I still find it completely amazing, even with the various little speedbumps I've hit along the way, but at first, I was so absolutely AMAZED and delighted, to be NOT smoking, and not caring! First time in 39 yrs THAT ever happened! Sometimes it would just hit me -- and still does! -- I DON'T SMOKE ANYMORE!!! HALLELUJAH AND PASS THE EJUICE!!! :D

An interesting thing happened to me on the way to the K-Cup machine three days ago. My wife, who has smoked 1.5 PAD for over thirty years, asked to try some eJuice. After I picked myself up off the floor, I loaded up the tank on one of my EVOD Twist batteries and let her sample some juice. The first one I gave her she found too sweet, so I loaded up a second tank with an 18mg Marlboro juice and she liked it! She has been all but smoke free for three days, having perhaps one cig in the morning. For the record, I did not put any pressure on her to quit smoking whatsoever, in fact I told her that I didn't mind her smoking.

I am now in total awe of the power of vaping and I am delighted that she has left the land of smoke, hopefully for good. :)

For me, the main reason was a major health concern. I had started casually smoking around 16 years old (I'm 24 now), but no more than 2-4 a week. But around 18 I was smoking about a half pack a week. Around when I was 19 I developed a tumor and had to get a year of chemo. So basically I wanted to quit so I didn't get another form of cancer and have to go through the hell of chemo again. I'm glad I switched to vaping as I feel so much better. And to the second question I had no problems switching. Right once I bought my first ecig, I never touched a cigarette since.

I knew I had to quit before I discovered vaping. I had peripheral arterial disease and my health was poor and getting worse. The coughing up gunk got real old. I had horrible leg cramps at night trying to sleep, and could not walk more than 100 ft. before my left leg would cramp up bad. I looked up the symptoms, found peripheral arterial disease, and among the causes smoking. I'd already become disgusted with my smoking, it was messy stinky, and expensive.

We were spending over $500 a month on cigarettes, and good grief, that was our rent at the time! It had to stop, but I was a two pack a day smoker and really hooked solid. Then one day Doug gave me a cheap little flea market ecig that had been given to him. No button, you just hit on it and it vaped, very poorly, and you could vape on it for two hours before you had to charge it for three hours... but, I didn't need to smoke while it lasted. I needed something that would last all day so I didn't have to smoke at all.

I went to the flea market it came from, and found something better, but still not good enough, and kept learning and getting better equipment until I was satisfied. That took sub-ohm gennies on mechs, which two years later I'm still using. I know that vaping saved my life, and I shudder to think of where I'd be now if I'd not discovered vaping.

So I created this thread to find out why you people decided to quit smoking and move on to vaping, whether it be health concerns, cost or whatever.. Personally I quit smoking because after about a year that I smoked I just didn't enjoy it any more and I didn't like smelling like death. I don't really have plans on quitting vaping either because I enjoy it :)
And another one, did you have any problems moving on from smoking to vaping? I haven't smoked once since I started vaping and personally at first I thought that it just wouldn't be the same but it was a lot better.. I hear a lot about people complaining about how it just doesn't work for them and I feel sorry for what they are missing out on!

Well, my EX just really hates smoking. This is way back 2011, she just wants me to quit Cold Turkey Style. In a snap of one day, which is damned near impossible to do since I was smoking 1-2 packs of Reds a day. So being the Man that I am, I decided to research vaping. And i bought an Ego and 10ml bottle. And thus starting my vaping journey. :)

I suppose I would fall in the camp of a smoker that would light up and just wonder "Why am I doing this? I know it's slowly killing my body. I knows it's not good for me. I'm not dumb, why am I doing this?" After a year or two of thinking that way every time, I eventually told myself that I was stronger than my desire to smoke. I wasn't going to let it rule my life.

So I quit.

And then the cravings started beating my .... I was being rude to coworkers, friends, and most unfortunately - my wife. We fought, we cried, I had to fix this. So I looked into things like snus, patches, etc... and I found out about this weird thing called "electronic cigarettes". It sounded a LOT like some kind of weird Chinese knock-off product that force fed you poison and mustard gas, so I decided to do some research.

About a week later I walked out of a vape store with an ego battery and a CE-4 and never looked back. 2 years from that now and I've quit vaping, too. And I feel great! (except for this stupid UPI that has shown up, but oh well :p )
