What brand and....model(?) did you smoke before you quit smoking and started vaping?

I started with American Spirit Periques, moved onto Marlboro Reds, and then when they came out, Marlboro NXTs.

I've smoked a few brands over the years, but my last preferred was Marlboro Lights. Once I moved to Indiana and found that a carton was about $15 more than in Missouri I switched to Pall Mall Blue. I once returned from KC with 8 cartons of Marlboro Lights.

Marlboro (mediums/lights) -> Camel Turkish Golds -> Pyramids. At the time, Pyramids tasted just fine. As I was transitioning to vaping, the Pyramids started tasting like .... They're cheap as all get-out, but damn if they didn't taste bad once my senses started to return!

Over 45 years of smoking, I doubt I can remember all the brands I smoked. I was loyal to American Spirit Blue for years, up til a month ago when a few minutes of vaping made ex-smokers of my wife and me. Before that it was Marlboro Reds or the 100s, and before that it was Camel Wides. I remember smoking Merits for years, and before that there were Tarreytons, Winstons, Bensen & Hedges, Shermans, Gauloises, not necessarily in that order, all the way back to the Dim Times (the 60s & 70s).

Right before I ran across this thread, I was just thinking about how my black 350mAh with stainless carto and drip tip looks a lot like these Russian cigs that a store in downtown San Diego used to sell, dang near 50 years ago. They were very long, black (or came in a multicolored pack), with a long gold paper cylinder at the smoking end that had a tiny filter up in the end. I remember buying a couple of packs and thinking they looked cool even if they did taste like burning dung. Outrageously expensive of course - over a buck a pack when American cigs cost about 35¢.

Camel lights and Turkish Gold 100's when they were still available. When they quit making the TG's my wife and I went to every store in the county and bought every pack they had left....

Now I vape MBV wintergreen and can't believe how stupid I was for 20 years.
