Fancy. I think I'll hold off on that purchase for now.

It is fancy. If your eyesight is good and your workspace well-lit, you may be able to get away without any magnification. I find those lamps very helpful; my post-Lasik eyes need help with close-up work; but I can drive without glasses. :D

I'm exactly the same. I dont need glasses but do fine an led lit magnifier makes all the difference. Comes in real handy for building and also for reading those tiny tiny tiny manuals.

Reading glasses from the "dollar store"... get the strongest they have (and have good light) I'm older so need reading glasses anyway but good light is just as important.
I dont wear glasses but did buy a pair of reading glasses for building coils and they did the job I bought them for.
I did also get an led lit 3 piece magnifier and found that to be really good, I could zoom in on specific bits.

    ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Should I buy one of those fancy Coilmaster all-in-one kits?

Well, that's a good start and it's a simple way to get a set of RBA tools that you need. Even if you end up not using them all, if you get a decent price it will probably cost you less than buying everything separately. I would not spend more than $20 on a tool set like that, personally.

Already purchased a Coil-Master mini kit a couple of days ago. I think it will get me started out pretty good.

My eyes are old and tired. I got one of those magnifiers with a big lens on a stalk. It was OK but I found it annoying to have to keep moving what I was working on to get it into the light and focus area. Then I got a headband light and it worked way better for me, it's like wearing high powered glasses. This one is quite expensive and you have to get the light attachment separately. There are similar ones that are cheaper. I use the headlight all the time. Like for reading the tiny print on product packages.

One of these is a standard tool among those who wind their own coils.

I've got the same one. Works just fine. Does anyone even make 1.5mm coils? I'm tempted to make a 2 in 1 from it- sharpen the end of it to make a spike to comb/thin the wick, as I'm not very happy with other tools I've been using to do it so far
Yes actually. On My old RM2s there just isnt room for a coil much bigger than that. I used to wind coils for that on a 16 gauge blunt tip syringe needle LOL

I never could get one of those to work to my satisfaction. Last year I was intrigued by the Tensioned Microcoil thread and bought an Artistic Coil Winding Gizmo. I modified it to keep the wire tensioned and wrap all my coils with it. I can wrap a lot of coils pretty quickly. They definitely aren't microcoils, but I've found that tensioned wrapping really does improve the vape.
