You can do whatever you want when it comes to your emotions.

I am anti smoking for the exact reasons you cited. It was dangerous and dumb, and even knowing that I couldn't stop.

I don't know too many long time smokers who now vape advocating for big tobacco, exactly.

I think people should smoke if they want, but my perspective on it is like, if you have the option to do something other than smoking, you should.

Any other stance on my part would be the biggest hypocrisy.

That's sort of like saying, "I murdered someone! It was dangerous and dumb but I just kept doing it. I'm in jail for the rest of my life. But, since I did it for decades, it's totally fine for YOU to do it."

Come on now. Logic.

I smoked a pack a day for almost 30 years before I took up vaping in 2009.... I was never brand loyal and flopped between camel non filters, lucky strike non filters, camel filters, Marlboro, no name brands, Newport (when I was on a menthol kick)

Have not touched a cigarette since my 1st vape mod, a Smoke 51 (complete garbage but got me started) purchased at a mall kiosk way back in 2009...

Found this site shortly thereafter and the rest is history..

I smoked for 50 years doing 2+ packs a day at the end. Have not had a cigarette for over 5 years now. I lost my desire to have a smoke very quickly which surprised me. Could not imagine smoking at this point. I make my own juice and am now down to 1/16th mg. I use 15-20ml per day so am taking in just around 1 mg per day. Don't think I need nic any more but can't bring myself to go to 0mg.

Why are you people so much antysmoking? You did it - smoking - for years (decades? millennia?) It was your choice, you did know about dangers, but you choose to ignore them. And now, when you are so rightful about your latest choice (older generation choose vaping?), you are so rightful about those who still did not make the "right" choice? Should I laugh or cry?
Who is this "you people"?

I'm not anti-smoking. I'm happy I'm not smoking anymore because the side-effects were really starting to get to me, but I don't diss anyone who still smokes. Just because it's not for me anymore doesn't mean I think it's my place to tell anyone else how to live.

I have to agree with Rossum ... I'm not anti-smoking either. Heck, I generally hang out with the smokers when I have the chance. They are a fine bunch of folks :)

I do however know vaping is much healthier than smoking and treat it that way. I don't however tell anyone they should switch, or quit, but I help anyone who expresses an interest in vaping because I can and from my experience I know vaping can really make the difference for some people who want to quit smoking like it did for most of us. I do think it's not good when I see a smoker coughing up phlem like I used to and hope they will find a way to leave smoking behind.

Relax AT. I don't want to speak for anyone else, but I don't think I'm too far off when I say I think most of us here feel somewhat similar to what I said above, rather than some kind of rightful feeling about smokers.

There is not one response saying, " I smoked 2 pad but my cigs are only X amount of nic" or " I smoked one pad, but they were ultra lights" but in vaping, when asked how much you vape, no one just says the amount without saying their nic amounts. It's like with smokes, the more you smoked, the worse it was no matter the nic, but with vaping , it doesn't matter how much you vape, as long as your vaping low nic...

I am very much anti smoking, 100 percent, but I can't help it. Something happened to me about 3 to 4 years into vaping that made me really hate smoking. It changed me physically also, as I literally get sick from the smell. I didn't mean for this to happen and hated my sister when she quit 10 years ago and hated me for smoking (perhaps its genetic). I really cannot explain my disgust for cigs, but I truly do, especially when I see someone flick a .... on the ground, ugg, can't stand that....I smoked for a very long time , but i can't even be around smokers now....sorry

I smoked 25-30 a day for over 40 years; smoked American Spirit (blue and black) for the last ten or so years. Have not smoked a cigarette since May 11 of this year.

Some ex-smokers become anti-smoking fanatics. I am not like that now and don't see myself going that way. I dual used for nine months after picking up vaping.
