Hey Rin. I noticed you named the 2nd one Milkstone but it's not laid out like a milkstone I'm used to seeing (online..etc) do you mix it and then use it as 1 flavor in other mixes add I have learned that's what a milkstone generally is?
I'd like to see a recipe that includes the "stone" and then a recipe using said "stone" - not saying from you but just saying ya know?
So, I've been playing with the 'milkstone' thing for a couple of months now. It sort of simplifies custard recipes as you only have to add whatever custard you are using and then the MS flavor. I'm on this version right now and I'm using it at 2-4% in the mix.
CAP Fr Vanilla 25%
FA Vienna Cream 20%
CAP Marshmallow 15%
INA Coconut 8%
FA Fresh Cream 10%
TFA Vanilla Swirl 10%
FA Vanilla Tahity 6%
FA Vanilla Classic 6%
This isn't the original recipe that I've seen by any means, I have taken that one and adapted with flavors that I know work well in custards and added Vanilla to punch up the Vanilla factor. INA Coconut is pretty strong, I used it at 10% in the original mix I had and it overpowered. If you were working with TFA you might be able to go higher. I think the Coconut works like the Marshmallow a bit for mouth feel more so than for flavor.
So I have mixed a custard with:
CAP VC version 1 10%
"Milkstone (v2 above) 3%
Sweetener 1%
It was good but not great. Might need a bit more Marshmallow and I'm moving to a much higher pg ratio to make steeping more efficient. But I remember your response to a post asking about flavor compounding and this is sort of where I'm at now with that experiment! I'm still working on it
