes structure of the molecules over long periods of time in the freezer and then it becomes more harmful? What if it becomes carcinogenic? The second fear is using Titanium wire for making coils. What if Titanium when heated on temperatures above 200 °C leaks some bad stuff in the vaping? What if it is the worst possible wire for making coils? And so on.

Why I am fearful about that? Because I a have a lots of high strength nicotine in my freezer and because I am using Titanium wire for making coils. I have nicotine in my freezer and is about 2 years old and was bought before TPD was implemented in EU. I am using Titanium wire because I read a lot about different metals and Titanium seems one of the safest wires for this purpose.

But we never can’t be sure. You know how it is. You are sure until you aren’t and you know until you don’t.

I am 100% positive that vaping is better for your health than smoking - when the choice is between the two.

I am 100% positive that vaping has the ability to help those most addicted to tobacco to quit the habit, should they choose to quit.

I am 100% positive that the more distance between an ex-smoker and cigarettes there is (in time) the easier it becomes to leave vaping behind, for some.

I am most fearful that the government will take away vaping and all its choices which make it so successful today out of the hands of those who need it most - smokers - through excessive regulation.

I am afraid of nothing else.

It doesn't matter what wire you use, or what temperature you vape at it's far better than smoking. If you have a nicotine spill in the freezer, you can clean It up. At worst prolonged storage of nicotine will render that nicotine less potent.. just not worried about that, can always add more.

Nothing about vaping bothers me. Sucked on cancer sticks my whole life - I have nothing to fear now but what I've already done and I cant change the past so i refuse to live in it. I'll die the death I'm dealt when my number is up, and I'll do it with a smile.

In the meantime - vaping saved my life.

Did you know that most Alzheimer's patients are vitamin D deficient and that vitamin D positively affects cognitive function?

Practical Neurology - Cognitive Consequences of Vitamin D Deficiency

Just throwing it out there..

No, but I did know that low D can cause arthritic LIKE symptoms. At one point my knees were so bad, I thought I would be in a wheel chair within a year or two. I saw several Dr's that all assumed it was some form of arthritis but were having some trouble figuring out which type after lots of tests. Finally one specialist tested for D and found it was low. I was put on 50,000 units a week and the problems seem to have gone away. For the last couple of years now I have been taking a "maintenance dose" of 5000 units/day and the problems haven't come back.

So between this and the nic, I should be good for not getting Alzheimer's.

I am confident that I will decide how long I wish to vape; thank you ECF.

I am fearful that asshats, thank you @Topwater Elvis, will continue to let their kids drink nic solution or blow their jaws off in order to make my decision more difficult.

I'm very confident about vaping, especially the way I vape--low wattage, regulated mod (Provari), DIY unflavored liquid.

I'm fearful that "they" will take it all away and not allow smokers that choice.

I'm actually 1000% more afraid of our food supply than I am of vaping. Abundant herbicides, pesticides and GMOs in everything.

If you're afraid of vaping, then you shouldn't do it.

I'm confident that I don't need to be pigeonholed into one classification of vaper...I like mtl, dtl, big cloudy builds, and tiny flavorful ones. I'm confident that I won't die if I can't vape for a period of time for any reason..no overwhelming, crazy-making urges like I had when I smoked. I'm confident that I have done a lot more research into vaping than most people, so I don't have to react to their fearmongering. I'm confident that my mechs and my atties will last me a lifetime if taken care of.
My concerns (not fears) are that I will get bored of vaping the way that the gear I have permits, and the gear will be rendered useless to me. That's why I don't try any of the pod systems, I would hate to like them more than the way I vape now. I'm concerned that the showoff aspect of vaping will continue to dominate the market and that transitioning from smoking to vaping will be de-emphasized. I'm concerned that we don't really know the effects of vaping flavors. I'm concerned that now a lot of big juice makers are using high fructose corn syrup, which I consider nasty. I'm concerned that large companies will take over smaller ones and hamper innovation.
So, there is my list. Most of my concerns don't revolve around health as much as continued access to innovation. I don't spend a lot of time worrying about those things but I see currents and trends that I find disturbing. On balance, it's pretty much a no-brainer; for the time being, I vape. After 41 years of smoking and 4 years of vaping, I can say with certainty that vaping is better, for me. If nothing else, not stinking like cigarettes or feeling ashamed of being a smoker is a huge payoff.

Well, this is an interesting thread :)

I've been vaping for six years now. I'm confident vaping has stopped the cardio vascular degradation I was experiencing after smoking for 37 years. My doctor agrees. I'm confident enough that vaping is not doing me any harm to not worry about that at all.

I fear nothing about vaping. I've seen a whole bunch of alarmist ideas written about the possible serious health risks from various things, and have done a ton of research on those things and more. I vape how I feel is safe for me and avoid what I consider risky.

Works for me, but as always everyone's mileage may vary

Both the pooch and I love them Letitia :)

But not tonight. The last two days I've done 15 miles each on my bike and I'm pooped. We'll head out again tomorrow evening after work :thumb:

I've nearly finished off the nicotine I purchased seven years ago at 100mg/ml and promptly diluted to 43mg for mixing. It has never been frozen, just stored cool and dark in brown glass. I haven't had it chemically anylized but it seems OK to me. Nicotine is pretty rock solid stable chemically, especially if stored under reasonable conditions. I wouldn't recommend putting in your non-climate controlled garage, nor in your car's trunk, heh. Consider this post, Nicotine degradation and other myths | ALL ABOUT E-CIGARETTES UK
I honestly feel folks are concerned beyond reason about storing their nic juice.
But we never can’t be sure. You know how it is. You are sure until you aren’t and you know until you don’t.
I hope you're not going to try to convince me the Moon Landings were fake, or that the Earth is flat. Yes, some things can actually be known, "for sure". Not saying that statement applies to nicotine storage, I'm not a chemist. However, it doesn't take a whole heck of a lot of research to find that nicotine is a really stable molecule. Store it in glass, keep it cool & dark, and it apparently is dang near eternal.

My Mom's d levels and b12 are perfect and have been for years, and she has mid-range progressive cognitive impairment. I asked for the vitamin testing based on all I read and hers were fine and my D levels were a 7 - big time deficient. I was put on the 50,000 twice a week and my levels are now 93 so hopefully, I will be in the safe club, too!
