As in, the drips that get on our desk, hands, etc? I admit I am not as fastidious with washing my hands everytime I get a bit of juice on them because when I am refilling cartos in the evening it's often at my computer desk and I don't always feel like getting up to do it. There are also likely drips that get on the desk that i brush away with a cloth duster. Lately I've been wondering if this is really bad or not, that I am sitting at a desk with nicotine contaminants.

Anyone else wonder about this, or have thoughts on it? Does everyone else take great caution to never let it on their skin?

I get some on my skin occasionally when filling, or on my lips when blowing out a carto. I don't worry about it too much. At most is one or two drops, and when 1ml is approximately 20 drops, it's not a whole lot of volume. I just always wash my hands when I'm done filling. But I only fill every few days, so it's not much of a concern for me.

Not too worried about the lower concentrations. I only vape 18 mg. max. I do have up to xxx mg but I am extremely careful about that. I keep a damp microfiber rag on hand whenever I mess with liquid; just a quick wipe solves the problem; at the end of the evening throw it in the washer. I think if I have enough of normal liquid to hurt me, I'm going to want to wipe if off anyway.

I only use 18 mgs also, and its only drips here and there. Wasn't sure if I should be worried about it or not.

And to the mods, sorry for the double thread. I didn't see the first one in my thread view and didn't think it posted. Feel free to merge if needed.

Nicotine toxicity is so high for non-smoker adults, and it's crazy for smokers. 1mg/kg is the toxicity level. I'm 240 lbs, that's 108kg, so I'd need 108mgs of nicotine to reach toxic levels. I vape 12mg, so I would need to have almost 10mls of liquid in contact with my skin for it to be an issue. That's also assuming perfect absorption.

I don't think that a few drops are an issue, unless you have children around. My desk is pretty much off-limits to the kiddo, but he's only 2 months, so he won't be climbing on it for a while yet. :)

I vape 36, and never bother with washing the stuff off, if I get it on me.

Heck, if I spill the stuff on the desk, you'd probably have to stop me from wiping the drop or two up, with my finger, and licking it off. (Yes! The desk is clean!) I can't see my way clear to wasting it, and I keep a good stockpile steeping, too.

Nic isn't a contaminant, IMHO. It's the reason I vape.

"Steeping" is just leaving juice in a cool, dark place for several days to a month or more, depending on the juice. It lets the flavorants fully mingle, giving the best results.

As far as juice goes, I keep a bulk box of baby wipes available and clean up any spills immediately. We have cats, and it's not worth risking their health even if it's unlikely they'd have any contact.

When you want 1 bottle of juice, just buy 4, and order again when you hit 2 unopened bottles.

I rarely let my "all day" drop below 60mLs in the locker. The others can ebb and flow.
I do the same thing. LOL Since I can't buy my juice at the local store I put in my order way before running out. But I do it when I have one opened bottle since I don't vape that much. That gives me plenty of time for a new order to come in.

I think the planning part of vaping is the number one reason a lot of smokers have not converted. It takes a little more effort to plan to order supplies in advance, and the act of vaping is a bit more time consuming (think refilling carts) than smoking. My ex husband is one of those guys who is always outdoors tinkering on a motor, and I have convinced him to give it a try, but I have a feeling he won't do the due diligence to order his supplies in advance and he's the type with a cigarette always dangling from his mouth. He also isn't on the net much, so I wonder if he will keep up with ordering juice. This type of smoker I think has the hardest time converting.

Nicotine has a very short life when it's exposed to air or water - it starts breaking down quickly and is soon gone. Since it's a naturally occurring product in a lot of different plants, it would have to be, or we'd all be wading through nicotine residue from dead plants.

Does this mean that I'm not getting the nic content I thought after filling cartos or letting the juice steep??

That's my roommate's problem. He always .....es that his doesn't work as well as any of mine (he uses a Chuck) and I always tell him he needs to keep supplies on hand. He'll use the same atty until it's dead and never bothers cleaning it. He also doesn't keep batteries charged or keep stocked up on anything. He also refuses to use cartos (says they're too much work) which I don't get. I think dripping is way more of a pain in the ... than topping off a carto every once in awhile.

Yep, and for these reasons, I think for some individuals who don't want to plan ahead at all, they will never successfully be able to convert. It isn't like it takes a TON of planning, but it does take a little bit for forethought. You can't just run to the 7-11 at midnight and get a pack of analogs when you run out, and for some people, that is all the extent of planning they care to do. Honestly even for me that can sometimes be a pain because if you forget to place your order at the right time and it takes a few days, you're kinda just out of luck until the mail arrives. I wish it would get to a point where you CAN buy the quality accessories and juices at local stores. I am not criticizing the people who don't do it because of the planning because if truth be told it can be annoying....BUT the benefit is worth it to me so I make the effort.
